The DC-DC converter used in this study is a buck converter which has operating frequency of 100 kHz and the turn-on and turn-off times of the JFET are equal to ten nanoseconds. It is well known that the switching times have a direct link to the spectrum of the EMI sources. Thus, in order to reduce the conducted emissions induced by the SiC-converter, it's necessary to add an EMI filter in order to compliance the EMC standard. In this study, a design method of the EMI filter based on the simulation approach is proposed. For this, a high frequency model based on the electrical equivalent circuit of the filter which takes into account of all impedances of the system is proposed. However, values of the different elements of this model are determined by a new approach. The improvement provided by this model is important in high frequencies (above 1 MHz) taking into account the measured impedances of different propagation paths of the common mode currents of the system. The conducted emissions measured without and with the obtained EMI filter show the effectiveness of the proposed design method.","PeriodicalId":344918,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123270025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This circuital configuration allows obtaining of the high voltage amplification needed in individual panel applications. The operation principle of the proposed circuit is analyzed and a proper calibration of the PV panel simulation model is performed. The adopted control strategy is based upon sliding control technique in order to exploit its well-known properties of robustness. Furthermore, a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) approach based on a Incremental Conductance (IC) algorithm is used to track the actual maximum power point. Finally, the numerical results reported in the paper permit to confirm the feasibility of the proposed design and control strategy.","PeriodicalId":344918,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116516412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is done by designing a digital controller that allows the VRM to behave as much as possible as an ideal voltage source with a very small series resistor. This can be achieved through different possible choices of controlling schema. We show that, considering also effects due to parasitics, controlling schema reflect on stability and on the admissible minimum size of the capacitor bank filtering the VRM output voltage. Moreover we show how the output impedance of the VRM degrades versus lowering of the bank size. This is done by resorting to a general and efficient technique, already presented in the literature, allowing to (i) determine the periodic steady state behaviour of these circuits together with their stability and (ii) derive time varying transfer functions such as, for example, the output impedance of VRMs.","PeriodicalId":344918,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128234734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A capacitor fed 2-level inverter is used on an open-end winding induction motor to suppress all 5th and 7th order harmonics. A PWM scheme that maintains the capacitor voltage, while suppressing the harmonics is also proposed. This paper describes the influence of grid-connected inverters on the distribution grid. The impact of the voltage distortion from the inverter to the distribution grid is relative small without grid impedance. When the grid impedance is involved, the distortion will become higher and so, more harmonics will be injected into the grid. The impact of the current distortion is especially high at low power output, but decreases fast at moderate or high power. If the background distortion of the grid increases, there will be an increase of the voltage and current harmonics. The specific limits of the EN 50160 and IEC 61000-3-12 could be exceeded at such high pollution.","PeriodicalId":344918,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128791179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In most cases the error cause can be found in the value chain and is caused by material handling, assembling tolerances, environmental influences, etc. Considering the high global cost pressure, test systems must be adapted to the increasing complexity of the components in order to be able to detect defects completely in-situ and have smallest possible amortization period. For these requirements the novel and nondestructive measurement system is suitable to monitor and assure quality of magnetic actuators within the manufacturing process. The measuring principle is the characterization of electromagnetic actuators according to the detection of magnetic stray fields outside the magnetic circuit and the magnetic useful field inside the actuator that can be quantified by magnetic sensors. The intensity of the magnetic stray fields depends on the magnetic flux density and flux distribution in the magnetic circuit. Permeability variations for example caused by air gaps or internal stresses influence the flux distribution. In most cases they are caused by process parameter variations of the manufacturing and assembling. With the developed method this influences can be detected in an early stage of the manufacturing process automatically and in-line. This can lead to more competitiveness and long-term viability of the location.","PeriodicalId":344918,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129925783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
