Meanwhile, multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system is implemented using space-time codes (STC) to achieve maximum diversity, maximum coding gain and the highest possible throughput for wireless communications. In this paper, we applied several popular techniques to MIMO system and study its performance. We explored the MIMO system over an un-coded system using Rayleigh flat fading channel. We also studied and compared the MIMO system using different channel coding techniques. Finally, the performance of MIMO system applying various interleaving and puncturing schemes is analyzed and proved to gain some improvement.","PeriodicalId":339961,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China (CHINACOM)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126410333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, by introducing the newly emerging compressed sensing (CS) theory to the design of IR-UWB ranging system, low-rate sampling based high-precision TOA estimation is realized. The matching-pursuit search-back (MP-SB) algorithm for TOA estimation is proposed, which utilizes iterative search and threshold comparison to detect the 1st path from the compressed sensing measurements of the received ranging signal. The detection threshold in each iteration step is adaptively optimized. The performance of the proposed method is analyzed through simulations under IEEE 802.15.4a channel models. Results show that the proposed method can obtain high-precision ranging results with measurements far less than Nyquist-rate samples. Therefore, the proposed method serves as an alternative practical high-precision IR-UWB ranging method. 1","PeriodicalId":339961,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China (CHINACOM)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127468460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the assumption that multiple CFOs is modeled as Gaussian variables [11][12], all the users are divided into two different sets, defined as large CFO users set (LCUS) and small CFO users set (SCUS) in the proposed scheme. Then, a joint CFO compensation algorithm for both LCUS and SCUS is proposed to make a better tradeoff between computational complexity and system performance. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves a comparable system performance in terms of bit error rate compared to Zero-forcing (ZF) scheme and parallel interference cancellation (PIC) scheme whereas its computational complexity is much lower than the two conventional schemes.","PeriodicalId":339961,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China (CHINACOM)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130314979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we firstly propose a control-prioritized Markov approach for dynamic spectrum allocation for high-speed railways wireless communications, which models the interactions between the control transmissions and application transmissions as continuous time Markov chains, we further develop a proportional fairness based approach to optimally coordinate the spectrum allocation of the application transmissions. BCAH adopts the asymmetrical handover between the broadcast base station (BBS) with point-to-multipoint (PTM) transmission and the cell base station (CBS) with point-to-point (PTP) transmission. The handover from BBS PTM to CBS PTP takes into account the handover delay for accurate execution to maximize the utilization of the broadcast resources. The handover from CBS PTP to BBS PTM reduces unnecessary handover by considering the handover threshold predefined with QoS requirement of broadcast services to avoid ping-pong effect. BCAH maximizes the resource utilization while providing the continuity of broadcast services with QoS guarantees. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm improves system performance in terms of throughput and delay.","PeriodicalId":339961,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China (CHINACOM)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127637812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technique is based on interference alignment (IA) and beamforming (BF). Considering the effect of power gain and inter-cell interference, transmit and receive matrices are jointly designed to increase the SINR at receivers. As the collaboration between Base-Stations (BSs) is not allowed in order to simplifying the implementation, two distributed algorithms, ‘Maximize SINR’ and “Minimize Interference”, are provided in iterative manner. Simulation results show that the combination of IA and BF achieves considerable performance gain. Thereinto, the algorithm of ‘Maximize SINR’ behave excellent both in high and low SNR region, and the throughput performance of ‘Minimize Interference’ outperform traditional BF in the high SNR region.","PeriodicalId":339961,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China (CHINACOM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128957315","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Models for predicting the geographical coverage in the cases of shift horizontally and vertically, yaw, roll and pitch of HAP are presented in this work. And also the mechanisms of compensation based on steerable antennas in these cases are explored. The mechanism is then applied to a 127 cell architecture, with a cell cluster size of four. It can be seen from the simulation result that by employing the steerable antenna correction mechanism, the movement can be compensated to some degree in order to guarantee effective coverage of the service area.","PeriodicalId":339961,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China (CHINACOM)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129154512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
