In its formation, proverbs use expressions and word choices related to life around the community and cannot be separated from the cultural values it wishes to express. One of the constituent elements is the use of the parts of the human body which philosophically contain a symbolic meaning that can be interpreted. In this paper, French proverbs containing these terms are described, their meanings examined, and then compared with Sundanese proverbs. The aim is to find the universal values of proverbs from different cultural backgrounds. This research was conducted using a descriptive-comparative method with a cultural semantics approach. The results of the study show that the parts of the human body used in French proverbs are the names of the parts of the human body themselves, both the external parts and the organs inside the human body. Apart from that, the functions of the parts, their abilities, or disabilities are also found in the data. Nanakusa-gayu is rice porridge especially served by mixing seven kinds of leaves that are considered sacred by the Japanese. The seven types of leaves include seri, nazuna, hakobera, suzuna, suzushiro, hotokenoza, and gogyou leaves. This research discusses the tradition of eating nanakusa-gayu dishes for Japanese society in this modern era. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data in the form of tweets from social media twitter on January 7, 2023. The results of the research show that there are still many Japanese people who carry out the tradition of eating nanakusa porridge. However, there have been several shifts in tradition, such as the ingredients, when to eat, how to get the ingredients, to the members of the family who participate in eating the nanakusa porridge. In addition, it is also known that there is correlation between the implementation of the nanakusa-gayu tradition with the hope of avoiding various kinds of diseases. This correlation cannot be separated from the activity of picking baby vegetables which is the basic core of the nanakusa-gayu tradition. This activity requires a person to keep moving along the streets while looking for baby vegetables. Manfaat penelitian ini, pembelajar bahasa Jepang dapat memahami proses terjadinya penyematan vokal pada gairaigo secara detail dalam lirik lagu bahasa Jepang. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Hirayama tentang fonem vokal dalam bahasa Jepang, teori Kawarazaki dan Kubozono tentang penyematan fonem vokal pada silabel tertutup, dan perubahan silabelnya dalam gairaigo, teori Sutedi tentang mora dan silabel. Metode penelitian ini metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Sumber data dari album lagu Traveler grup band Jepang Official Hige Dandism (Higedan) dengan data berupa gairaigo yang mengalami proses penyematan vokal. Peneliti menggunakan teknik studi pustaka untuk mengumpulkan data, kemudian menganalisis dengan teknik deskriptif. Hasil temuannya yakni, gairaigo yang mengalami proses penyematan vokal sebanyak 15 kata yang dibagi menjadi 3. Pertama, penyematan fonem vokal di awal kata sebanyak 5 kata, yakni furiidamu (フリーダム), adobanteeji (アドバンテージ), sutookaa (ストーカー), kurosuwaado (クロスワード) dan sutoorii (ストーリー ). Kedua, penyematan fonem vokal di tengah kata sebanyak 2 kata yakni, iesutadai (イエスタデイ) dan kontorooru (コントロール). Ketiga, penyematan fonem vokal di akhir kata sebanyak 8 kata yakni, poketto (ポケット), patto (パット), binteeji (ビンテージ), endo (エンド), fitto (フィット), taaminaru (ターミナル), rokku (ロック), dan souru (ソウル). Penelitian ini menggunakan teori konflik yang dikemukakan oleh Lewin, yang membagi konflik batin menjadi tiga, yaitu konfik mendekat-mendekat, mendekat-menjauh dan menjauh-menjauh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi serta memaknai bentuk konflik batin pada tokoh utama dalam cerpen Sumidagawa karya Nagai Kafu. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah memberikan kontribusi terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, khususnya dalam ilmu kesusastraan Jepang di Indonesia. Bagi pembaca umum, artikel penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkenalkan karya dari Nagai Kafu sebagai referensi bacaan khususnya pada cerpen Sumidagawa, serta sebagai sarana bagi pembaca untuk mengapresiasi karya kontemporer kesusastraan Jepang. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif deskriptif untuk menganalisis tiap-tiap bentuk konflik batin tokoh utama dalam setiap alur cerita cerpen Sumidagawa. Sumber data penelitian ini berasal dari cerpen Sumidagawa karya Nagai Kafu yang termuat dalam perpustakaan digital Aozora Bunko beserta buku terjemahan bahasa Indonesia berjudul Sungai Sumida yang termuat dalam Kumpulan Cerita Pendek Jepang oleh Hanafi (2017). Hasil penelitian dari konflik batin Chokichi berdasarkan teori konflik Lewin menunjukkan bahwa pada dirinya mengalami bentuk konflik mendekat-menjauh dan konflik menjauh-menjauh. It occurs when individuals use elements from different languages within a single utterance, whether it be a word, phrase, or clause. Code-mixing is not limited to oral communication; it is also prevalent in written forms, including literary works such as novels. One of the novels that employs code-mixing is Antares by Rweinda. The characters in the novel utilize code-mixing to communicate with each other. Therefore, this study addresses two main questions: what are the types and forms of code-mixing present in the novel Antares by Rweinda. The types of code-mixing include inner and outer code-mixing, while the forms of code-mixing encompass words, phrases, and clauses. This study aims to examine and describe the types and forms of code-mixing in Rweinda's novel, Antares. