The problem of this research is how the use of social media as a vehicle for da’wa for the millennial generation in Gorontalo City and what the challenges of da'wa for the millennial generation in Gorontalo City. This research uses qualitative methods, where data is obtained through observation, interviews and documentation studies. The findings of this study that social media can be used as a medium of da'wa especially for millennial generations. His da'wa material is the same as da'wa material in general, but the packaging follows the tastes of the millennial generation. Da'wa material on social media can be in the form of short narratives, pictures, or videos. Da'wa messages are delivered casually without patronizing. Nevertheless there are challenges of da’wa on social media for the millennial generation in the form of the spread of hoaxes behind religious messages and the lack of adequate capacity of the millennial generation to filter religious messages so that they absorb whatever they find on social media. In conclusion, social media can be an alternative medium of da'wa in the delivery of da'wa for the millennial generation. However, there must be literacy efforts in accepting and understanding religious messages in social media so that they are not trapped in the massive hoax trap of today.","PeriodicalId":334570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of International Conference on Da'wa and Communication","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127570613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are accustomed to 'hunting human heads for marriage plots'. Traditions like this are considered as an obligation to avoid danger and disaster, and become a symbol of power and manliness. However, the practice of 'head hunting' only applies when Islam has not touched the theology of the Dayak community with ancestral religion in the past. This study focuses on the struggle of the Dayak Senganan and Malays in the villages of Semabi, Sekadau Hilir, Sekadau, West Kalimantan, which relates to the stigma that, by embracing Islam it means revoking the 'worthiness' identity. To illustrate the transformation of Dayak Wealth identity The methodology used in this study is the ethnographic method. The term 'Wealth' is derived from the word 'right' which means the transition from left to right, namely by embracing Islam. Findings from this study indicate that the key to inter-citizen harmony is supported by the strength of harmony between religious elites and also local cultural elites, and the role of shared awareness to coexist becomes a benchmark of harmonization. The power of harmony built by these two elite figures has produced transformative propaganda based on tradition.","PeriodicalId":334570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of International Conference on Da'wa and Communication","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127444130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Afterwards, it is bequeathed to Moslem scholars that have capability and integrity. In this era many Da’was just contain humiliation and hate speech that destroy the unity and peace among the people. It shows that Da’wa has strayed far from its real meaning and purpose. Basically Da’wa aims to unite mankind unto One God, one tenet and universal values according on surah Ali Imran verse 64. Based on this reality, the author – by researching the word Da’wa in the Qur’an on semantic perspective – aims to return Da’wa back to its real meaning and main purpose. Semantic is the linguistic and philosophical study of meaning in language. “Semantic of The Qur’an” should be understood only in the sense of the Qur’ans weltanschauung or world view. To understand the meaning of the word Da’wa, the author – firstly – found the basic meaning and relational meaning, then the synchronic and the diachronic. The result is that Da’wa Islam invites people unto the one tenet that held by all the prophets and the earlier people. It is no worship except One God that called tauhid or monotheism. It is the principal point to get Da’wa back to advance that the main purpose of Da’wa is peace and the unity under tauhid tenet and universal values based on surah Ali Imran verse 64.","PeriodicalId":334570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of International Conference on Da'wa and Communication","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126722518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This process took place amongst scholars and jurist who developed their own methodology for classification of sources, derivation of specific rules from general principles, and so forth. The traditionalist approach of learning Arabic, for instance, take years to complete and memorising the Arabic grammar takes a long time. Traditionalist Islamic institutions such as pesantren and madrasah produce Kiai, or Muslim clergy and scholars that inevitably create an elite group of scholars. They become the authority who determine the correct interpretation of the Holy books. However, in the era of the social media, such traditional authority has been challenged. Anyone could become a scholar of Islam and to criticise the Kiai harshly. My presentation will critically evaluate this new situation faced by the Indonesian Muslim scholars and to discuss the roots of the problems.","PeriodicalId":334570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of International Conference on Da'wa and Communication","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123420182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The positive impact of advances in information technology opens opportunities for majors to develop better. The negative impact is a challenge for the Taklim Council in trying to overcome the existing problems. The reason for choosing the perspective of propaganda sociology is because in reality people's lives experience very rapid, progressive changes, and often appear to be symptoms of disintegratis, namely loosening of loyalty to common values. This study aims to analyze the problem of the lack of attendance at the activities of the Taklim Jabal al Rahma Assembly. The research method used is descriptive qualitative approach to the propaganda sociology. Data collection techniques with in-depth interviews