The cases were some students’ reading comprehension still low or below standard passing of test. The research was classroom action research. The participants of this research were the Fourth Semester Students of School of Foreign Language at Persada Bunda. They are consisted of 12 students. This research was held into two cycles, each cycle consisted of three meetings. The research data were divided into two major types namely, quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data were taken through reading comprehension test. The qualitative data were collected through observation, and field notes. The result of the analysis showed that the students grades improved after internet using. The improvement happened on each cycle at the research. The improvement of students’ reading comprehension scores were influenced by factors such as motivation, interest, and classroom atmosphere. Thus, it was concluded that internet using can improve students’ reading comprehension. The internet using also increases students’ speed in reading comprehension that can be used by students of School of Foreign Language at Persada Bunda. When students communicate verbally with teachers or with friends, their abilities will automatically develop. However, in online classes the researcher found that students were passive and didn't want to calculate their progress, they would be slower. Therefore, this study aims to see how the students’ involvement in EFL online classroom during Covid-19 Pandemic at State Senior High School 1 Bengkalis with the hope that teachers can try to overcome it. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. To measure the data, researchers used observation, video documentation, and interviews. The data analysis technique used in this research is to use qualitative data analysis techniques developed by Miles, (2019) there are includes three activities, namely: data reduction, data presentation, concluding, or levers. The results of this study are: First, students’ involvement with the teacher is passive. Second, students’ involvement with other students. Students can interact with their classmates in the online learning process even though the response is very time-consuming because the teacher or student's internet connection network is sometimes bad and interferes with the learning process. Third, students’ involvement with the material. The involvement of English students with learning materials at SMA N 1 can be said to be good. Because the English teacher teaches well like how he does face-to-face learning in class. The difference is, teacher uses an online application. An experimental research was conducted toward the fourth semester of Diploma III students at STIPARY Tourism Academy majoring in Hospitality. The population consists of 118 students and they were divided into 4 classes in which class A and B were randomly chosen as the samples. 100 words from the corpus created from articles in the tourism field were listed through the corpus data and the level of familiarity rated by the students. Based on the analysis result, it could be seen that Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value was 0,000, which was less than the probability value of 0,05. For example, some students still had the difficulties in finding out the main idea and analyzing the reading text. Thus, the writer was interested in carrying out this research based the problems above. The objective of this research was to find out whether there was or nor significant effect of using Vocabulary Journal strategy on students’ reading comprehension at State Junior High School 1 Cerenti Kuantan Singingi Regency.The design of this research was a quasi experimental design. The population of this research was the eighth grade students of Junior High School 1 Cerenti Kuantan Singingi Regency in 2015-2016 academic years. The sample was taken by using cluster random sampling. The sample was VIII 1 as an experimental class, and VIII 2 as control class. Thus, the number of sample from two classes was 54 students. To analyze the data, the writer adopted independent sample T-test formula by using SPSS 16.0 version. After analyzing the data, the writer found the result of t-observe was 2.03 < 5.386 > 2.72. From 107 students of the total population which consisted of three classes, the researcher took 33 students as the sample by using purposive sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher distributed questionnaire to the respondents to measure their reading motivation in reading comprehension of narrative text. The questionnaire was based on the eleventh indicators of reading motivation which adapted from Motivation for Reading Questionnaire (MRQ) by Watkins and Coffey and combined with narrative components by Suwardati.in analyzing the data, the questionnaire was assessed by rating scale. The result of this research showed that the female students’ motivation in comprehending narrative text was 66,2%, and it was categorized into high level of motivation. Meanwhile the sample was proportion of the population that consist of 2 classes. X6 was experimental class and X9 was control class. The number of sample was selected by using cluster sampling. To analyze the data the writer gave pretest and posttest then analyzed the data by using independent sample t-test by using SPSS 16 version and effect size formula. After analyzing the data, where the 2-tailed value was smaller than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). The result of effect size was 0.3 categorized as large effect. Thus, null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The total population of this research was 210 students which consisted of seven classes, the researchers took 20% of the population as the sample by stratified random sampling. The design of this research was quanitative used comparative research. In collecting the data, the researchers distributed a reding comprehension test based on the indicators. After analyzing the data, the researchers found that that there was a significant difference of reading comprehension between natural science and social science students on reading descriptive text comprehension at the tenth grade of State Senior High School 1 Tapung. It was considered by t obtained = 3.329 that was higher than t-table either at 5% = 2.021 or 1% = 2.704. It means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. However, according to the preliminary study on Senior High in Pekanbaru. The students still have problem in learning English. They are reticent and passive in the classroom. They tend to be silent and quiet during the learning process. The class participation is far from the expectation of the learning objective from the curriculum. Therefore, this research was aimed to find out the factors that influenced students’ reticence in English classroom and the dominant factor that caused students reticence at Senior High School in Pekanbaru. This research is descriptive quantitative research, which data were collected by a questionnaire. The sample was randomly selected for 102 students out of 289 students of population. the writer found the factors that influence of students’ reticence in English classroom; First, they are the individual factors with 3.05 mean score by the percentage was 61.1%. Second, psychological factors with 2.71 mean score by percentage 54.3%. Third, affective factors with 2.65 mean score by percentage 53%. Fourth, environment factors with 2.60 mean score by percentage 52.1%. Finally, linguistic factors with 2.53 mean score by 50.6%. Meanwhile, the dominant factor that caused the students’ reticence in English classroom is individual factors that were the main indicator is underprepared with the percentage of 62.6%. The students felt nervous and did not confident to speak English.
