The professionalization of teaching a foreign language at the universities is a global trend. ESP (English for Specific Purposes) has become increasingly important as there has been an increase in vocational training and learning throughout the world. The article reveals the key theoretical and practical aspects of the system of modular learning in the South Ural State University, the Higher School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, as a new design for the teaching and learning cooperation. The principle of modular organization of educational material involves the organization of training in the form of professionally-oriented modules. The paper defines the term “module”, describes the criteria for selecting educational material, outlines the structure of a module and a set of exercises. The aim of our research was to study the satisfaction level of students with the quality of education and to analyze the implementation process of the modular learning. The following tasks were solved: the experience of using modular learning in educational process was analyzed, the level of students’ satisfaction with the quality of education system was evaluated. Theoretical (analysis of modern scientific and methodological literature) and empirical (questionnaire, mathematical processing of the obtained data) methods are applied in the study. The research shows that the implementation of modular learning had a positive impact on students' outcomes and the level of students` satisfaction with the education process increased.","PeriodicalId":319151,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the South Ural State University series \"Education. The method of cluster analysis of k-means was chosen as a diagnostic tool. The participants were the students of 19 academic groups of full-time bachelor's degree program. For the experiment, the results of current control group (with an accuracy of 0.5 points) were collected from 298 first-year students that were asked to predict (on a 100-point scale) their score for the course being studied. The developed technology allows predicting learning grades with satisfactory accuracy equal to 86.24%. Eight hypotheses were tested; the results can be divided into three clusters of students: those who received a positive score; those who achieved a satisfactory result; students who are required to pass the exam to obtain a “satisfactory” grade. The study contributes to the development of computer pedagogy. It can be useful for teachers (for recommending to visit consultations to students who cannot achieve good results on their own, for a more efficient distribution of exam session’s time). The results can be useful for students (as a motivation to put more efforts into studying some disciplines), and for tutors and deputy deans for academic affairs (to search for “problem” students and decrease possible academic failures early).","PeriodicalId":319151,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the South Ural State University series \"Education. Kozlova","doi":"10.14529/ped210303","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14529/ped210303","url":null,"abstract":"Based on theoretical and experimental research on the problems of education reform in the context of humanitarization of education, the authors elaborate and present a model of educational technology used to reform the activities in humanitarization of educational process, to create a flexible effective system at secondary school with the focus on teaching natural science disciplines. The theoretical study shows that humanization and humanitarization of education as a holistic system does not have a mechanism to implement social and pedagogical technologies and does not have a driver to realize this educational concept. This fact led to the development of educational technology aimed to form the basics of social worldview. The authors offer possible solutions for the problem by uncovering the pedagogic potential of natural sciences’ disciplines in forming the basic social determinants, namely, social competence and social intelligence of the students of secondary school. The main methods used are: the method of philosophical and subject expansion of natural sciences’ disciplines as a resource to form and develop social intelligence in the context of humanitarization of natural sciences, and statistical analysis to process the quantitative results of the pedagogical experiment. The development of a model of the author's technology is based on ecological approach to the research and design of educational environments. The methods of organizing educational technology that form the foundations of social worldview and paradigm of social thinking in modern conditions of scientific and technical progress are presented. The experimental data show that the organization of educational process of the secondary school students (7–11 forms) according to the model of social and pedagogical technology provides the increase of the level of quality of educational activity that satisfies the educational demand and meets the requirements of Federal Educational Standards of Russian Federation are present in the work. The authors considered the achievements of natural sciences from the point of view of the search for a public ideal. They made recommendations on the application of new scientific approaches, on the introduction of new interpretations, concepts of physical and natural-scientific outlooks. The developed educational technology contributes to the change of thinking paradigm, addressing the problem of authentic understanding of the world. This socio-pedagogical technology contributes to the creation of interdisciplinary interaction and interpenetration of the scientific and humanitarian understanding of the world within the framework of the modern concept of natural sciences.","PeriodicalId":319151,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the South Ural State University series \"Education. Profes sional resilience of a teacher allows minimizing these negative effects, successfully coping with