Thus, making traffic management and quality of service approaches for optimization of the Internet become a challenging area of research; meanwhile flow control and congestion control will be considered as significant fundamentals for the traffic control especially on the high speed network (in the range of Gigabit Ethernet family). The existing IEEE802.3x standard which is applicable to all version of full-duplex Ethernet uses PAUSE frames as MAC control frames to enable or disable frame transmission. As a result regulating data flow at the low level of OSI model assists in minimizing frame loss and preventing latency due to error recovery at the higher layer protocols. However some problems encountered; for instance, it does not distinguish the well-behaved stations from misbehaved stations and it causes a head-of-line problem. Moreover, there is no priority awareness all traffic get equal punishment. The adding overhead and other problems associated with IEEE802.3x have made it become inefficient. Realizing the studies to overcome the problems become important has motivated us to propose a new format of PAUSE frame through an intelligent switch, which includes some new flexible programmable fields, such as predetermined pause-time for particular traffics. The proposed scheme is motivated by the observation that as the number of examinations increases, the feedback analysis would become extremely slow if a single server is used. Grid computing can be used to solve the problem by evenly distributing the workload of the system to all the available nodes, thus greatly enhancing the performance of feedback analysis in a learning system. We use hyper grid learning system (HGLS)-a learning system with examination service-we developed as an example to describe the proposed scheme. We note that although discussed in the context of HGLS, the proposed scheme can be easily adapted and applied to all the e-learning systems based on grid computing. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, we compare the performance of the proposed scheme with single node servers. While earlier work has indicated that pairwise testing (i.e. based on 2-way interaction of variables) can be effective to detect most faults in a typical software system, a counter argument suggests such conclusion cannot be generalized to all software system faults. In some system, faults may also be caused by more than two parameters. As the number of parameter interaction coverage (i.e. the strength) increases, the number of t-way test set also increases exponentially. As such, for large system with many parameters, considering higher order t-way test set can lead toward combinatorial explosion problem (i.e. too many data set to consider). We consider this problem for t-way generation of test set using the Grid strategy. Building and complementing from earlier work in In-Parameter-Order-General (or IPOG) and its modification (or MIPOG), we present the Grid MIPOG strategy (G_MIPOG). An efficient encoding was presented by Richardson who approached making codeword by using parity check matrices with low density. In this paper, we focus on computational complexity of Richardson's LDPC matrix which is composed by matrix A, B, C, D, E and T. We propose two schemes for low complexity encoding. First one accomplishes T-1 = E = I and restricts D consisting of dual diagonal matrices and second one achieves T-1 = phi-1 = I. Therefore the constraint reduces complexity from O(n+g2) to O(n) and efficiently omits some process of encoding. Also, we perform numerical experiments on our matrices. One effective technique for botnet detection is to identify Command and Control (C&C) traffic, which is sent from a C&C center to infected, hosts (bots) to control the bots. If this traffic can be detected, both the C&C center and the bots it controls can be detected, and the botnet can be disrupted. We propose a multiple log-file based temporal correlation technique for detecting C&C traffic. Our main assumption is that bots respond much faster than humans. By temporally correlating two host-based log files, we are able to detect this property and thereby detect bot activity in a host machine. In our experiments we apply this technique to log files produced by tcpdump and exedump, which record all incoming and outgoing network packets, and the start times of application executions at the host machine, respectively. We apply data mining to extract relevant features from these log files and detect C&C traffic. Our proposed approach is aimed at eliminating anomalies and other discrepancies between network system models that typically lead to poor network performance and threaten the network integrity and security. The framework is initially validated using a case study which focuses on congestion control and has demonstrated favourable results in terms of enhanced data delivery with fewer packet losses and retransmissions. However, because of the main challenge in WSN is power management, several sensor platforms with processing unit and memory limitations are not adapted for complex application like multimedia. In this paper, we present a new embedded sensor node platform with enough computing power for high bandwidth wireless communication. This new platform based on Fox board includes several sensors such as GPS positioning receiver, current consumption sensor, image sensor and wireless communication interfaces. Successful implementations of VANET would require standardized network protocols, secure communication platforms, reasonable coverage of wireless network among vehicles as well as cooperation from drivers themselves. In the networking domain, routing protocols that can cope the unique characteristics of a VANET environment is a subject of interest for many. This paper reviews routing protocols that have been adapted for VANET, particularly using the position-based routing method. Organizational and sociotechnical peculiarities such as indefinition of roles, geographically distributed development teams, new business models and diverse cultural interactions steer these tools. Software development supported by web-based services, built on top of Web 2.0 technologies, is emerging as a new paradigm for distributed software development. New generation software forges (web-based development environments) such as EzForge are becoming the infrastructure that provides the required features for hosting collections of software development projects. They are composed of an integrated set of tools, interacting in a mashup-like environment, each one suited for a specific task, and therefore simple enough to keep total complexity low. An adequate selection of tools helps developers to focus on the implementation of the requirements, while at the same time they cope with complex information coming from many individuals and organizations. The complexity of distributed software development requires a controlled and a strong collaboration amongst developers, which has to be supported by the selected architecture. Moreover, an increased demand on quality assurance is required by the many organizations aiming to achieve a certain quality level. A job is represented by a directed acyclic graph without forks (intree) but with typed tasks. The processors are distributed and each processor have a set of services that carry out equivalent task types. The objective function is to minimize the makespan of the batch execution. Three algorithms are studied in this context: an online algorithm, a genetic algorithm and a steady-state algorithm. The contribution of this paper is on the experimental analysis of these algorithms and on their adaptation to the context.
