Patents should have a positive direct influence on performance. Internal R&D, in turn, should have a positive direct and indirect influence (mediated by patents) as R&D generates innovations regardless of whether they are patented or not. A sample of 751 firms from six Latin American countries showed that when performance is measured by turnover growth, internal R&D has a positive influence and patents have a negative influence. Internal R&D also affects patents, showing a negative indirect influence on performance. To build the instrument, a set of 25 items was developed and applied to a sample of 350 young mobile banking users in Brazil. However, little research exists regarding the effects of these practices on knowledge workers. The study attempts to contribute to fill this gap, examining the effect of high-performance work practices (HPWP) on academic research productivity (ARP). A survey was completed by 442 researchers and the analysis supported a positive relationship between the adoption of HPWP and ARP. Using a non-random sample of 10 chemical firms, the valuations of the businessmen were collected through telephone interviews and questionnaires, and finally the general and local valuation of each factor was obtained, as well as which countries were more suitable to carry out exports. We interviewed 61 doctors and 40 inpatients; the results indicated that the gap in the perceived quality of health services, according to the perception of doctors and patients, is a function of failures in the institution’s infrastructure, in the relationship between doctors and patients, and in the access to services. By mapping the identities and roles of the family caregivers, the study also focuses on the importance of ethnic cuisine in pleasing and fulfilling family’ needs. Conducted over three years using quantitative and qualitative research techniques such as interviews, surveys, and netnography, this study explores how and in what ways everyday experiences are impacted by ethnic food. Research findings may reach beyond food choices or ethnic discussions to shed light on women’s roles in cultural encounters. It has been shown that consumers appropriate foreign cultural elements when reorganizing the intrinsic meanings of their own cultural context. The objective was to assess whether the P/E ratios exhibit mean reversion, in addition to assessing whether there is a long-run equilibrium relationship between the stock price index and the earnings per share index used in calculating the valuation ratios. The bounds testing approach to cointegration evidenced that the time series of these indexes are cointegrated. The regions of Emilia-Romagna (Italy) and Santa Catarina (Brazil) are analyzed as longitudinal case studies. Our findings revealed that Emilia-Romagna industrial districts are targeting innovation and sustainability, allowing the Italian clusters to benefit from the shift from regionalized “100% made in Italy” to greater value added through innovation and “green.” The Santa Catarina region is a pioneer Brazilian State in the de-regionalization of clusters through Innovation Centers and thus contrasts with the Italian region. However, judgments are known to be biased, and therefore perception of corruption may not reflect actual corruption. Nevertheless, how individuals perceive corruption is important: the perception that corruption is high can cause mistrust among individuals, and it may actually affect corruption. Thus, in this paper, we investigate what affects people’s perception of corruption.