them while remaining in optimal mental and physiological state, performing long-term profes sional activity. Despite numerous theoretical and empirical studies, this problem is still relevant and requires further research. The purpose of this article is to analyze the foreign and Russian scientific literature on the prob lem and to identify the level of formation of emotional resilience of students of pedagogical uni versities. The theoretical analysis of the literature allowed to draw the following conclusions: 1) peda gogical activity every year is more and more emotionally intense and is characterized by the pre sence of a large number of stress factors, so the development of professional resilience of tea chers is the most important task for educational organizations; 2) in foreign literature, the concept of “professional resilience” practically does not occur. Instead similar terms “emotional stability”, “emotional intelligence”, “self-efficacy of the teacher” are used, which in our opinion can be considered as components of professional resilience of teachers. Evaluation of the motivational component of emotional resilience was carried out using the technique of “Motivation to avoid failures” T. Ehlers, cognitive component through the tech nique of V.I. Morosanova “Style of self-regulation of behavior”, the emotional component using The technique of C.D. Spielberg “Diagnosis of self-assessment of anxiety”, adapted Y.L. Khanin. Empirical research enables us to draw the following conclusions: 1) about a quarter of stu dents have a high level of motivation for protection: they are afraid to start something new, they are afraid of public speaking and exams, which undoubtedly has a negative impact on their emo tional resilience; 2) boys have a higher level of self-regulation, they are more likely to be realistic and detailed plans, while half of the respondents have a low level of self-regulation; 3) a large part of students (about 40%) has a high level of personal anxiety, they perceive most situations as threatening, and react to them with a state of anxiety, which is undoubtedly a negative factor for the formation of their emotional resilience. Summarizing the above, we note that the emotional resilience of teachers is an important component of their professional resilience, and work on its development is a promising task for pedagogical universities.","PeriodicalId":319151,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the South Ural State University series \"Education. This means that teaching methods specific to teaching physics had been formed. These methods were reflected on and documented not only in the works on the methods of teaching physics, but also in the educational literature directly addressed to the student and teacher: textbooks, books of solved problems, manuals on laboratory works and demonstration experiments. One of the signs of a certain completeness of the pro-cess of formation of the methods of teaching physics as a science is the reference of the leading physicists-methodists to the history of the formation of the methods of teaching physics. The object of their research were textbooks published in Russia in the XVIII–XIX centuries. The scientific tradition of studying the history of the method of teaching physics was sup-ported in Soviet times. In the twentieth century, the theory of a textbook was created, its didactic functions were clarified, the didactic apparatus was determined, and the textbooks themselves were improved accordingly. The idea of a methodical system of education was formed in didactics, and a textbook itself could be considered as a model of such a system. In the 21st century, the theory o f a textbook undergoes noticeable changes and the problem of continuity arises, the need to ana-lyze both the changing didactic functions of a textbook and the development of a textbook’s apparatus as a whole. The paper is an to substantiate the possibility of considering the history of the formation of a physics textbook as a model for studying the development of teaching methods. At the specific examples were used to consider the change of the content of physics textbooks, their structure and a comparative analysis of foreign scientists was made. The content of the article can be used as the base of the course “The History of the Methods of Teaching Physics”.","PeriodicalId":319151,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the South Ural State University series \"Education. The significance of its solution aims at finding the best ways to organize the educational process at the university. The specifics of communication between the representatives of the scientific community is the existence of direct and indirect (virtual) ways of interaction. Accordingly, when organizing the process of university students’ training in cross-cultural scientific communication, it is necessary to build the process both with direct and indirect interaction. The paper describesthe algorithm of university students’ training in cross-cultural scientific communication via virtual interaction, which includes the stages (preparatory, acquisition and expertize), the content of the online course (“Academic English for Masters”) created in the information-educational system of the university, and e-learning tools (simulator tools, control tools, information and reference tools, demonstration tools) used for this type of training. The principle of implementing the preparation of university students for crosscultural scientific communication via virtual interaction is the adaptability of building the educational process in the e-learning system, which consists in adaptive presentation of the material, adaptive navigation, and adaptive testing. The solution of this problem has been carried out using theoretical and empirical methods: documentation analysis, literature analysis, ascertaining experiment, comparison, synthesis, generalization, induction, deduction.","PeriodicalId":319151,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the South Ural State University series \"Education.
