The research uses a single case study methodology and 24 SC employees from Belgium and Germany who take part in the survey. To measure the effect of SC disruptions to the firm's financial performance, some quarterly financial statement data are used from 2018 to 2021. The regression analysis results show that there is no significant impact of SC disruptions to the firm's productivity and non-financial performance. The paired samples t-test suggests that there is no significant change in the firm's financial performance before and during Covid-19 either due to the market's political and economic stability or the semiconductor company develops effective SC risk management strategies.
","PeriodicalId":34933,"journal":{"name":"Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"87-105"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9734435/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"10284264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using grey relational analysis models, the association between COVID-19 and other economic development indices was investigated. The model selects the country least affected by the pandemic from the top 30 innovative countries through a conservative (maximin) method based on grey association values. Data was collected from World Bank databases and analyzed to compare pre- and post-COVID-19 periods (2019, 2020). The outcomes of this study provide essential recommendations for industries and decision-makers with suitable action plans to preserve economic systems from further harm caused by the global COVID-19 outbreak. The ultimate goal is to boost the innovation index, GDP, high-tech exports, and HDI of high-tech economies and pave the way for a sustainable economy. To the author's knowledge, this is the first study to develop a multidimensional framework to assess COVID-19's impact on the sustainable economy of top 30 high-tech innovative countries, and to conduct a comparative analysis to identify the strong and weak effects of COVID-19 on sustainable economic growth.
","PeriodicalId":34933,"journal":{"name":"Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management","volume":"24 2","pages":"247-269"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10068236/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"9414235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We adopted a novel structured systematic literature review by triangulating a systematic literature review, text mining, and network analysis. Institutional theory and contingency theory were employed to analyze the results of the review. The results show that, firstly, research on FGSCM in emerging economies, despite its importance, is immature compared to general FGSCM literature. Second, the specificities of strategies and practices that distinguish this topic in emerging economies are discussed and the drivers and barriers are identified with respect to sources of institutional pressure. Third, a research framework for FGSCM in emerging economies is developed and 12 gaps for future research are identified. This study has exclusively developed a research framework for FGSCM in an emerging economy which has received the least consideration in the literature and practice. The framework was developed to synthesize the existing literature and to identify the research gaps to inspire future research.
","PeriodicalId":34933,"journal":{"name":"Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"1-28"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9638205/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"10284261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Having information about the possible spread of the pandemic, authorities and people can make better decisions. For example, such analyses help developing better strategies for distributing vaccines and medicines. This paper has modified the original Susceptible-Infectious-Recovered (SIR) model to Susceptible-Immune-Infected-Recovered (SIRM) which includes the Immunity ratio as a parameter to enhance the prediction of the pandemic. SIR is a widely used model to predict the spread of a pandemic. Many types of pandemics imply many variants of the SIR models which make it very difficult to find out the best model that matches the running pandemic. The simulation of this paper used the published data about the spread of the pandemic in order to examine our new SIRM. The results showed clearly that our new SIRM covering the aspects of vaccine and medicine is an appropriate model to predict the behavior of the pandemic.
","PeriodicalId":34933,"journal":{"name":"Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management","volume":"24 2","pages":"235-246"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10020765/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"9711673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Toward that end, 400 different SMEs in Saudi Arabia were approached. Data were collected via questionnaire. Results confirm that the ability to handle big data analytics totally mediates the relationship between IT capabilities and strategic flexibility. Big data infrastructure flexibility has a negative effect on strategic flexibility. Big data personal expertise not only negatively affects the relationship between IT capabilities and strategic flexibility but also stimulates and reinforces the relationship between strategic flexibility and organizational resilience. The critical pathway developed and tested the trend to make the organization as an immune system able to make the best of the worst. This implies the urgent need for policymakers and managers to adopt and comprehend the concept of BDAC instead of IT capabilities to define oriented plans specifically formulated for stimulating strategic flexibility and organizational resilience. By adopting the proposed model, SMEs can interact more effectively internally and externally.
","PeriodicalId":34933,"journal":{"name":"Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"123-142"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9749648/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"10281433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, COVID-19 vaccination campaigns (Vaccination campaigns are the complete process of COVID-19 vaccination campaigns beyond just administrating vaccines.) are a complex multi-stakeholder process, and therefore, it is important to understand the key components and drivers of vaccination campaigns to help devise strategies to increase vaccination coverage for existing and future vaccination efforts. A system dynamics modeling approach was used to trace the vaccination campaign for the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The results identified the key stakeholders of the vaccination campaign and their inter-linkages, and the diverse perspectives of stakeholders of vaccination campaigns in Madhya Pradesh were collated in a structured format. Further, system dynamics models were developed to capture all aspects of the vaccination campaign in Madhya Pradesh, including the challenges and innovations. The outcomes of the study can assist academicians, practitioners, and policymakers develop vaccination programs at sub-national, national, and global levels. They will guide decision-makers to take preemptive measures to mitigate possible risks and challenges and provide improved services as part of vaccination campaigns.

Supplementary information: The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s40171-022-00326-9.
","PeriodicalId":34933,"journal":{"name":"Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"143-161"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9750055/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"10628118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
