A descriptive survey was used as a research method. The study population consisted of consumers of Nigeria Bottling Company products in the city of Ibadan. Because of the infinite nature of the population, Godin’s formula was used to determine the sample size of 384 respondents who were randomly selected from the capital city of Ibadan. Primary data for the study were obtained through a survey of respondents. The study used both descriptive and inferential statistics when analyzing data using SPSS version 23. The results showed that supply chain integration has a strong positive impact on performance, with an r value of 0.645 in the hypothesis tested, i.e. an impact of 64.5%. The study concluded that supply chain integration has a significant impact on product performance and therefore recommends that managers at the Nigeria Bottling Company improve their supply chain performance, especially information sharing, to ensure productivity.","PeriodicalId":349001,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Volgogradskogo gosudarstvennogo universiteta. The current trend in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement is characterized by a shift in priority from state supervision and administrative regulation to digital monitoring and market self-regulation, in which appropriate measures can achieve the set goals faster and at a lower cost. The coverage of the self-regulation processes of the entire business community, rather than its individual representatives, will not only ensure more reliable and high-quality fulfillment of contractual obligations but also increase the competitiveness of the domestic energy sector as a whole. The tasks of self-regulatory organizations in the energy sector may include participation in the development of a regulatory framework, information support, consulting in the field of personnel training, and voluntary agreements in the field of ecodesign. Stroev","doi":"10.15688/ek.jvolsu.2023.1.1","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15688/ek.jvolsu.2023.1.1","url":null,"abstract":"Based on the rather well-known features of Russia, size, physical-geographical and economic-geographical position of the territory, the task of organizing business activity in the country, both at the national and subnational levels, remains constantly relevant. The interactions that developed during the Soviet period in the development of the state, which included Russia, have largely lost their significance by now. For modern actors of business activity in the time being, the difficulties of interaction are obvious, the reason for which is a significant spatial differentiation and polarization of the economic space. In this respect, the article analyzes scientific ideas regarding the category of “coherence”, presented in modern economic studies of the last three decades, during which there was a decrease in the coherence of the economic space of Russia, which in the time being began to act as an acting factor restraining economic growth at the national and subnational (regional) levels. The modern idea of coherence is inseparable from such categories as “economic space” and “interaction.” The authors identified a number of significant concepts associated with the key category of “coherence.” The dynamics in the content saturation of this category are revealed, which can be interpreted as a continuous process of updating development priorities and the need for new emphasis in understanding this category. The multidimensional nature of the application of the “coherence” category requires specification of its subject area to clarify additional characteristics of coherence. With the focus on the economic space coherence, we note the significance of such an indicator as the intensity of interactions between spatial structures that receive the status of “centers” that influence the maintenance and development of their environment. Clarifications in the interpretation of the concept of “coherence” are closely related to its quantitative assessment. {"title":"Institutional Environment for the Implementation of Investment Behavior of Households","authors":"A. The author identifies three periods of the formation of this environment, each of which has its own qualitative characteristics. In particular, in the pre-revolutionary period, households with personal freedom showed investment activity, i.e. the vast majority of the population was unable to form an accumulation fund due to their dependent position. Despite the fact that during the Soviet period, citizens formally acquired the appropriate rights, the prohibition on owning private property significantly limited the possibilities of using investment instruments. In fact, the institutional environment made it possible to form an accumulation fund by investing deposits and, in particular cases, purchasing bonds. The modern period of development of the institutional environment can also be divided into two sub-periods – the period of formation (1991–2004) and the period of activation of investment activity of households (from 2004 to the present). It should be noted that neither at the stage of formation, nor at the present time, the relevant legislation has been formed, the purpose of which would be to stimulate the inclusion of households in investment processes, which, according to the author, is a significant omission, since it is the legal norms that are one of the foundations of the functioning of institutions. In this regard, the state investment policy is of particular importance. Based on the analysis carried out in the study, it was determined that in relation to the household, the state sets such related goals as improving living standards and forming a passive income fund. In turn, capacities of product, technological, organizational and other innovations often cannot be fully implemented within the current business model (BM) framework. The solution assumes a systematic approach, including innovative transformation of both BM single elements and the logic of the company value understanding, its offer generation and profit allocation. The need for business to meet the sustainable development criteria and the search for ways to integrate sustainable development goals into existing business models have led to the emergence of sustainable business model (SBM) concept, and the number of studies and relevant publications has been steadily increasing in recent years. At the same time, there are only a few research trying to adjust the SBM concept to tourism. Others are in their initial stage, and therefore unanswered questions remain, of which the key ones are about the fundamental differences