Selain itu probiotik juga dapat digunakan dalam pakan ikan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui efektivitas pemanfaatan probiotik dan enzim papain dalam pakan terhadap pertumbuhan dan nilai kecernaan pakan untuk ikan kerapu hibrid “cantik”. Perlakuan berupa penggunaan probiotik dalam pakan yaitu (pakan A) probiotik dalam pakan, (pakan B) tanpa probiotik dan tanpa enzim dalam pakan (kontrol), (pakan C) enzim dalam pakan dan (pakan D) kombinasi probiotik dan enzim dalam pakan. Hewan uji berupa benih ikan kerapu hibrid dengan ukuran bobot rata rata awal 7,30± 0,60 g. Ikan dipelihara dalam bak polikarbonat bervolume 300 liter yang telah dilengkapi dengan aerasi dan sistem air mengalir dengan kepadatan 50 ekor/bak. Benih ikan diberi pakan percobaan secara satiasi dengan frekuensi pemberian dua kali sehari. Percobaan dirancang dengan rancangan acak lengkap, terdiri atas empat perlakuan pakan dan tiga ulangan. Pengamatan pertumbuhan dilakukan setiap 1 minggu dengan menimbang bobot ikan. Pengamatan meliputi performa pertumbuhan, nilai kecernaan pakan pada ikan kerapu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bakteri probiotik pada pakan ikan kerapu berpengaruh terhadap performa pertumbuhan (pertambahan bobot), efisiensi pakan (p<0.05). Pertambahan bobot tertinggi terjadi pada ikan kerapu hibrid yang diberi perlakuan pakan dengan bakteri probiotik (237±0,04%) diikuti pakan dengan enzim (204±0,09%), sedangkan ikan yang diberi pakan dengan kombinasi bakteri probiotik dan enzim diperoleh pertambahan bobot lebih rendah dari pakan kontrol masing masing 118±0,03% dan 192±0,20% dan nilai kecernaan pakan sebesar 79,91-84,24%. Probiotics have been widely used to improve water quality in fish farms. Probiotics are also utilized in fish feed as food supplements. This research was aimed to investigate the efficacy of probiotics and papain enzyme on the growth and nutrient digestibility of hybrid grouper “Cantik”. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design consisting of four feed treatments and three replications: diet A, a diet supplemented with probiotic; diet B(control), a diet without supplementation of probiotic and enzyme; diet C, a diet supplemented with enzyme; and diet D, a diet supplemented with probiotic and enzyme. The test fish were hybrid grouper fish fry with an initial average body weight of 7.30 ± 0.60 g. The fish fry were reared in 300 liter volume polycarbonate tanks equipped with aeration and a flowthrough water system at a density of 50 fish/tank. The fish fry were fed with the diets two times a day by satiation for 56 days. The fish growth performance was observed weekly by recording their weight gain, nutrient digestibility, and survival rate. Berbagai penelitian yang mengarah pada morfologis, fisiologis, dan enzimatis, telah dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi dasar terkait perkembangan tulang belakang benih ikan tuna yang mempunyai korelasi positif terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidupnya. Upaya meningkatkan kelangsungan hidup benih yang hingga saat ini belum stabil. Perkembangan tulang belakang benih ikan tuna merupakan satu di antara parameter yang perlu diamati mengingat sangat erat hubungannya dengan faktor pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidupnya. Metode pewarnaan ganda terhadap tulang belakang benih ikan tuna dengan menggunakan larutan Alcian Blue dan Alizarin Red-S telah digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan mengambil sampel hewan uji setiap lima hari mulai D-5 sampai D-40. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa tulang belakang benih ikan tuna pada D-25—D-30 mengalami transisi dari tulang muda menjadi tulang keras, dan berkembang menjadi tulang keras yang sempurna dan kokoh pada D-35—D-40, dengan performansi yang lebih agresif. Perkembangan tulang belakang benih ikan tuna mempunyai korelasi yang positif terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidupnya. Since 2003, the Institute for Mariculture Research and Fisheries Extension, Gondol has carried out breeding research on yellowfin tuna, Thunnus albacares (Bonnaterre 1788). Various studies on the morphology, physiology, and enzymatic processes of the fish fry were conducted