The improvements in mechanical systems (MEMS) and the complexity of data sensed such as images or videos have resulted in the development of wireless multimedia sensor network (WMSN). However, because of the main challenge in WSN is power management, several sensor platforms with processing unit and memory limitations are not adapted for complex application like multimedia. In this paper, we present a new embedded sensor node platform with enough computing power for high bandwidth wireless communication. This new platform based on Fox board includes several sensors such as GPS positioning receiver, current consumption sensor, image sensor and wireless communication interfaces.
