The study also aims to examine the significance of the Qur'an in shaping Islamic educational values and to trace the evolution of these values over time. \u0000Design/methodology/approach – The historical research method was employed in this study to investigate the development of Islamic education values within the context of the Qur'anic revelation and compilation. Data collection involved various sources, including written materials such as Qur'anic manuscripts, history books, and literature on Islamic education, as well as oral sources such as interviews with experts on history and Islamic education. \u0000Findings – The research findings suggest that the Qur'an has been the primary source of Islamic educational values and has had a significant impact on the development of Islamic education. The Qur'an has influenced the fundamental principles and values of Islamic education, including the pursuit of knowledge, moral values, and social justice. The study also shows that the evolution of Islamic education values has been influenced by historical events and changes in Islamic societies, but the basic principles have remained consistent over time. \u0000Research implications/limitations – The limitations of the research are that it does not examine the long-term effects of internalizing Islamic moderation values on children's overall development and well-being and does not provide insights into the potential consequences or benefits of this process. This study is essential as part of efforts to dynamize the development of Pondok Pesantren in Indonesia. \u0000Design/methods/approach – Descriptive qualitative study is the method used in this research. The informants in this study are the leaders of Islamic boarding schools across Java. The data collection process uses in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The data analysis process is based on Milles Huberman’s data analysis. \u0000Findings – The typology formed from the results of observations is that there are three Pesantren, namely the first Pesantren, which remains restraining learning and preserves the classical Islamic inheritance with all educational instruments. Second, Pondok Pesantren accommodates the two mainstreams of thought, the social modernity and the social-humanity tradition, by founding official/formal schools or education and combining two intellectual traditions between Islamic tradition and Western tradition. Third, Pondok Pesantren developed the learning towards religious books or Kitab Kuning beyond the initial basis of the madhab era (The era of the school of scientific thought about Muslim laws). \u0000Research implications/limitations – this research has implications for developing the broader characteristics of Islamic boarding schools. In addition, a complete understanding of the Islamic Boarding School was obtained. This study has limitations in the aspects observed. The research data were obtained through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document review. \u0000Design/methods/approach – All data obtained were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s paradigm combined with Von Eckarberg’s hermeneutic phenomenological analysis model. \u0000Findings – The findings and discussion of this research conclude as follows; (1)The enlightenment movement in the field of religious education for survivors in Ahu Village is an integral part of the disaster mitigation program by Muhammadiyah. MDMC volunteers implemented the program for early childhood, kindergarten, and primary education, as well as for groups of survivors from among adults. The religious education program is non-formal, and its implementation uses a contextual learning approach. (2) The religious education program for the survivors is significant, not only because of the process of transferring knowledge but also the process of mental and spiritual enlightenment for the survivors. This process enables the survivors to be more assertive and patient and can respond positively to the reality of the disaster that befell them. The data was gathered from the TBI Degree Program at UIN Raden Mas Said (RMS) Surakarta. \u0000Design/methods/approach – This study employs a qualitative explanatory method. Documents, informants, and events serve as data sources. Data collection methods included content/document analysis, in-depth interviews, and observation. The data analysis technique employs an interactive model. The triangulation technique is used in the data validity technique. \u0000Findings – The results show that the MBKM Degree Program curriculum design at UIN RMS Surakarta has incorporated 21st-century skills. Several courses will require digital skills, such as Digital Literacy, Monetization of Digital Products, and Development of Indonesian Language Learning Media starting in 2019. TBI’s Degree Program, Starting in 2019 in support of MBKM, has also implemented collaboration with various partners, including the Industrial World Business World (DUDI). \u0000Research implications/limitations – This research contributes to understanding the importance of implementing MBKM in the TBI Degree Program at PTKI, with the data source being the TBI Degree Program Faculty of Adab and Language at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. The study is limited to the types of documents, articles, proceedings, reviews, and book chapters. This study uses the Scopus database, and the data was collected on July 1, 2021. The targeted data was retrieved by applying the search keywords: “Islamic Education” OR “Madrasah” OR “Islamic School.” \u0000Findings – The results of this study reveal that there has been an increase in the study of Islamic Education in Scopus-indexed journals over the last five years, with most of them written by Indonesian scientists. However, most articles published in the two journals are not specific to the study of Islamic education or religious studies. \u0000Research implications/limitations – This study is limited to Islamic education research in the Scopus database. This study only looks at bibliometric data analysis. Further studies based on the systematic literature review method can investigate the findings. Islamic education researchers can use the results of this study to develop future research topics. \u0000Practical implications – This study sheds light on the evolution of Islamic education research. Data were collected using interview observations and documentation and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. \u0000Findings – This study’s findings show that the spirit and practice of education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Aliyah Al-Islam align with prophetic values by prioritizing transcendent spirituality with critical humanist principles framed in the form of institutional integration and content. \u0000Research implications/limitations – This study strengthens and complements previous research findings on integrating Islamic scholarship in Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. This study investigates the phenomenology of three Yogyakarta school institutions. \u0000Design/methods/approach – This is a qualitative study with a phenomenological pedagogical approach. This study focuses on three Islamic educational institutions in the Special Region of Yogyakarta: Madrasah Aliyah Unggulan (MAU) Al-Imdad Bantul Yogyakarta, Madrasah Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah (M3) Yogyakarta, and SMAIT Abu Bakar Yogyakarta. Purposive sampling and snowball techniques were used to select the informants. \u0000Findings – This study found that Al-Imdad Superior Madrasah Aliyah was an educational advancement from Nadlotul Ulama. The educational ideology of the Al-Imdad Superior Aliyah Madrasah is conservative-religious. Madrasah Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah is a Muhammadiyah cadre school with a fundamental conservatism ideology. SMAIT Abu Bakar has a fundamentalist-conservative ideology and a formalistic-revivalist religious attitude. \u0000Research implications/limitations – This study only looks at the ideological perspectives of Islamic educational institutions. The results of this study can be used to make recommendations to policymakers, particularly the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, in determining the direction of future development of Islamic educational institutions. However, this study only looks at the aspect of thinking. Further research can concentrate on the managerial aspects of each Islamic educational institution. \u0000Practical implications – The results of this study shed light on the various characteristics of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. In theory, this research has implications for developing an Islamic thought map regarding existing Islamic educational institutions. However, globalization and modernization inevitably bring new directions for the next Rohis movement and is evident in its various activism. This study aims to determine the preferences of Rohis activism in schools and madrasas that have experienced a shift from Islamism “right” towards popular culture. \u0000Design/methods/approach – This research method is a qualitative case study. The subjects of this research are Rohis activists in MAN 1 Yogyakarta and SMAN 5 Yogyakarta. This study collects data through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, in professional terminology, it means a job that requires higher education for the perpetrators, which emphasizes mental work, namely the existence of theoretical knowledge requirements as an instrument for doing practical work, not manual work. So a profession must have three main pillars, namely knowledge, expertise, and academic preparation. This article is motivated by the author's concern for the potential of the younger generation that has not developed significantly. The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which the concept of the SDL model in empowering the potential of students in PAI learning. The type of research used is library research. Meanwhile, the data collection techniques used were documentation in the form ofbooks, journal articles, internet, magazines, newspapers, and so on. In this study, it was found that the concept of the SDL model can empower the potential of students in PAI learning, because the SDL model causes students to have the initiative to learn independently and according to their learning style. The use of the SDL model is certainly inseparable from the role of parents and teachers.