to gain basic information about vertebral development of yellowfin tuna which was suspected to positively affect the growth and survival rate of the fish. Among the parameters involved in the growth and survival rate of tuna fry is vertebral development. A double staining method on tuna fry vertebrae using Alcian Blue and Alizarin Red-S solutions was used in this study, and samples of fry were collected every five days starting from D-5 up to D-40. The result showed that the seeds had vertebral transitions from cartilage to bone on D-25—D-30, followed by the development of hard-bone on D-35—D-40 with a significant increase of aggressive activity. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi peningkatan keuntungan budidaya ikan gurami dengan menggunakan benih ikan gurami hibrida unggul. Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah ikan gurami hibrida yang berumur tujuh bulan sebanyak delapan persilangan. Masing-masing persilangan diambil 200 ikan uji secara acak dari setiap populasi, dengan ukuran bobot rata-rata antara 73,5-111 g. Pemeliharaan dilakukan di kolam beton berukuran 50 m2, dengan kedalaman air 80 cm, pengamatan dilakukan selama dua bulan. Pakan yang diberikan berupa pelet apung komersial dengan kadar protein 28%-30% sebanyak 3% biomassa/hari, diberikan dua kali sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persilangan gurami betina Majalengka x ikan gurami jantan Jambi (MJ) memiliki pertumbuhan tercepat dibandingkan dengan persilangan lainnya dan diikuti oleh persilangan ikan gurami Kalimantan x ikan gurami jantan Majalengka (KM), sedangkan persilangan yang memiliki efisiensi pakan terbaik adalah persilangan KM dan diikuti oleh MJ. Secara keseluruhan memperlihatkan bahwa strain MJ memiliki estimasi profit tertinggi dibandingkan dengan persilangan lainnya. One of the success factors in aquaculture is the availability and usage of superior seeds. This study aim was to estimate the profit opportunities of several superior hybrids of giant gourami as new species candidates for freshwater aquaculture. The test fish used were seven months old giant gourami from eight combination crosses. In each cross, 200 fishes with weight ranging between 73.5-111 g were taken randomly. Grow-out activities were conducted in concrete ponds of 50 m2, with 80 cm water deep. The observation was carried out for two months. The feed was given 3% biomass/day using commercial floating pellets with protein contents between 28%-30%, given twice a day. The results showed that the hybrid of Majalengka female x Jambi male (MJ) had the fastest growth compared to the other hybrids, followed by Kalimantan female x Majalengka male (KM). However, the best feed efficiency was achieved by KM and followed by MJ. Penentuan jenis patogen dilakukan dengan identifikasi bakteri secara kimiawi dan menggunakan PCR. Hasil identifikasi bakteri pada ikan toman dengan uji biokimia mengarah pada Aeromonas hydrophila, Aeromonas salmonicida, Myroides sp., dan Edwardsiella sp. Begitupula hasil uji molekuler menggunakan PCR 16S rRNA seluruh isolat teridentifikasi sebagai bakteri. Spesies parasit yang teridentifikasi menginfeksi ikan toman dari golongan protozoa yaitu Trichodina sp., Vorticella sp., Henneguya sp., Oodinium sp., dan Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, parasit golongan trematoda yaitu Dactylogyrus sp. dan golongan acanthochepala yaitu spesies Acanthochepalus sp. Hasil uji virulensi melalui infeksi buatan menunjukkan bahwa bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila sangat virulen terhadap ikan toman, Channa micropeltes dengan tingkat kematian mencapai 100% dalam waktu 24 jam. The purpose of this study was to identify the pathogenicity and virulence of Aeromonas hydrophila in toman fish. General bacterial identification was carried out using biochemical analyzes and followed by PCR tests. Several pathogenic bacterial were found in the fish samples consisting of Aeromonas hydrophila, Aeromonas salmonicida, Myroides sp., and Edwardsiella sp. The PCR 16S rRNA test confirmed that all of the isolates were all bacteria. Parasites species identified in the samples of toman fish were Trichodina sp., Vorticella sp., Henneguya sp., Oodinium sp., Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, Dactylogyrus sp. and Acanthochepalus sp. Kendala dalam pengembangan budidaya ikan ini adalah ketersediaan benih karena rendahnya fekunditas, daya tetas telur, dan sintasan. