Il monitoraggio dell’O3 in foresta è, pertanto, fondamentale per poterne studiare l’effetto nocivo sulla vegetazione e stabilire i livelli critici per la protezione del patrimonio boschivo. In questo lavoro sono riportati i risultati dell’applicazione di innovative stazioni di monitoraggio attivo in foresta, installate nell’ambito del progetto europeo LIFE MOTTLES (MOnitoring ozone injury for seTTing new critical LEvelS). Le aree sperimentali sono state selezionate all’interno della rete CON.ECO.FOR, e in esse sono stati stimati due diversi indici cumulati basati sull'esposizione all’O3 in atmosfera (AOT40) e sul flusso stomatico di O3 (PODY), poi correlati ad indicatori di salute della vegetazione quali sintomi visibili fogliari e defogliazione della chioma, valutati sia all’interno (ITP) che lungo il margine della foresta (LESS), per derivare i livelli critici basati sull'esposizione (CLec) e sul flusso (CLef). I risultati suggeriscono CLec e CLef rispettivamente di 17000 e 19000 ppb h AOT40 e 12 e 5 mmol m-2 POD1 per conifere e latifoglie. Il monitoraggio attivo consente di poter definire e aggiornare regolarmente livelli critici e standard legislativi per la protezione delle foreste ed inoltre, rispetto al tradizionale monitoraggio passivo, è risultato essere anche maggiormente sostenibile da un punto di vista ambientale, economico e sociale sul lungo periodo.","PeriodicalId":336087,"journal":{"name":"L'italia Forestale E Montana","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130694475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The risks associated with the instability of the wood market are also important. The aim of the research is to examine the insurance system in poplar cultivation with an assessment of farmers’ propensity towards insurance policies for the protection from the many risks involved in the cultivation. Based on the information received from poplar growers and insurance companies, the current system of income support guarantees is examined. Fundamental are the tools concerning risk management through insurance policies. Public financial support makes the insurance system more attractive by lowering the costs for the growers, but unfortunately there are still limits and restrictive conditions. The new Common Agricultural Policy post-2020 bodes well for building a greater risk management capacity.","PeriodicalId":336087,"journal":{"name":"L'italia Forestale E Montana","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125058826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These were the empires of the Sumerians, Assyrians and Babylonians, as well as the Hittites and the Phoenician city-states. The ancient Egyptian civilization was also developing in north-eastern Africa which, like the others specified above, made use of the waters of a river. This essay examines the agricultural practices carried out by the ancient Egyptians on the banks and delta of the Nile, which annually deposited beneficial layers of silt during flooding. Egyptian agriculture adequately preserved the natural forest-maquis by reserving it for the harvesting of wood, which was then used for making furniture and sarcophagi, as well as for their building works. The ancient Egyptians also protected the environment around stands of Papyrus, which was used for making writing materials, in boat building and in the hunting of water birds. The methods which they used in agricultural practice and environmental protection highlight the advanced nature of their civilization, especially during the New Kingdom era.","PeriodicalId":336087,"journal":{"name":"L'italia Forestale E Montana","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131709570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to allow a correct comparison about different forest populations, the acquired data have been aggregated into homogeneous categories. According to PAF information in this paper are listed: working circle types, main forest system used type, main and dominant species and age-class distribution. Data analysis were based on a comparative analysis about of spatial impact of managed areas if related to analyzed factors, in order to evaluate the areal distribution of collected information. In both provinces (Potenza and Matera), according to data analysis, the working circles that appear to be more frequent have productive and protective functions, while the most extensive type of management forms is high forest system. The comparison between tree factors like main species, managed area and provinces show that in Matera Province the dominant species is the Turkey oak ( Quercus cerris L.); instead beech ( Fagus sylvatica L.) is the most widespread one in province of Potenza. Moreover Quercus is the most represented genus on the regional territory, if you add mixed oak woods to the Turkey oak. Age-class distribution is an another factor which make a difference between Potenza and Matera provinces: while in Matera is easier to found young forests, uneven-aged management is typical of Potenza’s area, and in both cases we found high forest system. The connection between main species and forest system show us that simple coppice system is typical of mixed oak woods instead beech or Turkey oak pure stand are previously managed as high forest system. In a large quantity of cases, Basilicata Regions coppices are however aged, as shown by the age-class distribution analysis. Finally this work try to understand the relationship between forest management and forest fires.","PeriodicalId":336087,"journal":{"name":"L'italia Forestale E Montana","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130257956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This analysis will show the reasons of the new planning setting for national parks, underlining the following requirements: - updating the manual and the technical standards, due to a new experience acquired; - plans standardization to allow plans comparison. The paper describes the review criteria and the new setting requirements either to show the job done by the planners, either to avoid the introduction of new planning method, which has not been sufficiently tested or is too difficult to apply. The starting point of this analysis will be the Forest Fire Fighting plan of each National Park. The results will show the most significant features and an overall opinion on the planning examined will follow.
