In contrast, the key to successful curriculum implementation depends on the understanding and ability of teachers to translate and develop the curriculum itself. This study purposed to reveal science teachers’ knowledge and understanding on differentiated learning and the Merdeka Curriculum. This study involved sixty-five participants with a professional background as science teachers at the Lower Secondary School level. Small-scale surveys were conducted using complex multiple-choice item questions. This study reveals the average science teacher’s understanding of differentiated learning and the changes in science subjects in terms of content and process according to the Merdeka Curriculum only 37.85%. Furthermore, the findings show that current training had minimal impact on the science teachers’ preexisting knowledge. Therefore, according to the Merdeka Curriculum, the training pattern’s vital role must be concerned with developing teacher knowledge and understanding of changes in science subjects for the Lower Secondary School and the learning process. However, despite some limitations, we also think that the spaces for teachers’ curriculum agency patterns can be used to improve the science teachers’ knowledge and understanding on differentiated learning and the Merdeka Curriculum.","PeriodicalId":32477,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Tarbiyah","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46978390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dropping out of school has a negative impact on a child's development, and has a social impact on society. This study aims to describe the mentoring of Islamic religious values to dropout students, analyze the method of mentoring Islamic religious values, and provide an overview of the inhibiting factors for mentoring Islamic religious values to dropout students. The researchers use a qualitative method with a case study approach. Researchers used in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document study techniques. The results of the study provide an overview of students dropping out of school through non-formal education study groups getting assistance with Islamic religious values ranging from the values of wisdom, honesty, faith, morals, and basic values. Islamic religious values are implemented through mentoring methods including: habituation methods, exemplary, and mau'izah hasanah (good advice). Obstacles during the process of mentoring Islamic religious values to dropout students include: (1) the economic condition of the community below the poverty line; (2) laggard community culture; (3) lack of parental attention to children's education; (4) the unavailability of learning facilities at the junior high school level; and (5) the location of the school which is far from the community's house. So, parents and students dropping out of school have to spend more money, time, and energy to travel to the nearest school. However, the implication that occurs when education access is not available is that more dropout students do not get the 12 year compulsory education service as announced by the government.","PeriodicalId":32477,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Tarbiyah","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49547275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Efforts can be made to increase student learning outcomes by applying the M-APOS learning model. This study investigates whether or not there is a significant effect of the M-APOS learning model on mathematical problem-solving abilities in terms of the self-esteem of East Jakarta Vocational School students Region II, 2021-2022 academic year. This study is an experimental study that compares the value of the experimental class using the M-APOS model with the value of the control class using the conventional model. The values are analyzed using the t-test, where the results of the t-test indicate that 𝑡count = 15.736 and df= 82. Besides it was found that 𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑏e = 1.989. The test criteria are that the 𝐻0 is rejected if 𝑡count > 𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑏e and it was found that 15.736 > 0.165. Based on the test results, the 𝐻0 is rejected. This means that there are differences in the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who receive the M-APOS learning model and those who receive conventional learning models.","PeriodicalId":32477,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Tarbiyah","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69653248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
