A few years after Ciudadela Santa Rosa was completed in 1998, many of the houses were either abandoned or auctioned off. Starting in 2005, families of former combatants from different armed groups bought these properties at very low cost and moved there after finishing their institutional reinsertion process. In the first part of the article, I broach the history of the neighborhood as told by two of its inhabitants. I then go on to describe my fieldwork methodology and conclude with a series of reflections triggered by how the residents build their social relationships. I frame these reflections from a critical perspective derived of the analysis of national and Bogota´s governments’ policies and programs geared to the social reintegration of former combatants between 2010 and 2012, prior to the negotiations with farc guerilla group.","PeriodicalId":34787,"journal":{"name":"Maguare","volume":"31 1","pages":"165-193"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49363210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

En ella confluyen la experiencia dolorosa del desplazamiento con nuevas formas de sentirse ciudadano y de agenciar ante el Estado neoliberal y la sociedad, bajo el rotulo de desplazado. Muestro como las personas desplazadas se apropian de su destino y elaboran nuevas subjetividades politicas en la Iglesia Cristiana Menonita. Observaciones etnograficas, notas de campo, grupos focales y entrevistas situan a la Iglesia como el centro de la experiencia de un grupo de personas desplazadas que se convierten al cristianismo, lo que constituye una teodicea, como lo denomino en este articulo. Planteo que la agencia es mas un producto de las emociones vividas y de una relacion social particular que de una accion racional del Estado.","PeriodicalId":34787,"journal":{"name":"Maguare","volume":"31 1","pages":"195-224"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42170498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the analysis of national and regional archives, press archives, official communiques and documents, criminal cases, laws, letters, texts, and memoirs, this article, examines the political, military, and sociocultural confrontations between elites and slaves in southwestern Colombia during that period. The analysis focuses particularly on how the elites labelled the slaves as dangerous in order to justify a repressive legal and institutional control designed to preserve their capital and power.","PeriodicalId":34787,"journal":{"name":"Maguare","volume":"31 1","pages":"97-128"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41542725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Un guerrero de Paz (2010) by Maria Jose Pizarro Rodriguez, and Carta a una sombra by Miguel Salazar and Daniela Abad (2015). Each filmmaker resorts to the work of memory to reflect on the impact that the assassination of a loved one had on them and their relatives during the late 1990s, a period of escalating political violence in Colombia. These three films are at the forefront of an innovative trend in documentary production in Colombia, one that allows for the inclusion of grief and mourning, personal experience, and critical examination of family relationships.","PeriodicalId":34787,"journal":{"name":"Maguare","volume":"31 1","pages":"17-42"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67017758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
