There are many ways to improve the functioning of the city’s road infrastructure, enabling reduction of the congestion level. The proper level of transport infrastructure development is indispensable for the proper functioning of transport, which determines the effective transport service of residents, and thus improves the broadly understood quality of life. \u0000The article focuses on the effects possible to achieve thanks to the implementa-tion of investments in road infrastructure with particular emphasis on city bypasses. The example of Starogard Gdański presents the problem of eliminating transit traffic from city centers through the construction of a bypass. The article discusses the results of the experiment carried out to estimate the benefits of the construction of the Starogard Gdański bypass. As part of the experiment, the travel time and fuel consumption were measured during the passage of a passenger car on the route from the planned initial node to the final node of the future bypass. So far, no system has been introduced that is based entirely on 4th generation electrically assisted bicycles. The MEVO fleet will ultimately consist of 4080 bicycles, whose power supply is transferred from the batteries replaced by service technicians. Currently, 30% of the target fleet operates in the area of 14 cities and municipalities. The launch of the system revealed a number of problems that have not yet found practical and effective solutions. Thearticle presents the premises for creating the system in the Gdańsk–Gdynia–Sopot Metropolitan Area. Problems related to the launch and operation of MEVO in the first three weeks of operation, which affect the low availability of functional bikes have been discussed. Every year there is an increase in the number of transported people and loads. The share of passenger and cargo transport by air in relation to other competitive transport branches is still growing. The biggest advantage of this branch is the possibility of transporting passengers as well as long-distance loads in a relatively short time. One of the service segments of the air transport market is cargo sub-market. Its development is primarily due to the needs of the economy and environmental conditions. The effects of spatial differentiation causing that goods are produced in places where they are not always consumed, contributes to the increase in demand for transport services, including air transport. As a result of the devel-opment of globalization processes on transport markets, changes in the structure of transported goods are observed. In the 21st century, the e-commerce segment plays a significant role. It should be presumed that there will still be changes in the structure of the cargo transport. The main goal of the article will be to analyze the market for air freight transport. Reaching the goal will be carried out secondary research based on available literature on the subject. As a result of the data analysis, it was found that the largest forwarding companies are: DHL Global Forwarding, CEVA Logistic and DB Schenker. In the above context, the purpose of this article is to discuss the transport function of Polish inland waterways against the background of how primary European inland waterway systems are used. The desk research method was used to analyse waterway use, involving review and consolidation of statistics from various sources capturing freight transport on the primary inland waterways in Europe. Research has shown that inland waterways in Western Europe, regardless of the decline in freight transport in 2009, continue to be important for transport, and their performance may even be higher than that of the infrastructure used for other modes of transport. The transport function of inland waterways in Poland is fading as a consequence of the failure to perform multipurpose waterway management. This paper presents theresearch results oftraffic noise level recorded inthestreet which is a part of the road system of Bielsko-Biala city. Measured noise data was compared to the registered traffic flows, share of heavy vehicles in the traffic flow and to the velocity of vehicles in the traffic flow. To determine the vehicle velocity from recorded video a velocity detection algorithm was used. It was created based on the MatLab package and allows to determine the vehicle velocity in the movie frame. The studies are at the first step towards obtaining general assumptions related to the work leading to the formulation of a semi-empirical model of acoustic impact of traffic flow. The paper shows the strong correlation between traffic flow and sound level. At the same time, it presents a slight impact of the structure and the speed of vehicles on the level of noise. Complicated relations between different actors on various markets indicate the need for simplification of the decision-making process and, at the same time, being focused on the organization’s goals and needs. The development of multi-criteria methods of supporting decision making applies in particular to the area of logistics support, including supply management. One of the methods widely used in this field is the DEMATEL method, which is a classical approach to evaluate suppliers according to survey or interview results. The article aims to present the application of the supplier evaluation procedure according to the criteria indicated by the decision-makers as significant. The literature review was used for specifying the variables. Then, the evaluation procedure was presented, followed by an empirical example.
