The development of the tourism sector is of great socio-economic importance and involves efforts aimed at the tourist and recreational development of territories and increasing the share of the non-resource sector in the economy. For the development of domestic and inbound tourism, Russia has all the necessary resources and unique opportunities to meet the vital needs of the country's population in tourism and recreation. Sustainable tourism development is directly related to strategic planning, involving the development and systematic implementation of concepts, strategies, programs, roadmaps, and master plans for the development of territories. Most documents of strategic planning of the tourism sector include a cluster approach, which contributes to the sustainable development of tourism and is an effective tool for integrated management of territories and increasing the regions’ competitiveness. The management of territories aimed at the sustainable development of tourism should be systematically linked to the existing set of programs for the regions’ socio-economic development. The article presents an analysis of the documents of strategic planning of the tourism sector at the federal and regional levels, which revealed the achievements and shortcomings of their implementation. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the federal target program ‘Development of domestic and inbound tourism in the Russian Federation (2011–2018)’ and its effectiveness, the regions’ activities in the development and implementation of a system of strategic planning documents, and the effectiveness of management of the sustainable tourism development.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"977 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134155880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The placement of traditional cemetery monuments in it, installed at the place of people’s death, transfers the symbolism of death from strictly defined places of cemeteries into public space and turns it into sceneries of death or landscapes of death. It is no coincidence that many of the motorists and professional drivers who use such highways say that it is like driving in a cemetery. This article is the first in Russia to analyze this modern phenomenon based on the material obtained from a survey of part of three federal highways (A 151, R 241, R 178). It is shown that in Russia roadside monuments are not limited to the Christian cross, and their locations are much more diverse than in Europe and North America. In general, there are two trends – to place roadside monuments as close to the highway as possible (on the roadside, slope, behind the bump or on it) and in or near the green zone (in the forest or forest plantation) and a transitional one – to place them in the roadside lane. In the first case, the choice of the location is conditioned by the desire to approach the place of death of a loved one as close as possible, the second case demonstrates the desire to protect the memorial sign, to place it in accordance with the tradition of cemetery, primarily rural cemetery, where trees on the graves played an important role. Our analysis shows that different types of roadside monuments have different effects on the formation of the cultural landscape along the highways. Memorials are the most striking examples of ‘cemetery culture’, they mostly reformat the roadside space into landscapes or sceneries of death. In turn, gazebos, flowerpots with live or artificial flowers that do not have traditional plaques and photographs of the dead, i.e. do not reproduce the cemetery tradition, do this to the minimum extent. Crosses, steles and obelisks as the most typical cemetery structures occupy, to a certain extent, an intermediate position between memorials and flowerpots and gazebos.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130831258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Perm urban agglomeration is no exception. The replacement of part of agricultural land with forest geosystems has become a widespread process here in recent decades, as in the entire Perm region. The paper attempts to establish the scale, pace and main causes of afforestation within the agglomeration, which is done based on the example of the Babkinsko-Yugovskoy landscape, occupying the biggest part of the agglomeration. Earth remote sensing data (Landsat open satellite data) provide a large spatial and multi-temporal coverage for analyzing the landscape and obtaining qualitative data on changes in vegetation cover over several decades. Increase in the areas of restorative successions, which started in the 1990s, reached the highest values in the period from 2010 to 2020 (6,48%). This process mainly affected agricultural lands. The main natural factors of land differentiation in terms of the scale and rate of withdrawal from agricultural use are the small contours of a large part of agricultural land and difference in soil fertility.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117329849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We propose a method for calculating a complex indicator that can take into account heterogeneous characteristics of soil pollution: the multiplicity of excess of conditionally natural background concentrations, the frequency of exceeding the maximum permissible concentrations of pollutants, their hazard class, the soil use category and ability of soils to regenerate. For this, we used transition from numerical values of soil pollution parameters to a vector space. The complex indicator of soil pollution involves totaling the lengths of vectors of established priority pollutants that have a high or extremely high impact on soil pollution according to a set of heterogenous parameters. The priority scale of pollutants is based on well-known scientifically grounded gradations of soil pollution parameters. With the help of standard and the proposed methods for calculating integral soil pollution, the geoecological situation was determined at a distance of up to 8,4 km from the reference point of the aerodrome during its regular operation and during reconstruction. The proposed combined indicator of soil pollution differs from the existing ones with greater accuracy and objectivity.