This research aims to know the mastery profile of students' concepts (prior knowledge) on hydrostatic pressure material. Descriptive research is applied in this study to realize these goals. This research was conducted at SMAN VII Mataram with a total sample of 44 students spread over four classes. Samples were taken using a simple random sampling technique. The data collection tool in this study was a concept mastery test instrument consisting of 14 questions. This test instrument measures students' mastery of concepts from cognitive level C1 (remembering) to cognitive level C4 (analyzing). Data on test results were analyzed by calculating the average percentage of students who could answer questions correctly according to the cognitive level being tested. This percentage is used as an indicator to measure the student's mastery of concepts on hydrostatic pressure material. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the level of student's mastery of concepts for cognitive level C1 (remembering) was 70.45%, cognitive level C2 (understanding) was 31.36%, cognitive level C3 (applying) was 27.73%, and cognitive level C4 (analyzing) was 18.94%. It can be concluded that students' mastery of concepts, especially at cognitive levels C2-C4, is still very low.","PeriodicalId":34735,"journal":{"name":"JPFT Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika dan Teknologi","volume":"36 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90700830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Monte Carlo simulation is an important part of PET imaging, and the Particle Heavy Ion Transport code System (PHITS) is a simulation platform that can be used to perform Monte Carlo simulations. This study uses a Monte Carlo simulation based on PHITS to determine the range of gamma absorption with an energy of 511 keV in a scintillation detector crystal material. The gamma absorption range determines the effective crystal length in the PET modality. The simulation process is carried out by shooting Gamma at various types of materials, which are the materials used in PET scintillation crystals. The materials used in this simulation are NaI (Sodium Iodide), BaF2 (Barium Florida), BGO (Bismuth Germanate), and GSO (Gadolinium Oxyorthosilicate), considering their atomic number and crystal density. The crystal material is capable of absorbing gamma radiation with an energy of 511 keV with detailed crystal lengths for each NaI crystal of 0.26 cm; 0.25 cm BaF2 crystals; 0.1cm BGO crystals; and 0.18 cm GSO crystals. The crystal length from this simulation is smaller than the commercially available crystal length (range 1-3 cm). Based on the crystal length data, the most effective crystal for absorbing gamma radiation is the BGO crystal.","PeriodicalId":34735,"journal":{"name":"JPFT Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika dan Teknologi","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84797097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Students used as learning centers impact their understanding of the material or concepts being taught. However, students do not get to learn like that. It impacts students’ low level of understanding of physics concepts, especially the concept of motion. An alternative solution to this is using dominoes and ladders in physics learning. This study examines the effect of using two learning media (dominos and ladder snakes) on the understanding of physics concepts of class X students at MAN 1 Sumbawa. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a posttest-only design. The research sample was obtained using a purposive sampling technique. The number of research respondents was 138 students, who were divided into two experimental groups. Experimental Group 1 used domino media, and Experimental Group 2 used snakes and ladders media. The data collection instrument used was a concept understanding test in the form of filling in and multiple choice given after the treatment was given. The results showed that the domino group better understood the concept than the snakes and ladders group. The parametric prerequisite test shows that the students’ conceptual comprehension data is homogeneous and not normally distributed. The hypothesis test results show that the data’s significance value is less than 0.05. It can be concluded that there are significant differences in understanding the concept of motion between the domino group and the snakes and ladders group. Applying the domino game in physics learning is better than the snakes and ladders game in maximizing the students’ understanding of the concept of motion in MAN 1 Sumbawa.","PeriodicalId":34735,"journal":{"name":"JPFT Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika dan Teknologi","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83970586","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Newtonian mechanics is a cornerstone of contemporary science. Furthermore, despite its essential significance, multiple studies demonstrate how challenging it is to properly comprehend the key elements of Newton’s equations. Any initiatives to increase their teaching options are therefore encouraged. In order to help instructors in particular applications of Newton’s third rule of action-reaction, we provide an experimental instrument. Our method consists of two flexible plastic strip dynamometers that have miniature neodymium magnetic disks connected to them. The amount of force being transferred using a magnetic field is shown by the plastic strip’s radial distance. This very affordable arrangement is simple to assemble, efficient, and appropriate for many programs that call for many trial kits.","PeriodicalId":34735,"journal":{"name":"JPFT Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika dan Teknologi","volume":"31 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74615473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
