Nos propusimos: 1) explorar como se transforman los proyectos de vida y narrativas de este grupo de migrantes, 2) indagar la percepcion de los/as participantes sobre las diferencias entre estos/as y cubanos/as de otras regiones de Cuba y 3) explorar experiencias de discriminacion y exclusion segun experimentadas y descritas por los/as participantes en la primera fase. Otros/as investigadores/as han usado este acercamiento en estudios de migrantes con el objetivo de darles voz y visibilizarlos en las sociedades receptoras (Sonn, 2010) EnglishThis work constitutes the second phase of a study that explores how the life projects of Cubans from the East of Cuba who have migrated to Puerto Rico in the last twenty years change as a result of the experiences, relationships and conditions that have lived in Puerto Rico. We set out to: 1) explore how the life and narrative projects of thisgroup of migrants are transformed, 2) investigate the perception of the participants about the differences between them and Cubans from other regions of Cuba and 3) explore experiences of discrimination and exclusion as experienced and described by the participants in the first phase. The intervention described is syntonic with the values and principles of the PC. The objectives of the project are: assess the elements of the organizational culture of a government agency in Puerto Rico that constitute strengths and weaknesses for the achievement of its mission and develop specific collective actions to motivate and enhance the capacities of all sectors of the organization to get involved in processes of change that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the agency, as well as the individual and collective satisfaction of employees at all levels. The project was developed in two phases: one for research and one for intervention. All sectors of the organization participated in the design and offered suggestions on its scope and implementation. The intervention phase follows a Competency Model that allows describing the necessary knowledge, skills and behavior for effective performance in an organization. We developed five training modules and pre and post tests were administered before and after the implementation of the training modules. The intervention confirmed the possibility of organizational change with implications for individual change.","PeriodicalId":35206,"journal":{"name":"Interamerican Journal of Psychology","volume":"53 1","pages":"229-238"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47634576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A través de la aplicación del Autocuestionario SRQ-20 a 116 hombres y 144 mujeres, se encontró que las personas que viven en contextos de pobreza son propensas a desarrollar síntomas negativos en salud mental, en donde condiciones como ser mujer, soltera, de mayor edad y con bajos ingresos puede aumentar las probabilidades. Se evidencia la importancia de trabajar con la promoción de herramientas de salud mental desde un enfoque de género, para lograr abordajes más integrales que permitan a las personas desarrollar su potencial, manejar situaciones difíciles y contribuir a su propio fortalecimiento personal y comunitario.
