Commonly, friendship is based on homophily. However, similarity often less seen in a diverse context, specifically urban area. Numerous interactions between migrants and nonmigrants will create a distinctive pattern with non-diverse area. The aim of this study is to frame friendship as perceived by urban youth in Yogyakarta with following questions: 1) what makes urban youth befriend each other, and 2) what kind of friendship they have. Indigenous qualitative study is used as a methodological approach. Author interviewed eight urban youth as participants. The findings suggest that urban youth in Yogyakarta befriend each other based on similarity in communication style, the relationship elicit supportive climate, proximity, and needs fulfillment. These reasons changing overtime, proofed by the consideration on cost-benefit relationship. Urban youth in Yogyakarta have several types of friends, categorized by intimacy. Intimate friendships consist of ‘sharing’ friend and close friend, while acquaintances are friends, functional friend, friends bound by space, and demographic friends. Selain karena kebutuhan akademik yang berbeda, homeschooling dapat memenuhi kebutuhan akademik dan karakteristik anak gifted yang khas. Di sisi lain, homeschooling memiliki dampak negatif pada anak gifted , yaitu kurang memfasilitasi anak untuk bersosialisasi dengan teman-temannya. Kemampuan sosial anak menjadi terbatas. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan peran dari orang terdekat anak gifted seperti orangtua, guru, dan sekolah dalam memfasilitasi dan membantu memenuhi kebutuhan akademik anak gifted . Pencarian artikel penelitian dilakukan di 4 situs pencarian artikel penelitian internasional, yaitu ScienceDirect, SAGE, ProQuest, dan ERIC dengan tahun terbit 2011-2020. Data awal terkumpul 40 jurnal artikel dan disaring melalui kriteria inclusion dan exclusion hingga didapatkan 8 jurnal yang terdiri dari 4 jurnal kuantitatif dan 4 jurnal kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil systematic literature review , diketahui bahwa homeschooling masih relevan untuk menjadi pilihan dengan memperhatikan beberapa peran orangtua terhadap anak gifted sebagai motivator, resource providers , advisers , monitors , counselors , dan support . Karena itu, dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi positif sebagai landasan menganalisa flourishing mantan pecandu alkohol di Desa Sumlili. Metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data berupa observasi non partisipan dan wawancara semi terstruktur dilakukan pada 4 orang subjek dewasa yang telah berhenti mengonsumsi alkohol sejak 2 tahun, 4 tahun, 5 tahun, dan 9 tahun. Teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ke-empat subjek telah mengalami flourishing atau menjadi flourisher dengan menunjukkan kelima aspek PERMA flourishing dalam hidup mereka. Aspek yang pertama adalah keempat subjek telah mampu menunjukkan emosi yang positif seperti kebahagiaan, kedamaian, rasa bersyukur, dan kesabaran. Mereka juga lebih melekat dengan pekerjaannya hingga tidak ingin menunda pekerjaan. Hubungan mereka juga telah lebih baik dengan keluarga dan orang sekitar terbukti dengan kurangnya perilaku agresif (KDRT), terlibat dalam kerja bakti dan tidak lagi membuat kekacauan atau keributan. Mereka juga memaknai hidup dengan fokus melakukan hal yang lebih positif seperti mempererat hubungan pribadi dengan Tuhan dan juga lingkungan sekitar. Adapun pencapaian yang membanggakan dalam hidup mereka yaitu memutuskan untuk berhenti menjadi pecandu alkohol. Dari keputusan tersebut, menghasilkan berbagai prestasi, hasil positif lainnya, dan menguatkan flourishing dalam diri. {"title":"Strength-Based Parenting as a Predictor of Adolescent Self-Esteem","authors":"A. Participants were 215 adolescents who were studied at a high school in Surabaya. Data were collected using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale to measure self-esteem and the Strength-Based Parenting scale (Strength Knowledge Scale and Strength Use Scale) to measure strength-based parenting. Based on correlation analysis, significant positive relationships were found between strength knowledge and self-esteem, and between strength use and self-esteem. The result of multiple regression analysis revealed that strength knowledge and strength use predicted adolescent self-esteem, but only strength knowledge made a significant unique contribution to adolescent self-esteem. Therefore, this article aims to describe parental involvement in the intervention that can be done to optimize the development of special needs children. The parents' involvement that was analyzed in this article based on two models of early childhood education that involve parents in the educational process, such as the Portage model and Jowonio School. Interventions carried for special needs children have been carried out since they were in their early childhood period so that it is quite relevant to use the early education model as an example of parental involvement in their children's interventions. The advantage of using the Portage model because this model uses a home-based approach so that children with special needs get a high intensity of intervention. The strength of Jowonio School is an individual program in intervening children with special needs. However, special time is still needed for counseling the parents of children with special needs in recognizing and controlling the emotions felt by caring for children with special needs. Dalam penelitian ini sampel berjumlah 58 pegawai Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Malang. