The author makes an in-depth diagnosis of the Polish education system in the context of the tension between ideas and ideologies, observing its ideologizing deformations on three planes: worldview, ideology, and politics. As a remedy for this state of affairs, he proposes the introduction of universal and obligatory philosophical education, based on a previously culturally awakened need of philosophy, from school to academic education. In the author's intention, the issue is about the necessity to change the educational paradigm towards one that corresponds to worldview pluralism, in which real and universal philosophical education should play a key role. This presentation is an attempt to look at the philosophical and educational reflection of Woźniczka, to show its strengths and weaknesses, to assess the opportunities for conceptual and practical application, to indicate internal tensions and paradoxes that govern it, and to signal development prospects. The aim of research is to present the inspiration from Gabriel Marcel’s thought for pedagogical reflection mutual relation between peace and education. The main research problem is analysis of the importance of the issue of peace that is present in the philosophy of Gabriel Marcel for reflection on personal development and education. The reflection process was conducted on the basis of an content analysis based in particular on Gabriel Marcel’s speech delivered on the occasion of the award Prix de la Pax granted by Union des Libraires allemands in 1964. The results of the analysis show that the source of peace is a genuine community between people. This spirit of community is manifested when each person finds in other person real existential qualities and values, when each person considers to be a value for the meaningfulness of its own being. {"title":"Coronavirus Generation as a legacy from the COVID-19 disease pandemic(?) – an attempt to characterize","authors":"Lucyna Myszka-Strychalska","doi":"10.16926/pe.2022.15.12","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.16926/pe.2022.15.12","url":null,"abstract":"The article attempts to answer the question: “How has the experience of the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic and the COVID-19 disease it causes contributed to shaping the Coronavirus Generation among adolescents?” Based on the review of the results of research on academic youth and young adults, which were carried out during the pandemic period, published in selected scientific articles, reports and internet sources, a description of changes taking place in various areas of their lives (such as: interpersonal relations, internal life, development personal, professional career, education, health, housing and material situation) and outlined the expected features that could define the representatives of the new generation. The main objective of my research took the form of questions: — how much of the study group takes selfies and posts them on social media? — how much does possible satisfaction/lack of satisfaction with life result in taking a selfie? Research strategy: two groups of students: from Poland and the Czech Republic. Purposive random selection. The research method is a diagnostic survey, the technique is a questionnaire, while the tool is a survey questionnaire consisting of extensive 15 questions. I found it interesting to compare the two groups of respondents, that is, young people from Poland and the Czech Republic. I tried to find out why they do so and whether it is due to, for example, satisfaction with life. Lipai, Evgeniya Khinevich","doi":"10.16926/pe.2021.14.09","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.16926/pe.2021.14.09","url":null,"abstract":"The problems of the relationship between language and society attract the attention of researchers from different countries representing various scientific areas: philosophy, history, biology, linguistics, theology, pedagogy, psychology, etc. This study actualizes the sociological approach to the study of the social determinants of the formation of polylingualism as a means of professional communication. According to the sociological results, about 70% of the world's population, to one degree or another, speaks two or more languages, which imposes additional obligations on workers providing international professional communications (Beacco, 2002). Modern multilingual interaction should not be one-sidedly understood only as a borrowing of professional foreign language terminology. It includes the social background of the linguistic material: traditions, mimic and pantomimic codes, the national picture of the world - and becomes the most important factor in professionalization. The technical structure of the course itself, and also methodological assumptions behind conducting it, are presented in this article as well. The description of the emplotment of the contents contained in it as a method of counteracting the phenomenon of abandoning the course and including intercultural contents into the curriculum of the course. I jak samemu nie wyjść na idiotę, translated by Maria Zawadzka-Strączek, Kraków: IW ZNAK, pp. 238. The title of the book of this French philosopher contains the word ‘idiota’ (which is the Polish word for ‘idiot’), which is the subject-matter of a multi-dimensional reflection in this paper. In the publication referred to in this paper, Rovere perceives idiots from the philosophical point of view as a problem relevant to relationships, society and psychology (intrapsychic). The author discusses the above-indicated issues in interdisciplinary terms, presenting the diverse possibilities of interpreting the notion referred to in the title of the book.