between SBM and traditional BM, incentives for BM amendments, and the options for companies to incorporate sustainability into their BM. The research aims at developing a scheme for tourist companies’ BM transformation from traditional into green business models (GBM), which required preliminary analysis of the GBM essence and key characteristics. The research methodology includes comparative analysis of key parameters in structural components for both traditional and green BM of companies operating in the tourist market. Canvas nine-block BM is taken as a basis. The main scientific and practical problem of the article is increasing risk of political, financial, economic and social damage for Russia as a result of Western countries’ sanctions. The purpose of the research is to identify key trends in Russian NPS development under intensified foreign political pressure. The methodological and conceptual basis of the article includes theories of sustainable socio-economic development, financial markets and public finances, the National Security Strategy of Russia, the Strategy for the National Payment System Development for 2021–2023. The article notes significant achievements in the Russian NPS development in recent years. The authors highlight key trends in the NPS development, namely: increasing in number and volume of non-cash payments inside the country, expanding use of bank cards as a payment instrument, developing tools of bank card service, restructuring operations on bank cards, developing independent national payment instruments (Financial messaging system and “Mir” payment system). The author analyses the current state, as well as the occurred and potentially necessary transformations of the institutional system at the level of macro-regions of the domestic economy over the past twenty years (2005–2021). The analysis showed, the domestic economy on a regional scale had a different level of susceptibility and adaptation of the institutional system to modern realities and the changes that they entail, which affects the efficiency of the economic system as a whole. Based on the analysis, institutional gaps were also identified (between related institutions, the rules of the game and control, institutional levels) that exist at the present stage in the “institutional field” of the meso- and macro-levels of the functioning of the economy of the Russian Federation. Such gaps are considered from the standpoint of noncomplementarity between new and existing institutions, as well as the lack of interconnection between related rules. On the basis of the analysis carried out, the features of the institutional transformation of the domestic economic system from the standpoint of the economic and institutional components are revealed. The identification of these features shows the common characteristics of the digitalization processes of regional economic systems in the country, as well as their differences in the aspect analyzed. The paper deals with the issue of the impact of economic growth and structural changes on the energy intensity of territories. Empirical studies highlight a significant influence of macroeconomic, demographic and political factors on changes in the energy intensity of economies. Russia has significant capacity for improving energy efficiency, primarily in the electricity and housing sectors. The released fossil fuels can be exported, reduce emissions into the atmosphere, and, as a result, improve life quality. A consistent reduction in the consumption of fuel and energy resources due to the transition to a new technological order is demonstrated by electric power industry, manufacturing industry and transport sector. It is noted that for Russia the transition from raw-material economic model to innovative one is a priority for sustainable development. To overcome the causes of low energy efficiency and realize the existing potential, it is necessary to intensify the state policy both at the regional and federal levels. At the same time, saving energy and increasing energy efficiency cannot reduce energy intensity of GDP/GRP without high economic rates. The paper analyses the influence of the gross regional product structure on energy consumption in the Rostov region as well as the characteristics of the economic structure and electricity consumption of the region. The main objective of the article is to summarize the theoretical and practical experience of using preferential trade instruments and to develop recommendations for improving the efficiency of the EAEU tariff preferences system. The modern normality of international economic relations is the growth of regional trade agreements, which are used not only as instruments of economic cooperation, but also as agents of the political will of individual states. One of the manifestations of such a policy is the strengthening of foreign policy confrontation between the United States and the countries of the Middle East, which is practically reflected in the growth of economic and administrative barriers to mutual trade. Having foreign policy disagreements with Western powers served as prerequisites for strengthening the foreign economic rapprochement of these states and the EAEU member states. The optimal format for the implementation of such initiatives is the economic integration of countries through preferential agreements. The first practical step towards the implementation of this process was the signing of the agreement on a free trade zone between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the EAEU. In the modern economic literature, there are various approaches to the definition of this economic category, on the basis of which the author’s approach to determining the essence and content of the category “insurance premiums to off-budget funds” is formed. The well-established principles of the organization of off-budget funds in the country are considered. Based on the fact that these funds are a tool for the redistribution of significant financial flows of the commercial and non-profit sector of the economy, the authors additionally proposed two principles: legality and social justice. The article reveals the historical stages of the offbudget funds development in Russia (social insurance, pension system, medical insurance) and the processes of forming their budgets at the expense of insurance premiums. The contradiction existing in the regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, which is associated with the accrual and payment of insurance premiums, is disclosed. The purpose of the study is to analyze the peculiarities of collecting insurance premiums to off-budget funds in Russia.