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan perbaikan kualitas induk untuk meningkatkan produktivitas benih. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi keragaan reproduksi induk ikan baung generasi kedua (G2) hasil domestikasi dibandingkan dengan induk alam dan pertumbuhan benih yang dihasilkannya. Induk yang digunakan berbobot 300-500 g (n=10 ekor). Pemijahan dilakukan secara buatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nyata pada sintasan benih yang dihasilkan dari kedua jenis induk (alam: 69,8 ± 9,9%; G2: 93,7 ± 2,8%) (p 0,05). Sementara itu, pada parameter pertumbuhan benih yang dihasilkan dari kedua jenis induk, pertambahan panjang (alam: 3,05 ± 0,31 cm; G2: 2,63 ± 0,21 cm), pertambahan bobot (alam: 1,79 ± 0,22 g; G2: 1,40 ± 0,20 g), dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik (alam: 8,65 ± 3,87%; G2: 7,71 ± 2,66%) juga tidak berbeda nyata (p>0,05). Benih hasil domestikasi generasi kedua menunjukkan tingkat kanibalisme yang lebih rendah. Asian redtail catfish, Hemibagrus nemurus is one of the important fish commodities for local consumption in Indonesia. Current culture development of this species is impeded by insufficient availability of seedlings due to low egg fecundity and hatchability as well as low seed survival rate. Therefore, it is necessary to improve broodstock quality with a final objective to increase seedlings productivity. This research was carried out to study the reproductive performance of the second-generation (G2) of domesticated Asian redtail catfish broodstocks and compared with the wild broodstocks. The research also observed the growth of fingerlings produced from both broodstocks. Each broodstock had a weight range between 300-500 g (n=10 fish). Spawning was conducted by induced breeding. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the survival rate of seedlings produced from both broodstocks (wild: 69.8 ± 9.9%; G2: 93.7 ± 2.8%) (p 0.05). The observed growth parameters of seedlings produced from both broodstocks were length gain (wild: 3.05 ± 0.31 cm; G2: 2.63 ± 0.21 cm), weight gain (wild: 1.79 ± 0.22 g; G2: 1.40 ± 0.20 g), and specific growth rate (wild: 8.65 ± 3.87%; G2: 7.71 ± 2.66%) which were also not significantly different (p>0.05). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengamati dan mengevaluasi performa pertumbuhan dua generasi (G0 dan G1) ikan uceng. Penelitian ini menggunakan ikan uceng G0 yang diperoleh melalui hasil tangkapan alam dari Sungai Progo, Temanggung, Jawa Tengah dan ikan uceng G1 diperoleh dari hasil pemijahan semi-buatan induk ikan uceng dari lokasi yang sama. Ikan yang digunakan berukuran panjang total 5,57 ± 0,528 cm dan bobot 1,06 ± 0,270 g. Uji performa pertumbuhan ikan uceng dilakukan pada akuarium (40 cm × 30 cm × 30 cm) dengan dua ulangan, dengan kepadatan 20 ekor per akuarium. Pengamatan pertumbuhan dilakukan setiap 30 hari sekali selama 330 hari masa pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot kedua generasi tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (p>0,05). Selisih laju pertumbuhan bobot harian sebesar 0,02% dengan pertumbuhan biomassa G1 3,69% lebih besar daripada G0, namun nilai tersebut tidak berbeda nyata (p>0,05). Sintasan kedua generasi juga tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (p>0,05). Selisih nilai koefisien variasi antara generasi G1 dan G0 cukup besar untuk memperlihatkan perbedaan 24,91% dengan nilai faktor kondisi G0 sebesar 0,99 ± 0,13 dan G1 sebesar 1,00 ± 0,18. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata pada performa pertumbuhan antara ikan uceng G0 dan G1. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa proses domestikasi ikan uceng dari G0 ke G1 pada penelitian ini belum menghasilkan perubahan yang signifikan dari aspek keragaan pertumbuhan dari generasi awal (ikan liar/hasil tangkapan alam) ke generasi berikutnya dalam proses domestikasi. Barred loach (Nemacheilus fasciatus Val. 1846) is a species of freshwater fish locally known as uceng fish and highly valued in Indonesia’s local markets. The demand of this fish species still relies on wild stock population. As such, a domestication effort prior to the development of its aquaculture technology has to be started in order to maintain the long term fish sustainability. This research was conducted with the aim to evaluate the growth performance of two generations (G0 and G1) of uceng fish. This study used G0 uceng fish caught from the Progo River, Temanggung, Central Java and the G1 were obtained from a semi-artificial spawning of uceng fish broodstock from the same location. The fish used had a total length of 5.57 ± 0.528 cm and a weight of 1.06 ± 0.270 g. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah pakan dengan: tanpa suplementasi S. cerevisiae (S0; kontrol), suplementasi S. cerevisiae 2% (S2), suplementasi S. cerevisiae 4% (S4), dan suplementasi S. cerevisiae 6% (S6). Wadah penelitian yang digunakan adalah waring hitam berukuran 1 m x 1 m x 2 m, dengan kedalaman air 1,5 m; ditebari ikan uji dengan kepadatan 20 ekor/wadah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Pemberian pakan dilakukan dua kali sehari sebanyak 4% dari biomassa ikan uji. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan 2% S. cerevisiae dalam pakan memberikan respons pertambahan bobot dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik yang lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Nilai koefisien kecernaan total pakan relatif sama antara perlakuan S2, S4, dan S6, namun ketiganya lebih tinggi dan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan kontrol (S0). Jumlah sel darah merah (eritrosit) dan aktivitas fagositosis mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan (P<0,05) seiring dengan penambahan S. cerevisiae dibanding kontrol (S0). Suplementasi S. cerevisiae dapat dilakukan sebanyak 2% dalam formulasi pakan ini untuk pembesaran ikan baronang. The utilization of Saccharomyces cerevisiae supplemented in artificial feed of protein plant-based can increase the growth of several of aquaculture fish species. This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of S. cerevisiae supplementation in artificial diet on the growth performance of rabbitfish. The test animals used were rabbitfish with an initial weight of 30-32 g/fish. The treatments tried were artificial diets with: no supplementation of S. cerevisiae (S0; control), supplementation of S. cerevisiae 2% (S2), supplementation of S. cerevisiae 4% (S4), and supplementation of S. cerevisiae 6% (S6). The fish were reared in twelve net cages of 1 m x 1 m x 2 m, with a density of 20 ind./cage. Completely randomized design was used in this experiment. The fish were fed with test diets twice a day as much as 4% of total biomass. The results showed that the supplementation of 2% S. cerevisiae in diet gave higher weight gain and specific growth rate (P<0.05) than those of other treatments. The value of total feed digestibility coefficient was relatively the same between treatments S2, S4, and S6, but the three of them were higher and significantly different (P<0.05) than the control (S0). Ikan tambakan generasi ke-2 dengan panjang total 2,10 ± 0,18 cm dan bobot 4,83 ± 0,17 g yang diperoleh melalui program domestikasi dipelihara di kolam bak beton yang diberi sekat (ukuran 3 m x 3,5 m x 1 m). Pakan komersial berupa pelet terapung (protein 39%-41%; lemak 5%) diberikan sebanyak 3% per hari dari biomassa dengan frekuensi pemberian sebanyak tiga kali. Perlakuan kepadatan yang dilakukan pada penelitian adalah 25, 50, dan 75 ekor/m2 dengan tiga ulangan. Pengambilan data dilakukan setiap 30 hari sebanyak 30 ekor dari setiap ulangan selama 150 hari masa pemeliharaan terhadap panjang, bobot, kelangsungan hidup, biomassa, dan rasio konversi pakan. Pengukuran kualitas air juga dilakukan sebagai data pendukung. Stocking density is one of the influencing growth performance indicators in aquaculture. This study was conducted to determine the optimum stocking density in optimizing the growth rate of kissing gourami. The study was carried out at the Research Station for Freshwater Fisheries Germplasm, Cijeruk, RIFAFE Bogor. A second generation of kissing gourami with total length of 2.10 ± 0.18 cm and body weight of 4.83 ± 0.17 g produced from a