In this paper, the impact of four different transformer winding configurations on the performance of a current-tripler-rectifier three-phase full-bridge (CTRTPFB) DC/DC converter with asymmetrical modulation control strategy is studied using the same comparison criteria for all operation scenarios. Depending on the duty cycle and output current, the CTRTPFB converter operates in three different modes, DMIN, DMED, and DMAX. Comparison reveals that the Y–Y and the Δ–Δ configurations have similar performance, so do the Y-Δ and the Δ-Y configurations. In the DMAX mode, the Y–Y and the Δ–Δ configurations perform better than the Y-Δ and the Δ-Y configurations. In the DMED mode, owing to the controllable characteristics, the Y-Y and the Δ-Δ configurations are the viable choices. In the DMIN mode, the Y-Δ and the Δ-Y configurations perform better than the Y–Y and the Δ–Δ configurations. This paper provides a guideline regarding how to select the most suitable configuration for a particular operation and how to determine the circuit parameters.","PeriodicalId":336442,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics & Applications (ISIEA)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125923574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Encephalography (EEG) is a commonly clinical tool used for the diagnosis of epilepsy. However, traditional approaches based on visual inspection of EEG signals are tedious and complex. Thus, several automatic seizure detection approaches based on machine learning techniques have been proposed. In this study, a hybrid model for the detection of epileptic seizure is proposed, where convolutional neural network (CNN) is used for automatic feature extraction of EEG signals and support vector machines (SVM) is used for epileptic seizure classification. The proposed approach was evaluated using the Children’s Hospital Boston-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (CHB-MIT) dataset. Experimental results showed that the accuracy of the combined CNN-SVM model outperforms the CNN baseline model. The proposed approach provides a substantial increase in seizure prediction performance in terms of sensitivity compared to both classical machine learning approaches and CNN model that have been presented in the previous studies.","PeriodicalId":336442,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics & Applications (ISIEA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116730063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This can be attributed to the steady increase in the number of diabetic cases worldwide. DR can be treated if diagnosed early enough to prevent further damages to retina which could lead to total blindness if left untreated. Automatic segmentation of retinal blood vessels from fundus image is useful towards development of an efficient and accurate computer-assisted retinal diagnosis system. In this study, we propose a combination of B-COSFIRE filter and background normalization methods to segment the retinal blood vessels (RBVs) from fundus image. By performing background normalization on B-COSFIRE filter output and combining it with the original B-COSFIRE output, the segmentation performance can be improved in terms of Sensitivity. Validation of the proposed method on two public databases, namely DRIVE and STARE shows comparable segmentation performance to published methods with improved Sensitivity. The method achieves Sensitivity values of 78.33% and 81.04% and Specificity values of 96.51% and 95.69% for DRIVE and STARE database, respectively.","PeriodicalId":336442,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics & Applications (ISIEA)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115508456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Creating classification models from an input dataset is one of the most beneficial techniques in data mining; these methods typically create models that are used to forecast future patterns in data. This work has been done to assess the effectiveness of different classifiers algorithms such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes (NB), J48, and Neural Network (NN), these algorithms were applied on several datasets to determine the performance of the algorithm. When contingencies occur dispatchers, engineers, and executives need to know the answer to the question, \"How bad is it?\", in order to make timely and meaningful decisions. Therefore, a scalable method to add context to system conditions is needed. In this paper we present novel deviation-based techniques which enable scaled bus voltage and line power measurement deviations to quickly assess local and global health, and lend context to the severity of contingencies. Real-time methods for forecasting heart disease from medical data sources that explain a patient's current health status are discussed in this paper. The proposed system's main aim is to find the best data mining algorithm for predicting heart disease with high accuracy. We suggested using Decision Tree (DT), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Naïve Bayes (NB) algorithms. All of these algorithms are classified as supervised learning and work better with training data. The main purpose of using three algorithms is to see which one is the best at predicting heart disease. The most common experimental set-up in studying the electrical tree is using a needle electrode to initiate the treeing image. Different types of needle and insulation material had been studied from the previous experiment. This paper review the method used to investigate tree growth and its technique to capture the treeing image. In recent years, different parts of the body have been manipulated to ensure that only the right person has access to their respective accounts, both physical and virtual. Biometrics, which involves identification such as fingerprints, palm veins, DNA, palm print, and face recognition, is one of the methods that has been developed. Similarly, this study would demonstrate how to use image processing to apply facial identification and recognition algorithms to create a device that can identify and recognize the frontal faces of students in a classroom. A face is a front part of a person’s head from the forehead to the chin or the corresponding part of an animal. The face is the most significant element in human experiences since it holds important details about a person or entity. Humans have the potential to recognize others depending on their faces. This paper proposed work to develop a working prototype of a system that will facilitate class control for Technical Informatics College of Akre lecturers in a classroom by detecting the frontal faces of students from an image taken in a classroom.
