The research on its neuroprotective mechanism has become a hot topic. At present, neuroprotective mechanisms have been found to be closely related to balancing ion channels, inhibiting apoptosis of nerve cells and promoting nerve growth. In this work, we summarize the recent progress of research on neuroprotective mechanisms of Chinese herbal medicine and the existing clinical trials.The significance of this study is not only to summarize its therapeutic mechanism, but also to improve the status of Chinese herbal medicine at the international level. It is hoped that more international scholars will join in the research of Chinese herbal medicine.","PeriodicalId":341023,"journal":{"name":"Theoretical and Natural Science","volume":"47 24","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141799660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the next step, an additional possible rate of change of stock price is added to make the model more realistic, resulting in the one-step trinomial tree model. The model bounds the option price under the no-arbitrary principle. The paper then analyzes the circumstances under which options have a xed price by completing the market and giving the solution formula of option price through the model. Last, put-call parity is used to prove the rationality of one-step trinomial model so that the model eectively prevents the occurrence of risk-free arbitrage in the market. This helps traders to price options reasonably in the market and maintains the stability of the options market.","PeriodicalId":341023,"journal":{"name":"Theoretical and Natural Science","volume":"39 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141800003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) are often comorbid with ADHD, yet the genetic linkages between these two disorders are not well understood. This study aims to fill the research gap by performing a meta-analysis on seven existing Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) datasets using PLINK 1.9 software to explore the genetic commonalities between ADHD and SUDs. Prior studies have identified separate genetic markers for each disorder, but comprehensive research examining the overlap between these two conditions remains scarce. Our meta-analysis identified multiple significant Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) and associated genes that are relevant to both ADHD and SUDs. These genes exhibited significant p-values, underlining their potential role in the comorbid genetic landscape of these conditions. The findings of this study provide novel insights into the shared genetic etiology of ADHD and SUDs and suggest promising avenues for future research and potential therapeutic interventions.","PeriodicalId":341023,"journal":{"name":"Theoretical and Natural Science","volume":"38 47","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141800012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a fact that increasing AHN will enhance peoples ability to learn, memorize, regulate mood, etc. Therefore, scientists strive to pursue the factors which influence AHN. Until now, research had proved that GR activity is associated with the degree of AHN. Additionally, a high GR activity will potentially reduce the level of ANH and an optimal level of GR activity will create the optimized level of AHN. Consequently, how a low level of GR activity will possibly influence AHN will be examined in this paper. For Experiment 1, the GR antagonist reduces the GR activity in 8-year-old male mice: C57BL/6 and BrdU highlights the newly generated neurons in the dentate gyrus. As an ideal result compared to the control group, low GR activity will lead to a decrease in the AHN. For Experiment 2, 3 minor experiments will be constructed to test the GR activity and AHN of the mice in 3 different conditions (low, controllable, and uncontrollable stress). And Nanobit Assay that is separately attached to the GR and the ligands will present fluorescent when combined. Additionally, the method of CRISPR-CAS9 is used to knock down either GR or GR when the other one is measured, and BrdU is also used to light up the neurons to measure the degree of AHN. The ideal result will present a number greater than 1 for the ratio between GR/GR and AHN decreases for the low-stress group and uncontrollable-stress group. Oppositely, the ratio will be smaller than 1 for the controllable stress group, meaning AHN increases. Conclusively, the output will demonstrate a reversed U shape with the x-axis being the level of GR activity and the y-axis presenting the level of AHN. Despite the experiments that have proceeded on mice, the significance of them is people will have certain references to the influences of AHN to prevent those conditions or stress which will negatively affect AHN.","PeriodicalId":341023,"journal":{"name":"Theoretical and Natural Science","volume":"40 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141800394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three causal inference methods, backdoor adjustment, front-door adjustment, and counterfactual are used to analyze observational data on smoking, lung cancer, and related risks factors. Backdoor adjustment fails to allow for possible presence of unobserved confounders, which is merited by front-door adjustment. Counterfactual harnesses individual patient statistics to establish causal relationships between smoking and cancer on the individual level, so as to evaluate lung cancer risks after changes in individual smoking habits. Results by different methodology are in good agreement and showcase a strong causation between smoking and lung cancer at both group and individual level.","PeriodicalId":341023,"journal":{"name":"Theoretical and Natural Science","volume":"31 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141800672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Microbiome and gut-brain axis have been implicated in mental disorders and have become the focus of neuroscience research. A meta-analysis was conducted to summarize the evidence regarding this link. A filtering search was performed using Hollis, PubMed, and Google Scholar to identify considered studies and trials. A keyword search identified 5500 articles. Seven provided analytically valuable and eligible data and were finally included for consideration and analysis. The data offered relevant studies on depression or anxiety, Schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's disease. Of the seven papers, four used correlational analysis (n=952) on depression and anxiety, two (n=384) on Schizophrenia, and one (n=80) on Alzheimers disease. These correlation analyses were designed to investigate the differences in gut microbial abundance between normal individuals and patients with mental disorders. In addition, three studies (n=314) identified a causal link by comparing the changes in mental health status by altering or influencing the gut microbiota. These causal analyses aimed to explore the differences in gut microbial abundance before and after the onset of mental disorders. In this case, mental illnesses were 2.8 to 14 times higher in the experimental groups than in the control groups. The findings support the hypothesis that the health of the gut-brain axis (microbial abundance) is inversely correlated to the incidence of many psychological disorders. However, how the gut-brain axis facilitates the pathogenesis of mental disorders remains to be further studied.","PeriodicalId":341023,"journal":{"name":"Theoretical and Natural Science","volume":"24 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141801362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At present, there is no specific drug that can completely cure Alzheimers disease, and there is still a long way to go in the treatment of the disease. In order to provide better ideas for the development of drugs to treat Alzheimers disease, people have speculated and verified a variety of pathogenesis of the disease as far as possible and developed targeted drugs on this basis. In addition to the need to develop drugs from multiple pathogenetic perspectives, it is also necessary to conduct longitudinal studies on one drug.
