We collect and review data from scholarly and professional literature and documents. Our discussion reveals that Indonesia's self-assessment system whereby taxpayers calculate, report, and pay their tax obligations is problematic because digital peer-to-peer businesses lack clear regulation. Indonesia needs to revamp its tax laws to suit digital transactions in the sharing economy. The article provides insights into steps that need to be taken.","PeriodicalId":325166,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Vocational Higher Education (ICVHE 2018)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134416905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the context of such segregation, the work of media journalists whose work require contact with public affairs tends to be assigned to men. Although today there are a number of respected female journalists, women remain a segregated group of journalists. Against this background, this research examines women journalists life experiences managing and engaging with the ideological veil that structures media work. A decreasing interest in traditional art forms is one of the influences of globalization in Indonesia. The traditional art of wayang was recognized by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2003 as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity and it represents a cultural inheritance that is vulnerable to disuse because of a lack of contemporary patronage. Of course, for the art of the wayang tradition to survive, its records must be preserved and the artform must be further developed. The Wayang Museum in Jakarta is an institution that contributes to the preservation of traditional wayang art through activities such as the curation of exhibitions, the organization of performances, the holding of lectures, and so on. This study aims to review the activities of the Wayang Museum in Jakarta and the investigation was undertaken in stages: first, data were collected through observation; next, they were described, and finally, they were conceptually interpreted via the activities of the museum. The results of this study indicate that the Wayang Museum in Jakarta has implemented its objectives in a satisfactory manner. Further, the study recommends the use of digital media for the re-packaging of traditional wayang art in a contemporary manner so that it can be preserved and fostered for future generations.","PeriodicalId":325166,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Vocational Higher Education (ICVHE 2018)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124686365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

E-commerce transactions can be completed quickly and efficiently anytime and anyplace using the Internet. That characteristic creates problems in applying a transparent and fair tax regulation. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development addresses four types of e-commerce transactions: online marketplaces, online retailers, classified ads, and daily deals. Indonesia has adopted its specifications in setting tax laws. The purpose of this research is to explain and describe the legal certainty and fairness of the e-commerce tax policy in Indonesia. It explains that taxation should be equitable and indifferent between e-commerce and conventional transactions. Taxes must be certain and simple so that taxpayers can anticipate tax consequences of transactions and businesses can base decisions on economic rather than tax considerations. Taxpayers in identical situations making identical transactions should be taxed identically. Potential for tax evasion should be minimized.","PeriodicalId":325166,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Vocational Higher Education (ICVHE 2018)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116407655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Background: Health promoting hospitals (HPH) need to be well-managed to generate good quality program activities. This study was conducted to explore this in depth, and a comprehensive description of the process and problems found in the management of HPH at a private hospital in Lamongan, East Java. Method: This study used the qualitative method. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews, focus group discussion (FGD), observation, and document analysis. This research focused on organizational activities such as planning, organizing, actuating, evaluation and also the output of HPH. Result: In the management process, there has been no planning of HPH activities in the last three years. Organization of the HPH team is set out by Director's decree, including team roles, functions and structure of the team. However, most of the functionaries did not know that they are part of HPH unit. Many kinds of HPH activities have been conducted, such as interactive health talks on the radio, providing a health channel on television installed in some strategic places, spreading health information via posters, leaflets, banners, and also an empowering patients club. Unfortunately, the hospital top management has never evaluated the process to measure the unit’s outputs. Conclusion: Overall, the main problem in the management process of HPH is a lack of commitment to performing planning activity. This happened due to low coordination among HPH team members that consisted of hospital department representatives.","PeriodicalId":325166,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Vocational Higher Education (ICVHE 2018)","volume":"1111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116059472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Managerial overconfidence is defined as the manager‘s excessive confidence that can be measured when the growth of the company‘s assets is higher than its sales growth. The financial condition is measured by the prediction of bankruptcy using the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) model. The results showed that the likelihood of an auditor‘s hesitation of the company‘s going concerns is positively associated with managerial overconfidence in Indonesia because the auditor has a positive view on the ability of management. In addition, there is the likelihood that the auditor‘s hesitation of a company‘s going concerns is positively associated with the prediction of bankruptcy.","PeriodicalId":325166,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Vocational Higher Education (ICVHE 2018)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126944486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
