Special attention is paid to the consideration of the correlation between individual and typological features of thinking and successfulness in socio-psychological adaptation of a person in the student age. To implement the empirical tasks we organized and conducted the research, using the complex of methods aimed at the study of the correlation between successfulness of socio-psychological adaptation of students and thinking styles. The first-year students at the age of 17-18 years participated in this research. The results, obtained in the research and proved by the methods of mathematical statistics, have let us state that the more developed students’ thinking, the more they can take into account their own experience (pragmatic type of thinking) and subjective social factors (idealistic type of thinking) in solving problems and the higher the level of their socio-psychological adaptation. All superstitions were chosen using a continuous sampling method. The analysis was prepared using methods of comparison and statistics. All superstitions were divided into four big groups depending on the included lexical unit. Group one is ‘House, parts of the house’. Group two is ‘Kitchen appliances’. Group three is ‘Bed, bedroom accessories’. Group four is ‘Household goods’. Classic academic approach and training in the process of professional activity are considered. The paper contains the consideration of approaches’ history, and their key features in relation to the developed competencies are highlighted. The rationale for the need for psychological research in the period of vocational education in higher educational institutions is given. According to the results of a comparative analysis, it was concluded that it would be expedient to combine approaches in the training of specialists in high-tech industries for the sustainable development of society. It is proposed to use academic education only when teaching general cultural, general professional and basic professional competencies. Training for highly specialized competencies is proposed to be carried out mainly in the process of professional activity. It is assumed that this distribution will lead to the maximization of the effectiveness of the process of training specialists in innovative industries. The purpose of the paper is to trace the interrelations between economic, innovation and educational clustering in the situation of geo-economic turbulence and instability. These inter-organizational interactions are viewed to be one of the factors to increase regional innovation security. The research objective is to highlight the integrative role of the education system for the innovation economy of the regions. The comparative analysis of the experience of the self-sustained South-West (Rostov) region and the deeply integrated into European space North-West (Kaliningrad) one enables the researchers to identify the main factors of reaching innovation security via self-organizing cluster mechanisms. The results and the findings of the study (including the positive clustering experience) are to be used in the decision-making within regional governance.
