Volova","doi":"10.17072/2079-7877-2022-4-149-166","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17072/2079-7877-2022-4-149-166","url":null,"abstract":"Tourism and recreation play an increasingly important role in the economy of regions located in the European territory of Russia. Their importance in the arrangement of space is also constantly increasing. It is essential to include tourism and recreation in the territorial development programs, which, in turn, requires elaboration of concepts for their promotion at inter-regional, regional, and intra-regional levels. The concept of tourism and recreation development is based on a comprehensive assessment of the territory, taking into account its stable characteristics and dynamic indicators. The areal nature of recreational impacts determines the choice of spatial assessment methods. Structurally, the concept of tourism and recreation development contains three blocks: informational, analytical, and practical. The article discusses the concept formation methodology based on two geographical methods: tourist-recreational zoning and construction of a tourist-recreational frame of the region. The practical part of the study is based on the territory of the Ustyansky district of the Arkhangelsk region. The application of the developed methodology to a specific region made it possible to step by step follow the algorithm for using spatial assessment when working with two blocks of the concept: the informational block, which includes a description of the tourist and recreational potential and the current state of the tourism industry, and the analytical block, which defines priority areas for the development of tourism and recreation. The article also shows the formation of the practical block of the concept based on the data collected. It contains ideas concerning promotion of the region’s tourism potential and the main tools for implementing the concept. Spatial assessment makes it possible not only to outline the directions of tourism development in the region but also to give recommendations for organizing high-quality recreation for local residents. The materials of the article can be used to formulate methodological recommendations on the preparation of tourism and recreation development concepts at various regional levels.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131718708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was based on the geobotanical monitoring in two burnt-out areas, differing in the degree and area of damage due to a creeping fire in 2010. We studied the species composition of the stand, shrub layer and plant communities at different time periods between 2014 and 2020. The emergence of the first shoots of undergrowth and new growth was noted; the size of the projective cover and the abundance dynamics of the species of all forest layers were established. The analysis of the dynamics of natural reforestation revealed the similarity of the main geobotanical indicators. Pine (Pinus sylvestris) sprouts dominated in the undergrowth of the sites under consideration, and only a small percentage fell to the share of silver birch (Betula pendula). The shrub layer consisted of prickly wild rose (Rosa acicularis); daurian rhododendron (Rhododendron dauricum) was noted there only at the late observation stages. In the herbaceous layer, meadow species with a small participation of forest species made up the largest share. There were revealed differences in the time of emergence of the first sprouts of undergrowth and new growth, as well as in the size of the projective cover of species in all forest layers. The first sprouts of pine on a heavily burnt-out key plot were noted a year earlier than on the less transformed area. Nevertheless, the height increment and the projective cover of the undergrowth were significantly greater within the burnt-out area with the medium-degree damage. On the territory heavily damaged by wildfire, we observed pine seedlings planted by the staff of the National Park. Satisfactory survival rate of the seedlings at the initial stage and further deceleration of growth parameters were noted. The results obtained indicate the reforestation success and, therefore, a favorable forecast for post-fire recovery of light coniferous forests in the Badary urochishche.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130096103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As part of the study, we have developed a system of automated determination of synoptic type based on a two-stage procedure, including decomposition of mean sea level pressure fields via principal component analysis and the subsequent clustering of decomposition coefficients using K-means. It has been established that GFS forecasts are more dependent on synoptic type in summer than in winter. The decline of forecast quality, expressed in systematic underestimation of forecast temperature by 0.6°–1.2°, is noted for synoptic types associated with warm air advection.: In contrast, GEM forecasts tend to lack accuracy in winter. A sharp decrease in forecast quality has been discovered in the central area of anticyclone at night, when the forecast accuracy drops to 44%. The obtained results could be useful in operational forecasting and model postprocessing.