This study aims to analyze students' science literacy skills. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method that aims to describe carefully and systematically the facts and nature of a particular population. The sample in this study was 56 students of Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Labuhanbatu. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Data collection techniques in the form of essay tests and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman Model. The results of the study showed that the science literacy ability of students of the Biology Education Study Program was still classified as \"low\". The highest science literacy ability was in the content aspect of 35.71% while for the lowest test results in the attitude aspect of 3.57%. The low ability of science literacy students of the Biology Education Study Program at Labuhanbatu University, so that efforts are made to improve, especially in aspects of attitudes that are still unsatisfactory by structuring the scope of the material provided and the lecture process carried out, choosing the right and interesting media/learning model so that the atmosphere in the lecture process becomes more effective.Abstrak Kemampuan literasi sains merupakan kemampuan seseorang untuk menerapkan pengetahuan ilmiah pada situasi dunia nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan menggambarkan secara cermat dan sistematis mengenai fakta dan sifat populasi tertentu. Sampel dalam penelitian ini mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Labuhanbatu yang berjumlah 56 mahasiswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes essay dan kuesioner. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan biologi masih tergolong “rendah”. Kemampuan literasi sains yang tertinggi yaitu pada aspek konten 35,71% sedangkan untuk hasil tes terendah pada aspek sikap yaitu 3,57%. Students' interest in learning decreased due to factors in learning methods that were less memorable and learning media factors that were less attractive. This study aims to describe the learning interest of class XI students at SMAN 1 Panai Hulu in biology subject. Subjects in the study were students XI IPA1, XI IPA2 and XI IPA3, with a total of 105 people. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The results of research that has been carried out with four indicators are obtained, namely the feeling of pleasure of students in participating in learning by 75.77%, student attention to learning by 70.78%, student interest in learning by 74.04%, student involvement in learning by 73.91 %. Based on these results, it can be concluded that students' interest in learning biology in class XI IPA1, XI IPA2 and XI IPA3 at SMAN 1 Panai Hulu is high. Even though students' learning interest is high, student activity is still influenced by the completeness of learning media.AbstrakMinat sangat menentukan hasil belajar siswa baik secara akademik maupun non akademik. Minat belajar siswa menurun dikarenakan faktor cara belajar yang kurang berkesan dan faktor media pembelajaran yang kurang menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan minat belajar siswa kelas XI di SMAN 1 Panai Hulu pada mata pelajaran biologi. Subjek dalam penelitian adalah siswa XI IPA1, XI IPA2 dan XI IPA3, dengan total sebanyak 105 orang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar angket, observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dengan empat indikator didapatkan yaitu perasaan senang siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran sebesar 75,77%, perhatian siswa terhadap pembelajaran sebesar 70,78%,  ketertarikan siswa terhadap pembelajaran sebesar 74,04%, keterlibatan siswa terhadap pembelajaran sebesar 73,91%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan minat belajar siswa kelas XI IPA1, XI IPA2 dan XI IPA3 di SMAN 1 Panai Hulu terhadap pembelajaran biologi adalah sangat tinggi. However, the involvement of students in learning activities in class is still low. The research aims to determine the need for ICT-based biology teaching materials and the constraints in applying them. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach, the subjects of the research were class X students, biology teachers, ICT teachers, and Deputy Principal for Curriculum. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. The research procedure goes through three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and member check. Based on the research results, the biology learning process still uses contextual models and lecture methods. It is also that 83.3% of students said they needed ICT teaching materials to understand the material, concretize abstract material, and increase interaction in the learning process. Constraints in implementing ICT-based teaching materials are classified into physical and non-physical facilities. Physical facilities in the form of learning equipment, while non-physical means lack time and lack of training in designing ICT-integrated learning. Teacher expertise in ICT-based learning needs to be trained so that students can be more active in the learning process.AbstrakBerdasarkan tuntutan kurikulum pembelajaran di kelas harus menciptakan suasana yang aktif, kreatif, analisis, dan kritis dalam pemecahan masalah melalui pengembangan keterampilan berpikir. Namun keterlibatan peserta didik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas masih rendah. