The electromagnetic converter of differential type with a ferrite core was developed to increase the sensitivity. Also the coefficients of two-section recursive adaptive filter were calculated. To take into account not only quantitative, but also qualitative characteristics of the locomotive driver or intellectual decision support system, it is proposed to use fuzzy logic methods. Hence it was possible to determine and calculate the additive quality criterion of the intellectual system controlling activity. The results of the work make it possible to model the activity of the locomotive brigade more qualitatively, which in the future will serve as the basis for the development of autonomous intelligent locomotive control systems. The developed method is given for three main criteria of work considering safety, energy consumption and implementation of the traffic schedule. Simulation is implemented in the Spyder environment in Python for various parameters (R, C) of the equivalent circuit of the OED. It is shown that the value of RC-circuit significantly affects the distortion of the output electrical signal with respect to the input optical signal. A criterion for RC-circuit parameters is established, under which the relative distortion of the signal does not exceed 2.5 percent. The simulation results are compared with the experimentally recorded signal when the optical pulse of the trapezoidal form is exposed to OED. It is shown that the use of an optical signal of a trapezoidal shape makes it possible to experimentally determine RC-circuit for real OED. A distinctive feature of the proposed model is the localization of places for the installation of power active filter-compensating devices, the use of which allows providing the necessary quality of electric energy and achieving the minimum energy losses in the elements of the energy supply system. The traditionally applied measures and methods aim to at reduce or eliminate the consequences of such influence. This study proposed a schematic solution that targets the source of the influence and reduces the extent of negative factor generation. Based on mathematical model implementation, a technique for calculating electrical parameters and characteristics of busbar’s trolleys was proposed. The influence of harmonic current components on the active power losses was estimated. The presence of harmonic current components, which limits of the standard leads to an additional increase in losses by 3%.