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127827123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the past, similar studies for Ulyanovsk were conducted only until 2004 and only based on average monthly data. Our research aims to show the trend in the change of the environmental comfort in the early 21st century, in the context of continuing global warming, within a small area, over different time intervals – from a decade to a year. Using daily weather observation data of the AMSG Ulyanovsk-I station (Baratayevka) we performed calculations of the effective temperature, equivalent-effective temperature, Bodman weather severity index, pathogenicity index, and tourist climate index. An analysis of the values obtained identified the most comfortable conditions during the year – those favorable for the health of the population, for rest and recreation activities. To receive the results, we additionally divided months into ten-day periods, which allowed us to see that, in general, the comfort of weather conditions in Ulyanovsk has been increasing since the beginning of the century, with a positive trend formed mainly due to the winter period. According to the Bodman severity index calculations, softening of weather conditions during the winter period occurs at a rate of 0.2–0.5 points/10 years. The greatest softening of winters takes place in the second and third decades of January. Calculation of the region’s tourist attractiveness showed that from the third decade of April to the third decade of September inclusive, there are comfortable weather conditions for tourist activities, with the best conditions falling on the period from the third decade of June to the second decade of August inclusive.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126923101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Riverbed processes are among the most dynamic ones in nature: the speed of their manifestation varies from the first decades to individual months in high water and floods, i.e. they develop in full view of people. This can significantly complicate life on the banks of rivers and the use of river resources. The article deals with dangerous manifestations of riverbed processes, their causes and consequences, but the main part of the paper is devoted to the cartographic method of assessing the danger of riverbed processes: determining the danger degree and various ways of displaying it on maps. There are given examples of showing danger on previously compiled maps. In conclusion, the article provides a brief geographical analysis of the distribution of various types and the manifestation degree of dangerous riverbed processes in a variety of natural conditions in Russia.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129643477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The specific features of Russian space (characterized by vastness, heterogeneity, and non-static character) predetermine a permanent objective demand for diversified geographical knowledge, including its socio-economic (human) component. The article aims to identify challenges and problematic situations that came to face the community of Russian geographers-social scientists in the spring of 2022 (in theoretical and conceptual, scientific and applied, educational and organizational aspects) as well as to analyze and assess the development potential of domestic socio-economic geography. This should be done based on the understanding of the experience and lessons of its ‘historical track,’ first of all, the evolution of ideas and approaches in the 20th century, a complicated period, characterized by numerous transformations, crises, and cataclysms. The information and factual scientific material presented in the article includes key publications of Russian economic geographers published in the period from the early 1920s to the mid-1990s in two leading high-status geographical periodicals, the oldest in Russia – Proceedings of the Russian Geographical Society and Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk. Seriya Geograficheskaya (Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Geographical Series). Based on the analysis of these periodicals, it is established that reliance on the domestic economic and geographical intellectual and ‘behavioral’ heritage provides the professional research community with guidelines in solving most of the current and potential tasks facing it. The paper shows that the development of Russian human geography can be driven by a significant increase in its practical orientation, complemented by an emphasis on ‘Russia-centered’ research, while maintaining structural, thematic, and methodological pluralism of research works, as well as involvement in international collaborations.","PeriodicalId":345845,"journal":{"name":"Географический вестник = Geographical bulletin","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130092651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Под такими агломерациями предложено понимать территориальные скопления поселений, наиболее тесно взаимодействующих посредством новейших информационнокоммуникационных технологий. Среди будущих технологий полного погружения в виртуальную реальность особо выделен «Тактильный Интернет». Для его реализации необходимы сверхмалые задержки в сетях электросвязи. Выполнение этого условия позволяет выделять цифровые агломерации как скопления городских поселений, в пределах которых между двумя любыми точками задержка в передаче информации не превышает одну миллисекунду. Предложен алгоритм идентификации цифровых агломераций. Его выполнение позволило выделить в Сибири 15 цифровых агломераций. Перечислены города и поселки городского типа, вошедшие в каждую агломерацию. Ядра 9 цифровых агломераций совпали с ядрами обычных городских агломераций.