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui kebutuhan bahan ajar biologi berbasis TIK dan kendala dalam menerapkannya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X, guru biologi, guru TIK dan Wakil Kepala Sekolah Bidang Kurikulum. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Prosedur penelitian melalui tiga tahap yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan member check. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, proses pembelajaran biologi masih menggunakan model kontekstual dan metode ceramah. Diketahui pula 83,3% peserta didik mengungkapkan membutuhkan bahan ajar TIK untuk memahami materi, mengkonkretkan materi yang abstrak, serta meningkatkan interaksi dalam proses pembelajaran. Kendala dalam menerapkan bahan ajar berbasis TIK digolongkan menjadi dua yaitu sarana fisik dan non fisik. Sarana fisik berupa peralatan belajar, sedangkan secara non fisik adalah kekurangan waktu dan belum terlatihnya dalam mendesain pembelajaran terintegrasi TIK. The purpose of this study is to analyze the preparation for the implementation of the independent curriculum and find out the preparation in the application of science learning which is a combination of science and social studies. The research was carried out from August 2022-January 2023, where the research was carried out at UPTD SD Negeri 09 Panai Tengah, Labuhanbatu Regency. The samples in this study were vice principals, curriculum representatives and grade 4 teachers as research subjects. Data collection techniques are carried out by in-depth interviews. This study used the miles and huberman method. The results of this study show that, in preparing for the implementation of the independent curriculum, there is science learning, schools will prepare learning equipment plans and prepare teaching materials, but still require training and application gradually. Currently, preparations towards the implementation of the independent curriculum in these schools have reached 75% and will be optimized and implemented in the 2023/2024 school year.Abstrak Kurikulum merdeka merupakan implementasi yang baru diciptakan, maka sekolah dan guru sebagai pendidik sangat berperan penting dalam menyukseskan program tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis persiapan penerapan kurikulum merdeka serta mengetahui persiapan dalam penerapan pembelajaran IPAS yang merupakan kombinasi dari IPA dan IPS. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Agustus 2022 – Januari 2023, tempat penelitian dilakukan di UPTD SD Negeri 09 Panai Tengah, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Sampel dalam Penelitian ini adalah wakil kepala sekolah, wakil bidang kurikulum dan guru kelas 4 sebagai subjek penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam (In-depth Interview). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode miles dan huberman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam mempersiapkan penerapan kurikulum merdeka, ada pembelajaran IPAS, sekolah akan menyusun rencana perangkat pembelajaran dan mempersiapkan bahan ajar, namun masih membutuhkan pelatihan dan penerapan secara bertahap. One of the functions of education is to develop skills and abilities and form a better sense of dignity in the context of educating the life of the nation. This study aims to be able to see and know the difficulties faced by biology education students in microteaching lessons at Labuhanbatu University. The method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The sample in this study was made up of all fifth-semester biology education students. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and interviews. The results of the research that has been carried out regarding the analysis of the difficulties of biology education students in microteaching learning at Labuhanbatu University are: use of learning methods (42.61%), mastery of material (42.15%), skills in teaching (52.67%), skills in opening learning (54.36%), readiness in learning (54.70%), skills to ask (46.79%), skills to close learning (50.81%), and skills to explain (40.81%). Microteaching is very important for students in preparing themselves as prospective teachers and adding insight and knowledge.Abstrak Pendidikan merupakan suatu bidang yang sangat penting bagi masa depan untuk mengembangkan keahlian dan kemampuan serta membentuk generasi yang lebih baik dalam rangka mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat melihat serta mengetahui kesulitan yang dihadapi mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam pembelajaran microteaching di Universitas Labuhanbatu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif deskriptif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan biologi semester lima, tehnik pengumpulan data berupa angket dan wawancara. Adapun hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan mengenai analisis kesulitan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam pembelajaran microteaching di Universitas Labuhanbatu yaitu: penggunaan metode pembelajaran (42.61%), penguasaan materi (42.15%), keterampilan dalam mengajar (52.67%), keterampilan dalam membuka pembelajaran (54.36%), kesiapan dalam pembelajaran (54.70%), keterampilan bertanya (47.69%), keterampilan menutup pembelajaran (50.81%), dan keterampilan menjelaskan (40.81%). The purpose of this study was to determine whether the Group To Group Exchange method has no effect on student learning outcomes on environmental change in one of the Islamic high schools in Medan. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a Nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Data analysis of student learning outcomes used the ttest formula, with the help of SPSS version 25 data processing. Data analysis of student learning outcomes by calculating the average learning outcomes showed that the experimental class using the Group to Group Exchange method was higher than the control class. The prerequisite test proved that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of the calculation of the ttest test show that tcount is higher than ttable, so there is an influence so that it shows tcount > ttable then Ha2 is accepted. The results of this study indicate that there are influences and differences before and after the application of the Group to Group Exchange method on student learning outcomes on environmental change material in one of the Islamic high schools in Medan so that the findings obtained can be applied by teachers in carrying out learning, especially biology subjects.Abstrak Rendahnya kemampuan hasil belajar siswa disebabkan guru tidak pernah memperdayakan kemampuan hasil belajar dan masih banyak guru yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya tidak pengaruh metode Group To Group Exchange terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi perubahan lingkungan di salah satu SMA Islam di Medan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan Nonequivalent pretest posttest control Group design. Analisis data hasil belajar peserta didik menggunakan rumus uji ttest, dengan bantuan pengolahan data SPSS versi 25. Analisis data hasil belajar peserta didik dengan hasil perhitungan rerata hasil belajar menunjukan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode Group to Group Exchange lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol. Uji prasyarat terbukti data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil perhitungan uji ttest diperoleh bahwa thitung lebih tinggi dari ttabel, maka ada pengaruh sehingga menunjukan thitung > ttabel maka Ha2 diterima. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dan perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode Group to Group Exchange terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi perubahan lingkungan di salah satu SMA Islam di Medan. The research aims to determine scientific literacy skills in aspects of student content on the Basidiomycota topic. This research was conducted at the Biology Department, FMIPA, Medan State University. The population of this study were all 122 students of the Biology Study Program class of 2021 at Medan State University. The sample of this research is 31 people using purposive sampling technique. The research design is quantitative descriptive. The results of research on scientific literacy abilities on aspects of student content on the Basidiomycota topic are in the conceptual science literacy category with an average percentage of 78.02%. The results of this study indicate that the conceptual scientific literacy category of students is still at the stage of understanding the Basidiomycota topic conceptually or in general and does not yet have a specific understanding. These results can be improved by looking for accurate references to journals and books in order to better understand the Basidiomycota topic so that their scientific literacy skills reach the category of multidimensional scientific literacy.Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan berkaitan dengan tuntutan abad 21 yaitu kemampuan untuk menyelesaikan setiap permasalahan yang dihadapi, dengan adanya pengukuran kemampuan literasi sains pada aspek konten dapat mengatasi permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi sains pada aspek konten mahasiswa pada topik Basidiomycota. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Jurusan Biologi FMIPA Universitas Negeri Medan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Biologi angkatan 2021 Universitas Negeri Medan yang berjumlah 122 orang. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 31 orang dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian kemampuan literasi sains pada aspek konten mahasiswa topik Basidiomycota dalam kategori literasi sains konseptual dengan persentase rata-rata 78,02%. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan kategori literasi sains konseptual mahasiswa masih pada tahap mengerti topik Basidiomycota secara konsep atau secara umum dan belum memiliki pemahaman secara spesifik. The type of research used is research and development (Research and development or R&D) and the development model used is adapting from the Borg & Gall model stage which is limited to the fourth stage, namely 1. Information Gathering, 2. Planning, 3. Product Design, 4. Validation Test by Experts and Product Revision. The results of material expert validation with an average presentation of 82.1%, with a fairly valid category with minor revisions, because there are several suggestions and inputs from the validator that need to be revised slightly. The components of the validation aspect by media expert validation consist of 3 components, namely: presentation of material, content and completeness of presentation. The results of the media expert validation with an average presentation of 81.2% with a fairly valid category but with minor revisions according to input from media experts. The components of the media expert validation aspect consist of 2 components, namely the feasibility of display and presentation.Abstrak Penelitian pengembangan dilaksanakan untuk menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) berbasis project yang valid dari para ahli. