Here the objective of the proposed optimal detection algorithm is to give a maximum detection probability for fixed false alarm probability. It is assumed that target is stationary and energy reflected from the target is distributed. The proposed detection algorithm has a squared sliding window in order to combine the reflected signals from the target. As the energy reflected from the target is more distributed, the proposed detector is superior to conventional non-coherent detector. The detection is based on one transmitted pulse against a background of white Gaussian noise (WGN). Several mobility support protocols such as the Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) and the fast handover for the MIPv6 (FMIPv6) have been developed to support seamless handover. However, MIPv6 depreciates Quality-of-Service (QoS) especially for multimedia service applications due to the long handover latency and the packet loss problem. FMIPv6 tries to solve these problems of MIPv6 through handover prediction but the high speed and sudden direction change of vehicles make predictions inaccurate. In this paper, we propose a seamless and robust handover scheme that supports multimedia services in V-WINET/V-ITS. Unlike MIPv6 or FMIPv6 where a new Care-of-Address (nCoA) has to be configured every time when a vehicle meets a new AR (nAR), the proposed scheme continuously maintains the original CoA (oCoA) configured at original Access Router (oAR) and reduces the handover delay caused by the Duplicate Address Detection (DAD). While a vehicle maintains its oCoA, the data packet destined to the vehicle is forwarded from the oAR to the nAR, and finally to the vehicle. At the intersection, the vehicle creates a nCoA to limit the packet forwarding hops between the oAR and the nAR. However, our background DAD scheme reduces the DAD delay at the intersection and also reduces the number of Home Agent (HA) binding updates. However, carrier frequency offset (CFO), which is mainly due to oscillator mismatches and/or Doppler shift, will destroy the orthogonality among subcarriers and introduce intercarrier interference (ICI) as well as multiple-access interference (MAI) in uplink scenario. Thus, system performance will be seriously degraded. To overcome this problem, it is of great importance to do research on suppression of the interferences caused by CFO. In this paper, we proposed a novel time domain inverse matrix receiver to suppress the interference of multiple CFOs. Compared with the conventional frequency domain direct ZF inverse matrix method, which has high complexity in obtaining the ICI matrix and its inverse matrix, the proposed method has very low complexity in obtaining the interference matrix. Furthermore, the signal after interference suppression is a frequency domain signal. Thus the receiver complexity can be simplified. In this paper we study the sensitivity of the optimal parameter setting for packet scheduling in LTE radio networks with respect to various traffic and environment aspects. For our investigations we consider a reference packet scheduling algorithm containing elements of proportional fairness and packet urgency to support mixes of real-time and non-real-time traffic. We present extensive simulation results showing the impact of traffic characteristics (like file size distribution, traffic mix) and environment conditions (regarding e.g. multipath fading and shadowing) on the optimal parameter setting. The IEEE 802.21 working group defines the Media Independent Handover (MIH) standard to provide cross layer control and the information of network environment and services to optimize the handoff process. This work designs and implements the MIH middleware in a Linux platform to provide MIH event services (MIH-ES), MIH command services (MIH-CS) and MIH information services (MIH-IS). Based on the MIH software, we develop a high quality VoIP system which integrates Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP), two MIH-IS based user motion detection (UMD) services and an adaptive QoS playout algorithm (AQP). The MIH services, multi-homing capability and dynamic address configuration extension of SCTP are applied in the VoIP system to perform seamless handoffs. Moreover, AQP adjusts the playout buffer by using the retransmission of partial reliable SCTP (PR-SCTP) and the MIH-ES to reduce the packet loss rate and improve speech quality. In CASR, fixed relays equipped with directional antennas are located at the vertex of the hexagonal cell for sectorization, thus each relay can be shared by three cells. The two frequency planning schemes are designed for different situations, one of which focuses more on the performance of cell one-hop users and the other one focuses on the performance balance between one-hop users and two-hop users. Interference analysis and performance evaluation are implemented for both one-hop users and two-hop users. System-level simulation in multi-cell and multi-user environment shows that compared with the existing cellular relay cell architecture, the proposed CASR combined with the two frequency planning schemes yield higher cell spectral efficiency. The system is quite unique as radio transmission for telemetry services under extreme speed conditions requires not only superior Quality of Service guarantees but must also be able to satisfy these performance requirements under extreme and arbitrarily demanding environments as are typical during any e.g. Formula 1 racing event. Issues related to the Doppler Effect and abrupt changes of the serving HSPA channel are analyzed and addressed here. Conclusions show how a special 3G network design can help to mitigate Doppler Effect impacts. The processes carried out by both the UE and the network to cope with this high speed environment has proven essential to sustain the service in these conditions, as it has the use of suitable receiver Types in the UE. Firstly an analysis on interference impact on femtocells has been provided. Then we explore several techniques to address the interference problem between CSG (closed subscriber group) femtocell and macrocell. When a non-CSG MS comes close to the femtocell in question, the macrocell BS makes the decision (based on the CSG access list exchanged from the femtocell) that unnecessary handover will not be initiated, saving radio resource and signaling load on the network. At the same time various proactive interference mitigation mechanisms can be operated.
