This quantitative study utilized questionnaire to collect the data. The data is processed based on a standardized scale in the assessment of basic teaching skills using the Likert scale. Based on the distribution of 32 respondents viewed from 7 indicators of opening skills, namely indicators of attracting attention and generating motivation, 23 respondents received a scale of 5 (very good) with an achievement of 0.68. The skills to close the lesson are indicators providing references, showing links, and making summaries. The visible scale is 2 (less) with 27 respondents, and the level of achievement is 0.84. In general, the skills of opening lessons are in a good category, but the skills of closing lessons are still lacking. Observation of the skill to explain, it appears that the achievement score indicators of motivation and clarity (use of language, intonation) got a score of 5 (very good) from 25 respondents, with an achievement of 0.78. In detail, the weaknesses can be seen in the organization of insufficient material explanations, providing relevant examples, and applying fun learning methods. Questions or feedback are only memory and memorization, as seen in 27 respondents who got a scale of 2 (less) with an achievement of 0.87. It means that microteaching provides positive effect in helping them become more confident, gain experience, teach a lesson effectively, communicate effectively, wrap up a lesson, manage a classroom, plan ahead, and manage their time effectively.","PeriodicalId":32470,"journal":{"name":"AlIshlah Jurnal Pendidikan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45634149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, this research aims to find out Junior High school students' motivation in learning pronunciation by using the Rosetta Stone in three dimensions of self-determination theory in terms of autonomy, competence and relatedness. The quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with 30 samples divided into two groups was used in this methodology. The experimental group received face-to-face instruction using Rosetta Stone, while the control group only received instruction using the drilling technique. Furthermore, the result of statistical analysis showed a significant difference between the groups in terms of total support for the experimental group. As a result, Rosetta Stone inspired students to participate in the pronunciation class, and they are enthusiastic and satisfied with the use of Rosetta Stone in the classroom.","PeriodicalId":32470,"journal":{"name":"AlIshlah Jurnal Pendidikan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49233382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It helps them master the alphabet. The goals of this research are to (1) determine the extent to which Big Book media are being used to teach the alphabet in kindergarten, (2) examine the ways in which teachers are using Big Book media to teach the alphabet, and (3) draw conclusions about the implications of utilising Big Book media to teach students to recognise individual letters. Because kindergarteners often struggle to recognise and recall the alphabet, teachers often resort to Big Book media. To aid children's memorisation and speed with letter recognition, the Big Book includes a section devoted to the alphabet. Qualitative methods of description were used in this investigation. Observation, interviews, and thorough documentation are the backbone of the data collection process. The three phases of data analysis are reducing data, presenting data, and making conclusions. The study's findings suggest that (1) Big Book media improves children's letter recognition when compared to other media. (2) In this kindergarten, teachers use Big Book media for teaching letter recognition since it is more engaging and straightforward for young students. Three implications of Big Book media, which is used as a medium to teach kids the alphabet in kindergarten, based on markers of progress towards quicker and easier letter recognition.","PeriodicalId":32470,"journal":{"name":"AlIshlah Jurnal Pendidikan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47695753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
