This study was conducted to analyze the effect of Mindfulness Sports Performance Enhancement (MSPE) training on competitive state anxiety of karate athletes in Surabaya. The research method used is quantitative with an experimental design. The sample in this study was 28 Karate athletes from Dojo Shiroite and INKAI in Surabaya. Those samples were selected using quota sampling. The intervention provided was an MSPE intervention adapted from Mindfulness Sports Performance Enhancement (MSPE). The data collection method was carried out using a competitive state anxiety scale adapted from The Revised Competitive State Anxiety Inventory – 2 with 17 items. The data were analyzed by paired t-test with SPSS 26. The result showed a significant decrease in the average competitive state anxiety by 9.25 points. This condition is supported by the decrease in cognitive anxiety and somatic anxiety dimension by 7.76 and 3.86 points. The decrease was also followed by an increase in the self-confidence dimension by 8.21 points. The findings in this study show the importance of continuous mental mindfulness training to improve athlete performance by overcoming competitive state anxiety. This research can also be a reference for practitioners and researchers. MSPE training can be developed as an effort to improve or solve problems related to an athlete's condition.","PeriodicalId":353164,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal SPORTIF : Jurnal Penelitian Pembelajaran","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121512501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

NSLBP not only affects individuals but also has an impact on decreasing work productivity and ultimately affecting the economic sector. There are several multimodal that can be given to treat NSLBP. This case series is a preliminary study to determine the effectiveness of the combination of ultrasound therapy, stretching training, lumbar joint mobilization, and lumbopelvic stabilization training in NSLBP in improving pain and reducing back disability. The intervention was given three times in 1 week for four weeks (12 sessions) to 3 respondents. The effectiveness of therapy was assessed using a numeric rating scale (NRS) to measure pain reduction and the Indonesian version of the modified Oswestry disability index (MODI) to assess the decrease in lower back disability in NSLBP. Based on the results of the case series, there was a decrease in the average NRS value from 4.67 to 1.93 (with a difference in the average decrease of 2.74), and there was a decrease in the average MODI value from 32 to 13.67 (with a difference in the mean decrease of 18.33). The results of this case series provide information that the combination of UST, stretching exercise, joint mobilization, and lumbopelvic stabilization exercise is beneficial in reducing pain and disability in NSLBP. This case series is a preliminary study on the multimodal combination in the treatment of NSLBP. It is hoped that further experimental studies will be conducted to prove this combination's effectiveness in treating individuals with NSLBP.","PeriodicalId":353164,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal SPORTIF : Jurnal Penelitian Pembelajaran","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114912173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aimed to investigate the effects of acute physical activities on UCP-1 secretion. A total of 20 males (aged between 19-20 years old) were divided into groups with either a 30-minute moderate-intensity exercise (MIE) or high-intensity exercise (HIE). The UCP-1 expression was measured using Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) (pre and 5 minutes post the exercise). The pre and post-UCP-1 data in each group were compared with a paired t-test, while pre and post UCP data between groups were analyzed using the Independent-Sample T-test. The pre and post test UCP-1 in the MIE was (4.16±0.89) ng/mL and (4.55±1.36) ng/mL (P>0.05), while the pre and post test UCP-1 in the HIE were (4.09±0.53) ng/mL and (5.06±1.02) (P<0.05). No significant difference in pretest UCP-1, however was found between groups (P>0.05) and posted UCP-1 (P>0.05). In conclusion, 30 minutes of high-intensity exercise is required to increase UCP-1 in young adults significantly.","PeriodicalId":353164,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal SPORTIF : Jurnal Penelitian Pembelajaran","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123720974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
