To reap maximum benefits from the methodology, businesses typically need to implement coordinated changes in development methodologies, tools, product architectures, organizational designs, and business models. Product lines are developed in complex international software ecosystems, but there is no coordinated set of international standards for defining and leveraging the methodology. As a result, ecosystems cannot adopt standardized methods and tools for developing product lines, tool vendors face difficulties in developing tools to enable product line engineering, and universities cannot effectively set up product line engineering courses because an internationally accepted curriculum is missing. The International Organization for Standardization has initiated several projects to create a set of international standards for software product line engineering. Practitioners, researchers, and other stakeholders can contribute to these projects through their national standards bodies. In the process of adaptation, the commanders depend on information management systems for information. Yet there are still numerous reports of situations in which commanders had to make decisions based on incomplete, outdated or incorrect information, indicating poor information quality. In many of these situations, poor information quality can be attributed to the information management process incapable of adapting to external (environmental) changes and internal (team) information needs. How can the relationships among multiple ICTs be described and analyzed in a scalable way? In this study, we offer a scalable methodology, based on computational analysis of discourse, to examine the relationships among ICTs. Specifically, we employed Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergence to compare the semantic similarity of forty-seven ICTs discussed in the trade magazine InformationWeek over a decade. Using hierarchical clustering, we have found that the similarity of the technologies can be mapped in a hierarchy and similar technologies demonstrated similar discourses. The results establish the validity of our approach and demonstrate its scalability and richness. With the growth in these programs, the complexities in their management and control have also increased. One of the challenges faced by LRPs managers is that of developing models to address various forecasting issues to support short, medium, and long term planning and operational decision-making. We propose in this paper a predictive model of redemption and liability in LRPs. The proposed approach is an aggregate inventory model in which the liability of points is modeled as a stochastic process. So far process modeling has been mainly performed with generic process modeling languages. These approaches have however limitations when it comes to the needs of specific problem domains or automated process analysis. Semantic building block based languages (SBBL) aim to overcome those limitations by integrating domain semantics in the modeling language. However, this class of languages is only useful if they exhibit the same expressiveness as generic languages. The energy storage and conversion system in PHEVs, given potentially high levels of future market penetration, represent a sizable dispersed energy storage resource or reactive power source that electric utilities could leverage to their benefit. In this investigation the impact of PHEVs utilized as reactive power resources on fault delayed voltage recovery on distribution systems is analyzed. It is known that fault delayed voltage recovery can cause serious problems on distribution circuits resulting in stalled air-conditioners, motor tripping and other load disruption events. The paper claims that new intermediaries play a potentially significant role in inclusive eGovernment strategies, in both the developed and the developing countries. A selective review of the disparate literature highlights the need for a better understanding of the role of these actors and their impacts on the qualities of the citizens' and public-sector relationships. But, the different measurement models used in empirical research impede the emergence of a consistent perspective on drivers and consequences of innovativeness. We reviewed 12 major journals from various disciplines and found 56 articles that provide measurement models for innovativeness. We propose a method which combines decision, process, and tool support. The method, which is called SCERP, facilitates the active involvement of stakeholders in the different stages of the planning process. SCERP is flexible in the number of stakeholders involved, in the number of releases, in the number and definition of planning criteria, and in the selection of the best plan out of a set of optimized alternatives. A proof-of-concept of the method is given by a case study of release planning for a tool called Agilefant, which is developed with a process partially based on Scrum. Koo","doi":"10.1109/HICSS.2010.480","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/HICSS.2010.480","url":null,"abstract":"The challenge of responding to the environmental issues has changed many aspects of the ways businesses operate, and this is particularly true of electronics companies. \"Going green\" in the IT industry is proving a major challenge, as significant shifts in thinking are needed to secure the benefits associated with being green. Using a content analysis method, we have investigated and expanded the concept of Green IT, as implemented by four major electronic companies. By analyzing these companies' environmental reports, we have established a set of theoretical concepts of Green IT, driven by companies' practical implementations. We proposed nine propositions outlining the theoretical implications. Additionally, our analysis demonstrated that the principal focus of electronic companies is green disposal practices, followed by energy efficiency efforts. We also concluded that regulations and policies coupled with heightened awareness and environmental responsibility on the part of the company can encourage Green IT innovation.
