Whether or not it has been effective, little is known. The research aims to conduct research on EFL lecturers’and students’ perception toward online learning from the perspective of technology acceptance model by Davis et al. (1989). The design of the reserch is descriptive quantitative. There were 14 EFL lecturers  and 121 EFL students recruited in the study. Data collection method was a questionnaire with a 5-Likert scale. Data analysis was descriptive statistics. The findings reveal that the lecturers’perceived usefulness and the perceived ease-of-use fall on high category (respectively, 72,95% and 71,1%) and the students’ lecturers’perceived usefulness and the perceived ease-of-use fall on high category (respectively, 79.10% and 72.50%). Out of all items, the lecturers mostly appreciated the flexibility of online learning in term of time and place (82.86%); and the students mostly appreciated the online learning’s opportunity to study English ((77,19%). There were 244 students as samples by using the simple random sampling technique. This research approach was a quantitative method and the technique used in this research was a correlational technique. In collecting the data, the writer distributed the questionnaire to the respondents to determine the willingness to communicate, which consist of 55 item statements and used documentation of the students' speaking score made by English teachers at the school to determine the speaking performance. The writer used Spearman correlation through SPSS 26.0 to analyze the data. The result of this research showed that sig.r obtained value is 0.000 lower than alpha value (0.05). it means that null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected while alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The research was conducted at SPMN 1 Singingi from Februari 3rd to Februari 27th, 2021.  The population of this research  was 40 students of two classes and researcher took 20 students as the sample. This research was quantitaive- descriptive research. Researcher used fill-in-the-blank text test to collect the data. In analyzing the data, researcher collected and classified each item of the test and multiplied them by standardizing the scores that had been determined before. The next step was counted the percentage of the level of the students’ ability in using personal pronouns. From the research findings, researcher found that the test was gained 1545 from total scores of all the students who joined the test. The average of students' scores was 77.25 and the sum of the total scores was 85%. This study was a descriptive research, the subject of this research was the eleventh grade students’ of SMK Tunas Karya Pekanbaru while the object of this research was students’ error in using preposition in writing narrative text. The researcher used purposive sampling technique to take the sample, there were 35 students as sample from 96 students. To collect the data the researcher used test. The test was conducted to know what types of errors were made by the students when they used preposition in writing narrative text. The result of the error analysis process showed that students committee error into three types: omission, insertion and selection. From the calculation of the data, error of insertion is the most frequent errors that done by the eleventh grade students of SMK Tunas Karya Pekanbaru with the percentage 41.9%. The objective of the research was to explain the kinds of students’ errors in the use of present participle in translating simple dialog at the eleventh grade students of SMK Taruna Masmur Pekanbaru. The research design is descriptive research. The population of this research was the eleventh grade students of SMK Taruna Masmur Pekanbaru in 2017/2018 academic year. It consisted of one class; the number of population was 14 students. The sample of this research was 14 students. The instrument of this research were test and documentation. The technique of analyzing data was quantitative analysis. Based on the data analysis, the researcher concluded that the percentage of all indicators were misformation (40 errors or 56.3%), omission (17 errors or 23.9%), addition (13 errors or 18.3%), and misordering (1 error or 1.4%). There were 28 students as the sample. In collecting data, the researcher distributed the questionnaire to the respondents consist of 15 items and used the documentation of the students' final task made by the English teacher. The data was analyzed by using Scale Likert through SPSS.16. The result of data analysis showed the lowest percentage of categories students' difficulties. This research was a pre-experimental design in the form of one group pre-test and post-test design on quantitative approach. The population of the research was the students of the eleventh grade at MAN 2 Kuantan Singingi consisting of 4 classes (XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, XI IPS 1, and XI IPS 2). By having cluster sampling, it has been selected 20 students from XI IPS 1 out of 105 students on population. To collect the data, the researcher used writing test to know the students’ ability in writing personal letter. The data were analyzed by non-parametric test since the assumption of normally distributed data was not markedly violated. However, the data were interpreted by using Wilcoxon on the SPSS version 23.0 program. The result of the data analyzed showed that the mean score of the students after being taught by using Guided Questions Technique (82.81) was higher than before being taught by using Guided Questions Technique (68.59). This research was classified as a quasi-experimental study. It involved 65 students of two groups, Class X MIPA 5 as the experimental group and Class X MIPA 6 as the control group. The experimental group was taught by using cartoon videos, whereas the control group was taught by using the textbook-based technique. The data were obtained by using a pre-test and a post-test. The pre-test was given to both groups before the treatment and the post-test was given after the treatment. The data of the pre-test and post-test of both groups were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The data were calculated by using a computer program, SPSS 25 for Windows. After the data were tested and found to be homogeneous and normal, the hypothesis was tested using the Kolmogrov-Smirnov test. The results of the research show that there was a significant difference in the speaking ability between the students who were taught by using cartoon video and those who were taught by using the textbook-based technique. The significance value calculated 0.019 is bigger than 0.05 (sig value=0.109>0.05). It seemed that the students got difficulties in answering the TOEFL Test. So, in this research the researcher focused on analyzing the students’ difficulties in answering the Written Expression section of the TOEFL test.  The aims of this research were to identify the categories of items in the Written Expression section of the TOEFL test which were difficult for the fourth semester students of English Study Program UIN Suska Riau, and to identify which categories of items that were easy for the students. This research was a quantitative research. The researcher analyzed the categories of items tested in TOEFL test, especially in the Written Expression section. There were 12 categories of items tested in the Written Expression section of the TOEFL test based on Longman Preparation Course for the TOEFL Test by Deborah Phillips (2000: 144-221). The categories consisted of subject-verb agreement, parallel structure, comparative and superlative, the use of the verbs, the forms of the verbs, passive verbs, nouns, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs, articles, prepositions and usages   The result of the research showed that all of the categories of items were difficult for the students. None of the categories of items were easy for the students. The most difficult category for the students was usages. This research was conducted based on some problems related to the cultural contents dissemination in the English Textbook. Absolutely, the objective of national education in Indonesia is set based on the cultural value and ideology of the nation. Thus, English textbook evaluation need to be conducted in order to know the appropriateness of the contents in the textbook. This research consisted of two formulations of the problem: how are the cultural contents disseminated in the English textbook entitled ‘English in Focus for Grade VIII (SMP/MTs), and what are the cultural contents disseminated in the English textbook. The objectives of this research are to know about how the cultural contents are disseminated in the English textbook and what are the cultural contents disseminated in the English textbook. The data of the research were collected from reading passages and also pictures in the English Textbook which was published by National Education Department. This research is a descriptive qualitative but the element of quantitative in the form of how the data are counted in a percentage has also been used. In order to know what cultural contents are disseminated in the English Textbook, the cultural contents were categorized into the source or local culture, the target culture, and the international culture (Cortazzi & Jin, 1999). Moreover, in order to know how the cultural contents were disseminated in the English Textbook, the cultural contents were categorized into four senses; the aesthetic sense, the sociological sense, the semantic sense, and the pragmatic sense (Adaskou, Britten & Fahsi, 1990).The research found that local or source culture was predominant in the textbook. The cultural contents of (43.75%) referred to the local culture, (40.62%) referred to the international culture, and (21.87%) referred to the target culture. Additionally, in order to know how the cultural contents are disseminated in textbook, the research found that generally the cultural contents were disseminated by the aesthetic sense (46.15%), the sociological sense (30.76%), and the pragmatic sense (23.07%), while the semantic sense was not found. Based on the findings, it could be concluded that the contents of English textbook in focus for grade VIII has already successfully achieved the national education goal.
