During the last thirty years, different approaches, based on microwave remote sensing have been developed to estimate surface parameters, describing soil and vegetation cover. In this context, since the 90s', the high availability of measurements coming from Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has created a new area of microwave remote sensing for oceanic and continental surfaces. The GNSS reflectometry (GNSS-R), for which GNSS signals are used in a bistatic configuration to monitor and estimate surface parameters (moisture, biomass of vegetation cover, etc) has been exploited. This paper illustrates firstly the physical bases of GNSS-R techniques. It illustrates also an example of GNSS-R application through the airborne GLORI campaigns over the south West of France (agricultural sites, Landes forest). Results illustrate a high potential of GNSS-R observables to retrieve soil moisture and vegetation properties in agricultural and forest areas.","PeriodicalId":332253,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115540418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The low resulted spatial resolution affects the accuracy of the diagnosis, and makes the staging and the prognosis of lung cancer more difficult. Restoring images through the use of Partial Volume Corrections (PVC) techniques allows a better quantitative estimation of the tumor uptake and a more efficient image analysis. The purpose of this study, is to cover the different approaches proposed in the literature used to correct the PVE in PET/CT in relation with lung cancer.","PeriodicalId":332253,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP)","volume":"03 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127281334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the high spectral dimensionality of hyperspectral images degrades classification accuracy and increases computational complexity. To overcome these issues, dimensionality reduction has become an essential preprocessing step in order to enhance classifiers performances using hyperspectral images. Dimensionality reduction tackles the problem of the high dimensionality, but also the high correlation between the spectral bands of hyperspectral images. In this paper, we first review the main dimensionality reduction approaches and compare their performances when used for the classification task using the Support Vector Machines classifier. We also propose a combination of feature extraction and band selection for classification. We report the performances of all these methods using real hyperspectral images and show their efficiency for hyperspectral image classification.","PeriodicalId":332253,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132070462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This issue results in the need of a new generation of video coding techniques to increase the quality and compression rates of previous standards. Recently, a new coding tool is been developed by the Joint Exploration team on Future Video Coding (JVET) to define the Post HEVC referred by the Joint Exploration test Model software (JEM) with the main goal is to provide a high bit rate saving compared to the previous HEVC standard. In this paper we present a performance-based comparison between the post HEVC and H265/HEVC under test Model (HM) through an objective measurements and a subjective quality metric. A set of video sequences, in two spatial resolutions Ultra-High Definition (UHD) and Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) has been encoded using both JEM version and HM version software at different bitrates. Results have shown that JEM obtains a higher bit rate performance compared to HM reference software. In addition another subjective metric called Video Quality Assessment metric (VQA) was used to validate the superiority of JEM outputted videos quality compared to those of HM for the same bit rate.","PeriodicalId":332253,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP)","volume":"152 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114049788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, this area can be detected by remote sensing from sea surface chlorophyll (SSC) or sea surface temperature images. In this context, We processed 46 images of the year 2014 for each type of the two parameters in order to combine them into a single image more informative and suitable for visual perception. So, in this work, we propose an ensemble algorithm for feature level fusion using Alpha Blending technique set to determine efficiency and comfortably the educated region. The output images has been tested and validated by the oceanographer. He demonstrated that our proposed methodology gives satisfactory and promising results.","PeriodicalId":332253,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121288078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, by increasing the number of subsets of this method, the convergence of this algorithm is speeded which can lead to undesirable noise levels amplification and inaccurate detection of lesion in low activity image regions. This paper presents a new algorithm for bone SPECT image reconstruction based on ordered subset expectation maximization (OSEM) algorithms and can remove the noise from images with the best degree of accuracy. In our proposed method, a de-noising pre-processing Butterworth filter is applied on the projections followed by OSEM algorithm to reconstruct 128 axial slices from a 128 enhanced sinograms, and finally we extract the coronal and sagittal slices from the enhanced axial slices volume. Our method was compared to Maximum Likelihood Expectation Maximization (MLEM) and OSEM techniques used only. Each method was tested on a three dimensional Shepp-Logan phantom and a bone SPECT database and evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively. The results show that the proposed method kept quantitative accuracy with preservation of the singularity and exhibited lower noise in low-activity regions while achieving high-resolution recovery in structures with high activity uptake in comparison to other methods.","PeriodicalId":332253,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116831436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have focused on keypoints extraction methods which present the most important phase for registration which are: Surf, Corner and BRISK. The appearance of a large number of false bones has encouraged us to present a new approach that aims to reduce as much as possible the outliers. The class-based image registration based on the theory of possibilities increases the performance so it reduces the number of false keypoints found.","PeriodicalId":332253,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124834740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The LSTM network aims to further improve the modeling of long-range temporal dynamics and to remedy the vanishing and exploding gradient problems of conventional reccurent neural network (RNN). Motivated by the tremendous success of the LSTM, we present in this paper a systematic approach of keywords spotting (KWS) in continuous speech. This system performs on two stages, in first one the continuous speech is decoded into phonetic flow using an hybrid model based LSTM network in combination with Hidden Markov Model (HMM) built with the open source speech recognition toolkit Kaldi, and in the second stage the keywords will be identified and detected from this phones sequence using the Classification and Regression Tree (CART) implemented with the software MATLAB. The work and experiments are conducted on the TIMIT data set.","PeriodicalId":332253,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115047682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
