Animee par un ideal de justice sociale et de progres, elle s’investit dans un militantisme de terrain et invente, en 1920, la Methode de dessin libre a grande echelle1 ou Methode Helguy qui va rencontrer un vif succes. Elle est soutenue des 1926 par d’eminents acteurs de la pedagogie francaise. Malgre le succes de sa methode et ses efforts pour la diffuser, Helene Guinepied ne parviendra pas a prendre sa place dans le milieu de la pedagogie.
