Therefore, it seemed natural to establish a long-term partnership with the United States in the development of missile defense capabilities on the continent. Due to that fact that the sources are a part of the merchant’s business correspondence, they are objective and informative. The documents are inscribed in a wide historical context characterized by a conflict escalation between the Hanseatic League and the British, that took place after British privateer attack on ships of Wendish and Prussian merchants. The sources analysis allows us to determine some features of the organization and functioning of the Anglo-Hanseatic exchange of commodity in the middle of the 15 century, as well as to identify relationship features of individual members of the Hanseatic League. In addition, the specific position of the Lübeck town council, that was interested in strengthening the role of Lübeck citizens for the “Steelyard” within the competition with other Hanseatic cities, firs of all Cologne, Hamburg and Danzig (Gdańsk) is considered.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. It is known, in essence, due to only one (and quite controversial) main source, Lucian’s “Zeuxis, or Antiochus” [Zeux. 8-11]. Even the exact dating of this battle remains debatable - its different versions based on other sources (mainly epigraphic) can vary from 270s to 260s BCE. Similarly mysterious remains the figure of King's tactician and advisor Theodotas of Rhodes, who made that crucial proposal to finally use the Seleucid elephantry against the Galatians. The author of the article leans towards the opinion identifying this Theodotas with his namesake, a former mercenary of Thracian King Lysimachus, who, according to Polyaenus, previously yielded the city of Sardes to Seleucus I [IV, 9, 4].","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The research has been made on the base of archival data and Soviet newspapers during the period 1978-1985. Attempts have been made to create authorial periodization of the diplomatic stages of cultural dialogue. Forms of cooperation in the sphere under study have been identified. As the most important treaty and legal basis of the Soviet-Vietnamese cultural cooperation should be considered, firstly, the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation signed by the USSR and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1978, which contained an article on the establishment of official cultural ties between the two countries. Secondly, the adoption of the Agreement on Cultural and Scientific Cooperation in 1982, which was a logical continuation of the validity of such a document dated 1957 and concluded for a period of 25 years. The most popular forms of cultural exchanges in international cooperation are: organizing cultural days at the regional and national levels; arranging festivals; participation in competitions and quizzes devoted to the study of history, geography, literature and art of the two countries; creative collaboration, as well as the organization of bilateral touring activities and others.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The idea of the reforms was to abolish the old command management system and the outdated administrative division of the country. During the implementation of the reforms, the hasty and ill-considered nature of many decisions was quickly revealed. The rapid transition from the old administrative system to the new order in the conditions of the Northern War caused a crisis of local governance. As a result, a number of innovations did not receive their development, and some managerial positions and administrative units actually moved from the 17th century to the 18th century without change, only changing their name. The results of the reforms at the first stage did not bring the expected results, but marked the beginning of the reform of the management structure and administrative-territorial division in the Vyatka-Kama region.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. RAILWAY NETWORK IN ORENBURG PROVINCE AS A FACTOR OF BUSINESS ACTIVITY OF PROVINCIAL POST-REFORM MERCHANTS 铁路网络对奥伦堡省改革后商人商业活动的影响

What is new in the work is that the state of transport and communication routes in the context of everyday work of the Orenburg post-reform merchants has not previously become a separate subject of analysis. The article shows that the commissioning of the Orenburg - Samara and Orenburg - Tashkent railway lines has significantly improved the working conditions of local entrepreneurs, diversifying the list of investment areas. In the first post-reform decades, the goods of Orenburg merchants entered the markets of the European part of Russia and the cities of Central Asia through the system of postal roads and routes of trade caravans respectively. The characteristics of the transport arteries themselves and the terrain through which they ran did not allow merchants to save money on the speed of delivery, transport large volumes of products, and also did not guarantee the safety of cargo. Since the late 1870s Orenburg flour producers, who got the opportunity to ship their goods to other regions of the country, began to build steam flour mills, and the service sector began to develop rapidly in the cities of the province.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The Sebys’ burial ground belongs to the early group of tumuli, which were characteristic of the first wave of tribes settling the European Northeast. These tribes are known to have had the tradition of making mounds over the burials. Being a part of the same cultural phenomenon as the necropolises of the Veslyanskiy I burial ground, it has certain local characteristics. Sebys’ burial ground is marked by a number of features. A gradual decrease in the height of the mound, a transition from grooves to pits for soil sampling, a greater number of inlet burials and paired mounds, presence of post-burial rites, and a small number of burial items compared to other monuments can be named as distinguishing characteristics. Another peculiarity is the extraordinary ceramic collection implying interaction with groups of the bichevnik population. Of all the cemeteries, it finds the most marked resemblance with the Shoinayag burial ground. They may belong to a local group associated with the Kharin stage of the Lomovatovo culture.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The main findings are based on studying Soviet, Russian and foreign literature, containing a variety of methodological approaches, as well as on studying normative documents and a wide range of archival documents. Based on the analysis of ideas and international upbringing practices we came to a conclusion that the large-scale project of international education in the USSR included the distribution of knowledge on foreign and inner policy of the state, instilling belief in the humanistic nature of these policies and involving people in international activities, through the inclusion of international practices in labor activity. However, the duality of objectives of international education was shown: on the one hand, they proclaimed the equality of all peoples of the USSR and the full support of peace initiatives, on the other hand, they declared the need for creation a unified community of the Soviet people under the leadership of the Russian people, as well as the formation of readiness to defend Homeland and the struggle against imperialism. This duality caused controversy in the minds of citizens, and led to the need to move away from the field of official propaganda. The negative impact on the implementation of international upbringing practice was that even in the late 1980s public organizations for distribution of knowledge were unable to give an independent coverage of national and international problems and to neutralize the ideological component in their work.","PeriodicalId":343725,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University.
