Pada tahun 2019, penyakit ini sebabkan wabah pada provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), dimana merupakan provinsi penghasil babi terbesar di Indonesia. PCR masih digunakan sebagai alat diagnosa untuk deteksi ASF virus (ASFV). Lepas dari sensitifitas dan spesifitasnya mencapai 90%, hasil dari PCR untuk mendeteksi ASGV masih memberikan false negatives pada beberapa laboratorium. Sehingga, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan PCR yang sangat sensitif untuk deteksi ASFV secara akurat di NTT. Metode penelitian dimulai dengan penentuan tipe dari sampel, primers setup, ekstraksi DNA, pencampuran master mix, proses amplifikasi, dan elektroforesis. Hasil PCR menunjukkan bahwa ASFV dideteksi pada hati, ginjal, dan limpa dari babi yang mati di Kabupaten Kupang, NTT dengan menggunakan primer : 5' CGCAGAGGTAAGCTTTCAGG 3' (forward primer) dan 5' GCCGATACCACAAGATCAGC 3' (reverse primer) dari gen p72. Panjang produk PCR mencapai 372 bp. Sehingga, hasil studi ini dapat diaplikasikan sebagai referensi bagi laboratorium di NTT dalam mendiagnosa ASF sehingga penyakit tidak menyebar dengan cepat dan menyebabkan wabah berikutnya.","PeriodicalId":349647,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL KAJIAN VETERINER","volume":"126 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140514531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The emphasis here is on raising awareness that parasites do have effects on body compositon and meat quality atrributes. Body composition refers to the acceptable balance of lean to fat ratio when animals were parasitised or when they were free of parasites. Rejection of carcases due to parasitism is also covered. It was concluded that parasitic infections at subclinical level lead to reduced quantity and impaired quality of meat indirectly by in protein and energy intake as well as through altering and diverting of protein availability for both body maintenance in the forms of establishing resilience to infection as well as repairing of tissues damaged by parasites at sites of predilection. Ineficiency in meat production and alterations to body composition due to nematode parasitism is very much associated with alterations in nutrient absorption and utilisation.","PeriodicalId":349647,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL KAJIAN VETERINER","volume":"6 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131866051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan amilum (pati) dan aflatoksin B1 (AFB1) jagung kuning pipilan yang terdiri dari tiga level kadar air dan disuplementasi produk anti jamur sintetis. Sejumlah 750 kg jagung kuning pipilan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penghambat jamur (PJ) komersial yang digunakan diperoleh dari PT Japfa Comfeed Tbk, Indonesia dengan dosis 450 g/ton jagung. Percobaan dua faktor (Level kadar air: 13, 14 dan 15%; penghambat jamur PJ: -, +) digunakan pada penelitian ini. Hasil uji ANOVA membuktikan bahwa kecuali kandungan pati, interaksi yang signifikan antara LKA dan PJ terhadap kandungan aflatoksin B1 jagung yang disimpan selama 60 hari. Jagung (LKA berbeda dan tanpa PJ) memiliki kandungan AFB1 lebih tinggi dari yang diberi PJ. Simpulannya, penggunaan penghambat jamur efektif menghambat pertumbuhan jamur sehingga produksi aflatoksin B1 dapat ditekan. Penggunaan PJ sintetis tidak mempengaruhi kandungan pati jagung biji selama 60 hari penyimpanan.","PeriodicalId":349647,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL KAJIAN VETERINER","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129093111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to compare subclinical mastitis-positive cows with healthy cows in terms of somatic cells count and milk composition, as well as the relationship between these two variables. Acquire from PT. Great Giant Livestock, a total of 29 fresh milk samples from 9 dairy cows tested positive for subclinical mastitis. The Breed method was used to determine the somatic cell count. Lactoscan was used to count the milk composition including fat, protein, lactose, solid non-fat, total solids, and density. The correlation between the somatic cell count and milk quality was tested using the Rank Spearman and the differences in milk quality between healthy cows and subclinical mastitis-positive cows were analyzed using Mann Whitney U. According to the data, subclinical mastitis-positive cows had more somatic cells than healthy cows. Furthermore, subclinical mastitis-affected cows provide milk of lower quality. Dairy cows with subclinical mastitis and healthy cows had significantly different milk composition (p< 0,05). The correlation between the number of somatic cells and milk composition was highly significant (p< 0,05). Subclinical mastitis-positive cows have a higher number of somatic cell and lower milk composition compared to healthy cows. The somatic cells count has a relationship with the composition of milk.","PeriodicalId":349647,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL KAJIAN VETERINER","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132185228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