domestication program were reared in separated-nets concrete ponds (pond division: 3 m x 3,5 m x 1 m) and fed using commercial floating pellets (protein: 39%-41%; lipid: 5%). Feed was given 3% of biomass per day with a feeding frequency of three times per day. Stocking density treatments in this study were 25, 50, and 75 fish/m2 with three replications. Data collection was conducted every 30 days from 30 fish in each replicate during 150 days of rearing period on growth parameters including length, weight, survival rate, biomass, and feed conversion ratio. Water quality measurement was also conducted as supplementary data. Pemeliharaan ikan nila srikandi dilakukan menggunakan tambak yang berukuran ± 3.000 m2 sebanyak tiga unit di mana setiap petak tambak disekat menjadi dua sehingga terdapat enam unit petak percobaan. Setiap unit percobaan ditebar sebanyak 10.000 ekor benih ikan. Ikan nila srikandi dipelihara selama empat bulan dan diberi pakan harian sebanyak 1%-2% dari bobot tubuh pada pukul 07.00, 12.00, dan 17.00. Ikan diberi pakan uji pada bulan ke-1 dan ke-2 sebanyak 1% dari bobot tubuh, kemudian pemberian pakan ditingkatkan menjadi 2% pada pemeliharaan bulan ke-3 dan ke-4. Performa ikan nila srikandi (pertumbuhan, laju pertumbuhan, dan kelangsungan hidup) yang diberi pakan mandiri dan pakan komersil diuji dengan menggunakan uji-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan ikan nila srikandi tidak berbeda nyata antara yang diberi pakan pakan mandiri dengan yang diberi pakan komersil (P>0,05). Kemudian, hasil produksi ikan nila srikandi yang diberi pakan mandiri mencapai 2.214 ± 172,69 kg dan pakan komersil 2.248,5 ± 234,85 kg. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of locally-produced and commercial feeds on the growth of Srikandi tilapia cultured in fish farming areas of Brebes Regency, Central Java. Tilapia Srikandi were cultured in three ponds sized approximately ± 3,000 m2. Each pond was divided into two sections divided by a net, which resulted in six experimental plots. Each experimental plot was stocked with 10,000 fish seeds. Srikandi tilapia were maintained for four months and given daily feed as much as 1%-2% of body weight with feeding time at 07.00, 12.00, and 17.00. The fish were given test feeds in the 1st and 2nd month as much as 1% of body weight. The feeding level was increased to 2% in the 3rd and 4th months. The performances of Srikandi tilapia (growth, growth rate, and survival) fed with the two feed types were tested using the T-test. The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference on growth performance between fish fed with locally-produced feed and commercial feed (P>0.05). The total harvest of Srikandi tilapia fed with the locally produced feed reached 2,214 ± 172.69 kg and 2,248.5 ± 234.85 kg for the commercial feed. Aplikasi haematococcus telah dilakukan pada larva kerapu sunu dan menunjukkan adanya perbaikan peformansi warna merah yang cukup signifikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh haematococcus sebagai sumber astaxanthin terhadap pertumbuhan, total karotenoid, dan profil darah (hematokrit dan haemoglobin) pada juvenil ikan kerapu sunu. Benih kerapu sunu ukuran panjang rata-rata 14,07 ± 0,07 cm dan bobot rata-rata 45,92 ± 6,35 g dipelihara dalam jarring berukuran 0,5 m x 0,5 m x 1 m yang diletakkan dalam bak beton ukuran 3 m x 1,2 m x 1,2 m. Kepadatan ikan tiap jaring adalah lima ekor. Perlakuan yang diujicobakan adalah penambahan haematococcus ke dalam pakan buatan dengan dosis dan kompisisi sebagai berikut: A) 1% dari berat pakan, B) 1% dari berat pakan + 10% minyak ikan, dan C) 0% (kontrol). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan haematococcus ke dalam pakan tidak memberikan perbedaan nyata terhadap pertumbuhan mutlak panjang dan bobot, serta laju pertambahan panjang dan bobot (P value > 0,05). Penambahan haematococcus memberikan perbedaan nyata (P value 0.05). The addition of haematococcus gave a significant difference (P-value < 0.05) to feed conversion ratio between treatment A, B and C with the values of 1.99 ± 0.09, 2.12 ± 0.14, and 2.28 ± 0.09, respectively. The addition of haematococcus also increased the levels of total carotene content, hematocrit, and hemoglobin.
