The research approach used for the study is Quantitative evaluative research approach. The result shows that samples in experimental group during posttest, 11(36.7%) children had no anxiety and 16(53.3%) of them had mild anxiety. In control group 23(76.7%) children had moderate anxiety and 5(16.7%) had severe anxiety. A significant difference was found in the post test mean values (11.57) of level of anxiety among children in experimental and control group (26.37), so the mean difference 14.8 was a true difference and the standard deviation of posttest of experimental group was 4.57 and control group was 5.51. The calculated unpaired‘t’ 11.3 was highly significant than the table value 3.46 at 0.05 level. Hence the research hypothesis H1 was retained. Hence it was inferred that play therapy was more effective in reducing the level of anxiety among children undergoing nebulization. (p<0.005level).","PeriodicalId":349934,"journal":{"name":"A and V Pub International Journal of Nursing and Medical Research","volume":"24 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139186185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching on enhancement of self esteem among physically challenged adolescents of selected institutions. With descriptive evaluatory approach, the investigator used one group pre test and post test research design for the study. 50 subjects were selected by non probabililty convenient sampling technique. The data was collected by Rosenberg’s self esteem standardized public domain scale. The tabulated ‘t’ value was 2.01 (df=49) which was less than the calculated ‘t’ value i.e. 10.56. Also the calculated ‘p’ value 0.018 was much less than the acceptable level of significance i.e. ‘p’= 0.05. Hence it was interpreted that statistically significant difference was found in pre test and post test level of self esteem among physically challenged adolescents of selected institutions after planned teaching. Hence the H0 i.e.there is no significant difference in the level of self esteem among physically challenged adolescents after planned teaching measured at p<0.05 level of significance is rejected and H1 is accepted that “there is a significant difference in the level of self esteem among physically challenged adolescents after planned teaching measured at p<0.05 level of significance”. There was significant association of level of self esteem with the subject’s educational status, type of family and presence of other disabled family member. There was no significant association of level of self esteem with sex, age, father’s educational status, mother’s educational status, monthly income of family, residential area, religion, disabled limb. Based on the above findings, it was concluded that planned teaching was effective in increasing the level of self esteem among physically challenged adolescents of selected institutions.","PeriodicalId":349934,"journal":{"name":"A and V Pub International Journal of Nursing and Medical Research","volume":"23 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139186189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nurses' knowledge of measures to reduce VAP rates is crucial for timely intervention and decision-making. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a Structured Teaching Programme on VAP knowledge among 50 staff nurses in a selected hospital in Udaipur. A pre-test knowledge assessment was conducted using a structured questionnaire, followed by the implementation of the teaching programme. After 7 days, a post-test was conducted using the same questionnaire. Results indicated that pre-test knowledge was poor in 58% and average in 42% of nurses, while post-test knowledge improved significantly, with 74% showing good knowledge and 26% having average knowledge. The mean knowledge score increased from 11.78±4.147 in the pre-test to 21.46±2.689 in the post-test, with a significant mean difference (t=16.15, df=59, p=0.001). Demographic variables, such as age, gender, professional qualification, years of experience, area of work, and in-service education on VAP, were not significantly associated with pre-test and post-test knowledge levels. In conclusion, the study demonstrated that the Structured Teaching Programme effectively improved nurses' knowledge of VAP and emphasized the need for continuing education in critical care units to enhance VAP-related knowledge.","PeriodicalId":349934,"journal":{"name":"A and V Pub International Journal of Nursing and Medical Research","volume":"2 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139186575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