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"12 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126120700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Another problem is the lack of approaches in remote monitoring to the development of an integral indicator of the trophicity of water bodies. The purpose of this study is to develop models for calculating biotic and abiotic indicators for assessing the state of a reservoir, as well as an integral indicator of its trophicity. To achieve this goal, the tasks were set to compare the possibilities of using satellite images to assess water bodies, to calculate the trophic indicators of Lake Baikal according to existing models, adapting them, if necessary, to develop models for calculating biotic and abiotic indicators, to develop an integral assessment of the trophicity of Lake Baikal, and describe the algorithm for obtaining it. The object of the study is Lake Baikal. The subject of the study is the assessment of the reservoir’s trophicity. In terms of theoretical and methodological basis, the study relies on research works of Russian and foreign authors in the field of assessing the trophicity of water bodies, geographic information systems (GIS) as well as Earth remote sensing data (ERS). The methods of spatial analysis and correlation-regression analysis were used. The empirical and information-statistical bases of the work include statistical and analytical publications in the press on the topic under study, statistical data of the Russian Federation, foreign statistics, data from seminars and conferences on the problems of assessing the trophicity of water bodies, and the use of GIS and remote sensing data in assessing the state of water bodies. The scientific and practical novelty and significance of the results obtained lie in the development of an algorithm for assessing the trophicity of the reservoir using GIS and remote sensing. The parameters of models for calculating the Secchi disk transparency and chlorophyll-a concentration have been estimated. It is proposed to use rank assessment for express evaluation of the trophicity of water bodies, and an appropriate scale has been developed to determine the type of trophicity of the reservoir. An algorithm for estimating the trophicity of the reservoir is described.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129794708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The world population growth and the industrial development, the acute problem of water scarcity and the interseasonal redistribution of runoff – all this also puts direct pressure on water resources. Assessment of water consumption prospects appears to be a highly relevant issue. Within the framework of this study, possible prospective water consumption was assessed for the territory of all administrative districts of the Tambov region. The calculations were made on the basis of the annual flow volume of 75% and 95% of the water supply sufficiency and correlated with the annual water consumption in the region. The work is based on the data on the use of surface water resources in the Tambov region for the period from 2003 to 2020, as well as materials on the region’s major water users, provided by specialized organizations. The results obtained made it possible to assess the possible prospective water consumption and make a conclusion about a high water management potential of the majority of administrative districts of the Tambov region. Bondarsky, Gavrilovsky, Inzhavinsky, Kirsanovsky, Mordovsky, Muchkapsky, Rasskazovsky, Rzhaksinsky, Tokarevsky, Umetsky districts appear to be particularly promising from this perspective, while the prospects for the development of water consumption from surface sources in the Sampursky district can be assessed as poor.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129794496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this work is to compare the distribution of Mo, W and Mo/W ratio in the components of geosystems near the western shores of Lake Onega. To achieve this goal, the content of the metals in soils, bottom sediments, river water and, additionally, street dust and road asphalt was determined, dependence graphs were constructed, linear correlation coefficients were calculated. The most polluted soils are those in the central part of Petrozavodsk, while the least polluted are those in the rest of the city. The geometric mean content of Mo and W is maximum in the fraction < 0,1 mm of the soils at the former Onega Tractor Plant site (20,9 and 70,9 mg/kg, respectively); the content is lower in large fractions 1,0–0,1 mm (4,84–8,26 and 15,6–26,3 mg/kg). Mo/W ratio in the soils of the industrial site is on average lower than in the soils of the rest of the city. The soils of the South-Western Onega region are not polluted with the studied metals. There is no statistically significant correlation between Mo and W in most soils, with the exception of the most contaminated ones. Bottom sediments of the urban Lososinka River contain an average of 2,70 mg/kg Mo and 3,73 mg/kg W, while the suburban section of the Shuya River contains 0,573 and 0,572 mg/kg, respectively. In the urban river water, the geometric mean of Mo/W ratio varies from 0,090 (dry weather) to 0,385 (rain). Both values differ considerably from the literature data due to significant tungsten contamination. When conducting geoecological monitoring in the future, more attention should be paid to various sources of harmful metal pollution. These studies are important for reducing health risks associated with pollution.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"430 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132505872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