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and development atau R&D) dan model pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu mengadaptasi dari tahap model Borg & Gall yang dibatasi hingga tahapan keempat yaitu 1. Pengumpulan Informasi, 2. Perencanaan, 3. Desain Produk, 4. Uji Validasi Oleh Pakar dan Revisi Produk. Hasil validasi ahli materi dengan rata-rata presentasi 82,1%, dengan katagori cukup valid dengan revisi kecil, karena ada beberapa saran dan masukan dari validator yang perlu direvisi sedikit. Adapun komponen aspek validasi oleh validasi ahli media terdiri dari atas 3 komponen yaitu: penyajian materi, isi dan kelengkapan penyajian. Hasil validasi ahli media dengan rata-rata presentasi 81, 2% dengan katergori cukup vali namun dengan revisi kecil sesuai masukan dari ahli media. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of popular scientific books. The research method uses formative evaluation based on Tessmer's design which consists of self-evaluation, expert validation (3 lecturers), individual test (3 students), small group test (5 students) and field test (10 students). The results of the research on the effectiveness of the BIP as a result of the development found that the criteria were very good for use by high school students because they had been fulfilled, which meant that the BIP was easy to use. This is supported by the positive response from students towards learning using the developed BIP. Students' critical thinking skills are included in the medium category with an average N-Gain of 0.5 so that they can be implemented in learning. In conclusion, the development of BIP development results is effectively used in an effort to train students' critical thinking skills.Abstrak Belum ada dilakukan penelitian di Kawasan objek wisata Pagat yang memiliki berbagai macam jenis tanaman hias yang dapat diolah sebagai bahan ajar berbentuk buku ilmiah popular berbasis potensi lokal untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan buku ilmiah popular. Metode penelitian menggunakan evaluasi formatif berdasarkan desain Tessmer yang terdiri dari evaluasi diri, validasi ahli (3 dosen), uji perorangan (3 siswa), uji kelompok kecil (5 siswa) dan uji lapangan (10 siswa). Hasil penelitian keefektifan BIP hasil pengembangan mendapatkan kriteria sangat baik digunakan oleh siswa SMA karena telah terpenuhi yang artinya BIP mudah untuk digunakan. Hal ini didukung oleh respon positif dari siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan BIP hasil pengembangan. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa termasuk kategori sedang dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,5 sehingga dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran. Critical thinking skills can be optimized with the development of learning resources. This research aims to develop learning resources in the form of problem-based teaching materials. The research method uses R&D (Research and Development) with a qualitative descriptive approach. Research data collection instruments in the form of interview sheets for teacher needs analysis and student needs analysis questionnaires, as well as students' critical thinking skills. The results of the needs analysis of 60 grade XI science students found that 66.7% had a handbook for learning biology, but 96.7% only had a handbook in the form of daily material, the majority of which were difficult for students to understand. So according to 78.3% of students the handbook used is inadequate as a learning resource, 86.6% of students need other learning resources to support learning activities, and 86.7% of students need other learning resources that can be understood independently. The results of the critical thinking test analysis of 50 grade XI science students were obtained 15.73%, which is included in the very low category. These results show the need to develop teaching materials in the form of problem-based digestive system interactive E-modules.Abstrak Proses pembelajaran di sekolah masih mengalami beberapa permasalahan, diantaranya dalam membantu peserta didik untuk memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis dapat dioptimalkan dengan pengembangan sumber belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sumber belajar berupa bahan ajar berbasis masalah. Metode penelitian menggunakan R&D (Research and Development) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen pengumpulan data penelitian berupa lembar wawancara untuk analisis kebutuhan guru dan angket analisis kebutuhan siswa, serta keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Hasil analisis kebutuhan dari 60 siswa kelas XI IPA diperoleh 66,7% memiliki buku pegangan untuk pembelajaran biologi, namun 96,7% hanya memiliki buku pegangan berupa materi sehari-hari yang mayoritas sulit dipahami oleh siswa. Sehingga menurut 78,3% siswa buku pegangan yang digunakan kurang memadai sebagai sumber belajar, 86,6% siswa membutuhkan sumber belajar lain untuk mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran, dan 86,7% siswa membutuhkan sumber belajar lain yang dapat dipahami secara mandiri. Hasil analisis tes berpikir kritis 50 siswa kelas XI IPA diperoleh 15,73%, dimana hal tersebut termasuk kategori sangat rendah.
