The study is based on 19th-century archival materials that have been introduced into scientific circulation only recently. It reveals the unique features of the formation of the anthroponymy characteristic of a Bulgarian community outside Bulgaria’s ethnic territory. Blagoeva","doi":"10.47810/bl.69.22.02.02","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.47810/bl.69.22.02.02","url":null,"abstract":"The article addresses the interaction between terminological lexis and phraseology in contemporary Bulgarian as a manifestation of the mutual enrichment of the languages for special purposes, on the one hand, and everyday language, on the other. The authors establish that while the phraseologisation of terminological units and the formation of phraseological units from terminological items is an active process in the con-temporary language, the enrichment of terminological systems by terminologising phraseological units has a very limited role. The most active sources for enriching the phraseological system of the language are the terminological fields of sports, military affairs, technology and medicine, among others. The author provides a consistent analysis of the codification practice with respect to the nominal system: nouns, adjectives, numerals, pronouns. She discusses the literary formation established in the 1930s and 1940s and studies its status as an autonomous, supra-dialectal system with its own development trends and functional superiority over the dialects. This question has a powerful theoretical charge and may give impetus to further opinions and research. Its emergence dates back to the National Revival period. The conclusions are drawn on the basis of the in-depth study of a large number of textbooks in various subjects published during the Revival. Terminological variability is a rather interesting and complicated phenomenon characterised by versatile and multifaceted manifestations that may be studied from a variety of perspectives. The question of the classification of terminological variability is becoming increasingly relevant in contemporary terminology. This is due to the fact that continuous advances in various scientific fields, the discovery of new realia and the acquisition of new knowledge lead to the emergence of new terminological units that reflect the acquired knowledge at the linguistic level. Each new term denoting a new concept seeks, colloquially speaking, to “settle” itself in a pre-existing classification. The article dis-cusses several classifications defined on the basis of different approaches and criteria.
