A review of papers published between 2003 and 2021 as found by Google Scholar, PubMed, academia, and publish or perish. The review included studies conducted on women’s samples of reproductive age group at various developmental stages. Results indicated a relationship between body dissatisfaction and chronic fatigue syndrome. Women with PCOS reported greater body dissatisfaction, higher body uneasiness, and body image distress. Endometriosis is related to body image. Endometriosis and PCOS are also found to be related to chronic fatigue syndrome. Findings indicated the psychosomatic origins of these physical conditions as the source or antecedent factors for biologically vulnerable subjects and were explained in this framework. This body of knowledge will add to the area. Different psychological counsellors and therapeutic practitioners will utilise this knowledge to deal with such problems during sessions in clinical and hospital settings.

It has become a major public health issue in low-income underdeveloped countries like Nepal. The present study was conducted with 325 school students, whose ages ranged from 13 to 17 years, from grade nine to class eleven, from Bhaktapur city using a purposive sampling technique. The Suicidal Ideation Scale developed by Dr. Devendra Singh Sisodia and Dr. Vibhuti Bhatnagar was employed for the study. The study showed that 52.6% (171) of the participants were male students and 47.4% (154) were female students, with a mean age of 14.92 0.85. Age 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 were represented by 4%, 27.4%, 40.9%, 27.1%, and 0.6%, respectively. Participants from nine classes made up 37.8% (123) of the total, 28.0% (91) of the total, and 34.2% (111) of the total. There were no respondents to a high and very high level of suicidal ideation. The suicidal ideation of very low, low, and average percentages were 2.5%, 33.2%, and 64.3%. This study showed that average suicidal ideation is prevalent among Nepalese adolescents. The factors associated with suicidal ideation are age, education grade (class), and religion. A multidisciplinary approach may play a key role in preventing suicides among adolescents.

According to Rideout (2010), youth that use the\u0000media regularly have a large number of friends, get along well with their parents, and are pleased with\u0000their schools and institutions. Those that use the media frequently also say that they get into a lot of\u0000trouble, are frequently upset or unhappy, and are frequently bored. Individuals’ offline contacts with\u0000others decline as their spending on social networking sites increases, meaning that the majority of their\u0000socialising and sociability occurs in the glow of a screen. As a result, social media has the potential to\u0000influence an individual’s psychological well-being, particularly among teens, as well as identity building,\u0000modifying how people see themselves and others. Without needing to meet in person, people can utilise\u0000social networking to create an identity and communicate with others. It offers both chances and obstacles\u0000for developing a consistent, stable, and meaningful sense of self. The paper elucidates the impact of\u0000social media on young people’s self-presentation, social comparison, and self-esteem, as well as how it\u0000affects their identity construction. In today’s technology environment, most studies on social networking\u0000sites have focused on the bad effects. However, this paper focuses on the positive sides of social media\u0000and how it aids in the formation of identity.

It is an extension of this idea that all human beings are the member of same family and the child of same parents. Mental health is a state of emotional stability and calmness in which one can perform one’s duty effectively and fruitfully, can handle the normal stresses of life appropriately, has capacity to make a contribution to his / her community, and perceive whole community as a family. Such type of thought promotes the feeling of universal brotherhood within individuals. Hence, for the elevation of the feeling of universal brotherhood within individuals, it is necessary to explore that what type of techniques may relevant in the maintenance of mental health. The purpose of this paper is to help people critically understand torture and human trafficking of women in the Western countries using a case example from Canada presented in a webinar which is now reflected in this paper. Using grassroots science as a theoretical framework, we share our experiences and knowledge generated from our involvement in the anti-trafficking movement and the lived experiences in this critical reflective paper. Although we share some key findings from the research for in-depth discussion, we claim this paper is a reflective theoretical paper. In this article, we (Jeanne, Linda, Rita, and Jeanette) first begin by sharing our own social locations together with our collective journey to the anti-trafficking movement and the process of our involvement in the development of this paper which includes the social location of Jeanette Westbrook who attended the webinar. These behaviours are common in all age groups, but adolescence, as the most vulnerable age, has a higher proclivity to engage in risky behavior. Among the protective factors, increasing research in the area documents that spirituality and spiritual practises serve as the protective agent for health-risk behaviors. The present study makes an attempt to explore spirituality as a protective factor against health-risk behaviours among adolescents. The study aims to see the relationship between the two facets of spirituality, namely, spiritual intelligence and spiritual personality, with respect to health risk behaviours among adolescents. The sample comprised of 600 adolescents from various colleges and universities in the state of Haryana, India. The Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory (SISRI) by King (2008), the Spiritual Personality Inventory by Husain et al. (2012), and the Revised Health Risk Behavior Inventory by Irish (2012) were used. The descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product moment coefficient of correlation were applied to explore the relationship among the variables, and simple linear correlation was applied to look for the effect size of the variables. The study’s findings show a significant negative correlation between spirituality and health risk behavior, and spiritual intelligence and spiritual personality both appear to be significant protective factors against health risk behaviours in adolescents. The findings suggest the cultivation and nurturance of spiritual beliefs and spiritual practises in individuals right from the early age of life span for the prevention of health risk behaviours during adolescence.

Such global social isolation and fear of uncertainty are capable of producing psychological adversities, challenging people’s ability to adapt to a new way of life. This study examines gender differences in loneliness, resilience, and distress among different age groups (students: 17–22, young: 23–40, middle: 41–60) as there is a lack of research that explores how disproportionately the pandemic affects each gender. In the midst of the lockdown, an online survey on loneliness, resilience, and distress was conducted on the adult Indian population. A total of 243 responses were collected and analyzed. The findings revealed that 51% of the population was already lonely, and a significant number of people were distressed, particularly among students (F (2,243) = 4.78, p =.004).Males (M = 8.09) were significantly more distressed than females (M = 4.93) in the middle-aged population (F (1,59) = 8.08, p =.006).Even though no significant gender differences were found in the loneliness scores, there were significant gender differences in the resilience scores of the population. F (2,243) = 5.65, p =.030 states that the male population (N = 101, M = 3.39, SD = 0.53) was more resilient than the female population (N = 145, M = 3.23, SD = 0.62). Thus, the results show that the pandemic has already disproportionately affected girls, women, and middle-aged men, for whom gender-sensitive provision of mental health services, support, and resources is necessary to alleviate the challenges of gender equity.

From using Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram to paying bills, shopping, etc. the internet provides us with a range of services. But at the same time, the number of hours spent online mindlessly scrolling through the websites or binge watching your favorite shows has increased and has become a cause of worry – for both, physical and mental health related issues. The present study aimed to investigate the role of certain psychological variables which are associated with addiction, mainly internet addiction. Alexithymia, emotion regulation difficulties and poor mental health can result into problematic internet use among young adults. Based on these views, it was hypothesized that these variables have association with internet addiction and internet addiction can be predicted by them. Total 250 young adults from different parts of the country participated in the study via offline and online modes of data collection following the safety protocols for COVID-19 virus. Consent form, demographic details and variable tests were given to the sample. Data analysis indicated that alexithymia and difficulties in emotion regulation had a positive correlation with internet addiction, mental health had a negative correlation and regression was significant. Out of all the three variables emotion regulation difficulties could explain internet addiction. Results showed that there was an association between alexithymia, difficulties in emotion regulation, mental health and internet addiction (is greater than 0.01 significant level).
