Instead, a regenerative approach based on the literature’s methods for regeneration was provided. The root canal was gently debrided of necrotic tissue with a large diameter file, irrigated with 5,25% NaOCl and then medicated with 2% chlorhexidine. After 21 days, the tooth was asymptomatic. The canal was accessed and irrigated with saline solution and a tissue scaffold was created with PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) prepared using centrifugation. The final restoration was completed immediately with MM-MTA and a composite resin. The tooth was controlled every three months over a period of 2 years and has remained symptom free. Radiographic examination shows healing of the apical radiolucency suggesting that appropriate biologic responses can occur with this type of treatment of the necrotic immature permanent tooth. Resume Ce rapport de cas decrit le traitement d›une incisive centrale permanente immature atteinte de necrose pulpaire compliquee d’une parodontite apicale symptomatique non traitee par les techniques classiques  d’apexification. Une approche regeneratrice basee sur les methodes de regeneration decrites dans la litterature a ete appliquee. Le canal radiculaire a ete debride du tissu necrotique avec une lime de grand diametre, irrigue avec 5,25% de NaOCl et ensuite rempli d’un produit antiseptique a base de chlorhexidine 2%. Vingt et un jours plus tard la dent etait completement asymptomatique. L’acces au canal a donc ete effectue ainsi qu’une irrigation avec une solution saline et la pose d’une matrice tissulaire de et la creation d’une matrice tissulaire de FRP (fibrine riche en plaquettes) preparee par centrifugation. La restauration finale a ete completee immediatement avec MM-MTA et une resine composite. La dent a ete controlee tous les trois mois sur une periode de 2 ans et est restee asymptomatique. L’examen radiographique a montre la guerison de la radioclarte apicale suggerant que des reponses biologiques appropriees pouvaient se produire avec ce type de traitement au niveau d’une dent permanente immature necrosee.","PeriodicalId":322244,"journal":{"name":"International Arab Journal of Dentistry","volume":"196 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124356289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Under certain conditions, they differentiate into cells with specialized functions providing an excellent tool for cell therapy especially in case of degenerative pathologies. There are two kinds o f stem cells: Embryonic and adult. The embryonic stem cells, also called pluripotent, are capable of differentiating into all cell types of the body whereas the adult stem cells are less versatile and more difficult to identify, to isolate and to purify. Compared to the embryonic stem cells derived from placenta or umbilical cord, adult stem cells are considered to be the only hope for those people who haven’t done cryopreservation or banking. Throughout this paper, an overview of the location of stem cells in the oral cavity will be presented emphasizing especially on their therapeutic potentials. Abdullah","doi":"10.12816/0038360","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12816/0038360","url":null,"abstract":"The aim of the study was to study the effectiveness of using cli- nical microscope and ultrasonics with rotary Universal Protaper files in removing gutta-percha and sealer from root canals. Twenty single straight-rooted, extracted human mandibular premolars were prepared, filled with gutta-percha and sealer (Zinc oxide with eugenol). Specimens were then divided into two groups. Root filling material was removed using rotary Universal Protaper system with eucalyptol in group 1 (n=10); Rotary Universal Protaper system with eucalyptol followed by using microscope with ultrasonic tip were applied in the group 2 (n=10). After retreatment, the efficacy of each technique was exami- ned at 8× magnification of a stereomicroscope then the images were analyzed using AutoCAD 2010 according to Hulsmann and Stotz scale. Data were statistically analyzed using Mann–Whitney U-test. There was a significant difference when using clinical micros- cope and ultrasonics (p<0.01), when considering the root canal in its entirety. When the root canal was divided to three thirds, there was a significant difference between groups 1 and 2 in the middle and the apical thirds (p<0.01). However, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the cervical third. The use of the dental operating microscope and ultrasonic tips to remove the filling material from root canal walls rendered better results even though remnants of filling material were observed on the canal walls in all the examined teeth in both groups. The objective of this study is to compare the resistance to shear forces of two pink composite materials (Gradia® gum shades) and (SR Nexco®) bonded to two different substrates: one being zirco- nia and the other a substrate metal complex represented by Cr-Co. Forty square samples were used for this study, twenty samples of Cr-Co and twenty samples of zirconia. Each of the 2 groups of samples was randomly subdivided into 2 subgroups (Group I and GC group), each consisting of 10 samples. Each sub-group received two types of gingival colored composite: Gradia® gum shades and SR Nexco®. A universal test machine (YL-01), with a load of 10kN, a speed of 1 mm / min and a flat insert, was used to apply shear forces to the substrate-composite resin interface. The shear forces at the breaking point were recorded in Newtons and then calculated in MPa. For SR Nexco®, mean shear strength was significantly higher when the base was metal (7,142 ± 2.54) compared to the Zirconia base (5.09 ± 1.44) (p = 0.022). For Gradia® gum shades, no significant difference between the two bases was observed (p = 0.348).
