In the phase of planning and solution preparation of new Maritime Surveillance System project, it is necessary to analyse the zones of monitoring, sensors arrangement, and spatial distribution in order to make the best decision. With a goal to define the observation zone of interest, a software solution is made in Matlab using built-in functions for location computing in World Geodetic System, a graphical representation in Google Earth and a library that supports working with Google Earth formats for export. The sensors supported in this Maritime Surveillance System are Electro-Optical systems – multi-sensor cameras, X-band and Ku-band microwave radars and High Frequency Over The Horizon Radars. With this software solution, a particular sensor’s observation zones, along with global coverage zone are determined at the real location. Coverage diagrams are plotted as Google Earth objects, generating a KML export file. The model for predicting a real estate price includes, in addition to standard real estate's features (area, number of bedrooms, etc.) appearing in ad, attractiveness of a real estate location as well as information on some additional interior facilities (e.g., refrigerator, dish-washing machine, stove, etc.). Praćenje promena meteoroloških uslova kao jednog od preduslova u procesu donošenja odluka u okviru poljoprivredne proizvodnje može predstavljati kompleksan problem. Složenost ovog problema nastaje zbog nedostupnosti meteoroloških stanica poljoprivrednim proizvođačima. Rešenje problema ogleda se u kreiranju i korišćenju meteorološke stanice posebno dizajnirane za potrebe praćenja meteoroloških i prostorno vremenskih parametara na proizvodnim poljoprivrednim površinama. Predloženi model meteorološke stanice predstavlja rešenje koje uključuje dovoljan broj senzora za prikupljanje meteoroloških i prostorno vremenskih parametara. The paper is the result of authors’ many years’ of experience working in the financial sector. The subject of the research are knowledge and skills which bankers should acquire in order to have better direct communication with colleagues who work in information technology (IT) divisions, and furthermore with other relevant stakeholders. The key for good communication between bankers and IT experts is that bankers should know how to define precisely their request. It implies that they should be acquainted with the products banks offer, understand client’s needs, and should be familiar with processes and procedures within banks, functionality of used software and the actual regulation. Thereby, it is important that all request proposals should be considered through the prism of balance sheet and income statement of the bank, in order to understand on time whether the change is necessity or just a matter of prestige in the market.
