With advances in graphics and visualization techniques, image retrieval should be easy, quick and flexible. The aim of this work is to develop an efficient image indexing and retrieval system to collate similar images or images based on conditioned queries in the form of an image itself. The indexing method has been performed using wavelet transform and related mechanisms. Its detailing can easily entail description from a broad range to a narrow range. The indexing algorithm applies a Haar Wavelet-Based Perceptual Similarity Index (HaarPSI) for Image Quality Assessment. The HaarPSI utilizes the coefficients obtained from a Haar wavelet decomposition to assess local similarities between two images, as well as the relative importance of image areas. Results show that the algorithm used is able to retrieve and display images with high retrieval accuracy and medium relevance.The proposed methodology has been tested against known image retrieval techniques and was found to be comparable and in some cases better than most prior known techniques. The testing was performed on images of varied types, from multiple datasets and sizes. The accuracy was found to be 99% in most cases. All in all, this study introduces a simple and convenient way of offline image searches on desktop computers and provides a stepping stone to future content-based image retrieval systems built for similar purposes.","PeriodicalId":334609,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication (ICSC)","volume":"5 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133211613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here, small scale fading is attributed by the Rician channel, whereas shadowing effects are modeled by TWDP. More specifically, in this work the exact closed-form expression is derived for the probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution function (CDF), joint moments, mean, variance, amount of fading (AF) and outage probability. Also, the effects of various shadowing parameters on system performance have been studied in detail. The obtained results are matched cum verified with special case results available in the literature and simulation results. ","PeriodicalId":334609,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication (ICSC)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134574268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The congestion control algorithm is used to synchronize the input rate (sending rate) with a receiving rate. The input rate is the rate at which packets are sent from sender to receiver while the receiving rate is the rate at which packets are received at the receiver. The congestion control algorithm uses window size to synchronize the sending rate and receiving rate. A network simulator-3 (ns-3) is a popular tool used to evaluate the existing TCP congestion control algorithms to know more insight about the TCP congestion control algorithms. That helps to develop a new algorithm. We have carried out a comparative study window size for various congestion control algorithms viz., New Reno, Veno, BIC, CUBIC and Westwood. We have also analyzed these algorithms for throughput using ns-3.","PeriodicalId":334609,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication (ICSC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127881329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sakurai-Newton (SN) α-power based MOSFET model is one of the simplest empirical model that has been utilized from decades to model drain current at submicron technology node. This paper presents the pedagogical effort of the author to connect α-power based MOSFET model with Jesper-Memelink-Wallinga (JMW) representation which happens to be a popular approach for visually capturing the basic operation of long channel transistor. Connecting SN model and JMW representation enables us to visually capture the basic operation of short channel transistor also. The results obtained from the graphical representation are compared with analytical physics based MOSFET model and industry standard BSIM upto 22nm technology node.","PeriodicalId":334609,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication (ICSC)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134332759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The cell/neuron membrane is composed of Na and K ions with which cell can learn and adapt in new environment. The proposed circuit stores information in the form of charge at the floating gate (FG) and adaptability/plasticity is simulated in terms of time dependent spikes. The spikes are generated as a cell membrane capacitor’s charging/discharging voltage which in turn, is controlled from sodium and potassium feedback circuits. The circuit have been implemented at 45nm CMOS technology. It generates a modulated voltage spike in response to input stimuli controlling charge at the FG. Inspired from bio-physical neuron model the proposed sensor circuit have been developed with sub-threshold conduction of MOSFETs and thus, circuit operates at nA level current sensitivity. It occupies very less chip area (245µm) and low power consumption (3.3nW) with 1.1V supply. The circuit is highly suitable in bimolecular fields for bimolecular detection.","PeriodicalId":334609,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication (ICSC)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131166790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Standard local binary pattern and its forms uses 2D plane of the image. On the other hand, proposed method leads to 3D volume by extracting Gaussian filtered images using multiresolution Gaussian filter banks and computes the relationship between center pixel and its neighbors in five selected directions. Center symmetric local binary pattern (CSLBP) image is formed by encoding the relationship between focus pixel and its center symmetric neighboring pixels. Thus, gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) of the CSLBP map in four directions leads to the formation of feature vector. Experiments are performed and results are analyzed on benchmark datasets. Analyzed retrieval results clearly better than the other well known methods by considering average retrieval precision and average retrieval rate as evaluation measures.","PeriodicalId":334609,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication (ICSC)","volume":"123 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116311903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The exact and asymptotic closed-form expressions of outage probability and symbol error rate (SER) are derived using order statistics over the Rayleigh fading channel for the considered system. This selection technique reduces the complexity and costs of the system associated with multiple transmit antennas while achieving the full diversity order. Further, numerical results show that the proposed BTTAS beamforming scheme achieves full diversity and provides a significant coding gain in comparison to the Alamouti space-time block code.","PeriodicalId":334609,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication (ICSC)","volume":"374 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122129496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The design parameters such as delay, power consumption, energy delay product, energy and transistor count are compared with the conventional static CMOS based design. The effect of parasitic capacitance is analyzed via post layout simulation.