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis regresi linear berganda. Dalam penelitian ini diperoleh hasil ada pengaruh komitmen afektif, berkelanjutan, dan normatif terhadap OCB sebesar 46%. Metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa dalam kelas mata kuliah psikologi belajar tahun 2018, berjumlah 72 mahasiswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan tes prestasi. Data diambil setelah subjek diberi perlakuan metode pembelajaran PBL. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif-eksplanatif. Hasil tes prestasi menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar mengalami peningkatan. Hasil analisis deskriptif-eksplanasi menunjukkan bahwa pada awalnya mahasiswa masih belum mampu untuk merepresentasikan masalah, belum dapat menggunakan teori yang tepat untuk menganalisis kasus, dan belum dapat menyelesaikan persoalan yang diberikan. Setelah adanya tambahan proses latihan pembelajaran kognitif tingkat tinggi ( Higher Order Thingking ), mahasiswa menjadi lancar dalam melaksanakan proses PBL. Penelitian ini memaparkan bahwa dalam PBL perlu adanya perencanaan yang matang, yaitu disesuaikan dengan karakteristik dan pengalaman awal mahasiswa mengenai student active learning agar hasil lebih optimal. Modernisasi berbasis teknologi dan digital dapat menyebabkan perubahan tugas kerja beserta standar evaluasi kerja. Terlebih jika tugas-tugas kerja, metode kerja, maupun standar evaluasi kerja menjadi tidak jelas. Ketidakjelasan ini disebut juga sebagai job ambiguity. Berdasarkan penelitian, pengaruh job ambiguity terhadap proactive behavior menunjukkan hasil bervariasi. Menurut Grant & Rothbard (2013), hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya peran moderator dalam hubungan tersebut. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh job ambiguity terhadap proactive behavior pada pekerja klerikal PT. X Cabang Surabaya dengan future work self sebagai variabel moderator. Pemilihan pekerja klerikal sebagai subjek disebabkan karena peran jabatan ini telah tergantikan akibat elektronisasi sejak tahun 2017 namun masih banyak pekerja klerikal yang memilih tetap pada jabatan ini. Future work self dipilih sebagai variabel moderator karena future work self merupakan kekuatan motivasi yang ada di balik perilaku proaktif yang ditampilkan oleh seseorang. \u0000Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa job ambiguity memberikan pengaruh negatif yang signifikan pada proactive behavior. Pada pengujian peran moderator diketahui bahwa interaksi antara variabel job ambiguity sebagai variabel independen dengan variabel future work self sebagai variabel moderator dapat meningkatkan pengaruh variabel job ambiguity terhadap variabel proactive behavior sebagai variabel dependen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) hubungan stres kerja dengan burnout pada ABK KRI “X” TNI-AL Surabaya (2) hubungan kepribadian dengan burnout pada ABK KRI “X” TNI-AL Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala stres kerja yang terdiri dari 24 aitem, skala kepribadian yang terdiri dari 30 aitem, dan skala burnout yang terdiri dari 20 aitem. Jumlah subjek pada penelitian ini 72 orang dan merupakan ABK di KRI “X” TNI-AL Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis pertama diterima. Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara stres kerja dengan burnout sebesar 0,935. Pengujian hipotesis kedua dilakukan dengan menguji satu persatu dari kelima dimensi kepribadian big five dengan burnout . The teacher is a professional educator with the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, and evaluating students in elementary and middle schools. Life satisfaction refers to an individual’s overall judgment or global evaluation about his or her life condition. This study is a quantitative descriptive survey study that aims to analyze and describe the relationship between demographic factors with school teachers’ life satisfaction at Palopo and Toraja Region in South Sulawesi. This research using SWLS (Satisfaction with Life Scale) with 111 respondents who came from several schools in Palopo and Toraja region. Result of this research found that most of the teachers (67,6%) were satisfied with their lives, and the rest (32,4 %) are not satisfied with their lives. Based on the cross-tabulation analysis and non-parametric correlation, its proven that several demographic factors, namely gender, employment status, ethnic groups, length of services, income perception, and salary comparison perception have a significant correlation with teachers’ life satisfaction. In particular, with ordinal regression analysis, we found that educational status, income perception, and salary comparison perception has influence teachers' life satisfaction. Government and Private Educational Foundation should do effort to increase teacher’s income and have a career development plan for teachers to maintain their subjective wellbeing level.