as primary data and observation and literature literature as secondary data. This study uses Blumer's symbolic interactionism theory, in which Blumer has 3 main principles, namely meaning, language and thought. The results of the study found that there was a communication between the head of the taklim panel and members of the taklim board and the congregation taklim. The solution is to improve communication and optimize information technology to avoid disintegration which will endanger the continuity of Da'wa in the community itself.","PeriodicalId":334570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of International Conference on Da'wa and Communication","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115008466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The diversity of tribes, religions, races, and groups within the archipelago needs to be handled wisely, so that the harmonization of citizens continues to be strengthened in all aspects of life. Uploading the message of the head of state on you tube social media can be the right media to parse central and regional policies. You tube social media is a trend of millennial society that is loved by all groups. Therefore, the head of state also needs to upload the existing social media. The message of the head of state needs to be known to all its people, both delivered during state speeches and in remarks on non-state activities. The President is the icon of a country, the national cultural identity of natural resources and human resources must be fully considered. It concerns state policies based on idealized ideals and constitutional grounds. All policies must be understood by the government apparatus from the central to the regions, officials to the people. However, the language of the head of state is not as easy as the educator explains it to students, the head of state needs high social sensitivity, so there is no obstacle means understanding all the messages he conveys. The head of state must provide an optimal and perfect example as a manifesto of the characteristics of Indonesian human resources as a whole. How are the messages of the head of state uploaded on social media ‘You Tube’?. The head of state must provide an optimal and perfect example as a manifesto of the characteristics of Indonesian human resources as a whole. This study is a descriptive qualitative methode, the material from the cyber media, and analysis of the speechs of Ir. Jokowidodo in YouTube media from January to December 2017. The research shows that the president's verbal and non-verbal messages reflected the balance of communication between leaders and the people interactively interactively; the meaning is humanist, religious, humorous, traditionalist, and nationalist. The analysis too shows that the head of the central government until the region must be a communicator, innovator and initiator wholeheartedly dealing with the interests of civil society in the millennial era, guarding the strengthening of national identity and religious ideology.","PeriodicalId":334570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of International Conference on Da'wa and Communication","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127942029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research was conducted with a qualitative approach in the form of ethnography. Subjects were taken from three Islamic boarding schools in Purwokerto City, namely An-Najah Islamic Boarding School, Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, and ath-Thohiriyah Islamic Boarding School. The results showed that the Muslim personality development model practiced by the pesantren community was based on several principles and values that were understood and practiced by the pesantren community, including scientific enthusiasm, independence, responsibility, simplicity, togetherness, leadership, and sincerity. The process of developing students' personality is done through understanding, exemplary, accustomed to, worshiping, and deepening the values of pesantren. The Muslim personality development model that has been practiced in the pesantren community can be said as an answer to the need for a personality development approach that is appropriate to the religious cultural context of Indonesian society. This model is worth discussing as indigenous personality development, which is a pattern of personality development that is rooted in the values, perspectives, or traditions that exist in a community.","PeriodicalId":334570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of International Conference on Da'wa and Communication","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130699393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An epic Hikayat Prang Sabi – which is written in Acehnese Jawi – is evident to spur the Acehnese people to struggle against the Dutch invaders during the Aceh War. Numerous studies have been conducted on this hikayat to scrutinize the striking motivation it harbors. Noticeably, the hikayat is proof that Acehnese Jawi became an effective medium in successfully transmitting the da’wa to defend land and soul. However, the orthography, unlike Malay Jawi, now suffers from the lack of attention in terms of its writing system. Therefore, it is imperative to study how the orthography is employed so that it had such sheer readability in communicating the divine message. For this reason, this study attempts to unravel the Jawi writing system employed by the author in writing the hikayat. Content analysis is conducted on the script of the hikayat which is the subject of this study. It is found that the hikayat is written in various Acehnese dialects, which then affect the Jawi spelling. The Acehnese Jawi in the hikayat does share the same spelling in some words with Malay Jawi even though pronounced differently. A plethora of Arabic loanwords maintains their original spellings in Acehnese Jawi while some others are customized to suit the progressive change of local pronunciation and due to the attachment of prefixes and suffixes.","PeriodicalId":334570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of International Conference on Da'wa and Communication","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121654693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