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method to effectively describe the data, focusing on the main research objectives. The results indicated the presence of two types of code-mixing: six instances of inner code-mixing, including Sundanese and Javanese, and thirteen instances of outer code-mixing, such as English and Arabic. Meanwhile, in terms of form, code-mixing was observed in fourteen instances in word forms, where English words dominated. Additionally, five instances were identified in phrase form, also predominantly consisting of English words. The corpus-based analysis was used to acquire lexical bundles qualification of frequency and range. A number of bundles which were listed in the corpus were identified structurally and functionally using taxonomy approach by Biber et al., (2004). Further analysis was conducted to connect lexical bundles expression with rhetorical move. Connecting lexical bundles and move analysis in research articles aims to test whether lexical bundles can be used as move markers in academic discourse. The classification of move in a full-length research articles was adapted from Nwogu (1997). In the various structural and functional forms of bundles which are found in this study bring to the list of lexical bundles which indicate various move. The finding of this research is mainly supporting previous study where some bundles expressions have strong connection to rhetorical move in research article. Other finding shows that lexical bundles expressions could occur in more than one move. Analisis makna menggunakan teori semiotika Peirce melalui klasifikasi jenis tanda yang dilihat dari objeknya yaitu ikon berupa gambar tokoh kabuki, indeks berupa warna dan jenis riasan yang digunakan tokoh kabuki dan simbol berupa hubungan warna dengan karakter tokoh kabuki. Klasifikasi tanda tersebut telah digunakan untuk memaknai warna dalam tata rias wajah kabuki. Sumber data yang digunakan pada tulisan ini merupakan sumber data primer berbentuk video pertunjukan kabuki berjudul Shibaraku yang diunduh dari YouTube. Metode yang digunakan pada tulisan ini ialah metode kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, makna dan nama riasan tokoh dapat diketahui, tata rias wajah karakter protagonis yaitu riasan kumadori sujiguma dengan warna merah yang memiliki makna kebaikan dan keadilan. Sebaliknya, tata rias wajah karakter antagonis yaitu riasan kumadori kugeare dengan warna biru yang memiliki makna dingin atau kejam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pencapaian aktualisasi diri tokoh Kaizaki dalam naskah drama “RELIFE”. Permasalahan yang diteliti adalah (1) upaya mencapai aktualisasi diri tokoh Kaizaki, (2) ciri-ciri aktualisasi diri pada tokoh utama. Penelitian ini dikaji menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah naskah drama “RELIFE” karya Yayoiso. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode kepustakaan. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori pendekatan psikologi humanistik milik Abraham Maslow untuk mengetahui upaya pencapaian aktualisasi diri, dan ciri-ciri individu yang telah mengaktualisasi diri. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tokoh utama Kaizaki telah berhasil mencapai aktualisasi diri dengan memenuhi kebutuhan-kebutuhan dasar sesuai dengan hierarki kebutuhan. Selain itu tokoh Kaizaki memiliki 12 dari 13 ciri-ciri aktualisasi diri yang ada. Penelitian ini membahas jenis kigo dan makna kigo yang terkandung dalam haiku karya Kobayashi Issa dengan pendekatan semiotik. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori jenis kigo menurut Higginson menyatakan bahwa kigo dibagi menjadi tujuh kategori, yaitu Jikou, tenmon, chiri, seikatsu, gyouji, doubutsu, shokubutsu. Sementara untuk makna kigo digunakan teori segitiga makna Pierce, makna kigo diklasifikasikan maknanya menjadi ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti akan menganalisis makna kigo yang terkandung dalam haiku karya Kobayashin Issa dengan teori Semiotik. Data yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kigo yang terdapat dalam haiku karya Kobayashi Issa sebanyak 15 haiku yang diambil dari bulu kumpulan haiku yang ditulis oleh Yuzura Miura diterbitkan oleh The Charles E. Tutle company tahun 1991 Tokyo. Berdasarkan hasil analisis didapat simpulan sebagai berikut: Jenis kigo yang ditemukan adalah kigo doubutsu, kigo tenmon, kigo seikatsu, kigo shokubutsu, kigo chiri, sedangkan kigo jikou dan gyouji tidak ditemukan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumentasi dan dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penyebab awal dari neurotic distres yaitu kecemasan dasar dan permusuhan dasar oleh orang tuanya sendiri. Selain itu terdapat konflik yaitu konflik intrapsikis yang terdapat diri rendah yang berasal dari evaluasi bersifat negatif dari orang tuanya dan diri ideal yang Naruse ciptakan berbentuk khayalan dan keyakinan yang membuatnya menjadi tertutup dan tidak berbicara. Dalam konflik interpersonal terdapat kebutuhan kasih sayang dan penerimaan, kebutuhan partner, membatasi hidup pada ruang lingkup yang sempit, pengakuan sosisal dan mencukupi diri. Cara mengatasi neurotic distress yang dialami Naruse yaitu dengan cara memperbaiki dua konflik tersebut. Pada konflik Interpersonal Naruse mempunyai kecenderungan mendekat, cara ini hampir berhasil dalam membantu mengungkapkan apa yang ingin diutarakan, namun tidak saat mendengar Sakagami tidak memiliki rasa yang sama.
