Sound, as the smallest contrastive linguistic unit has a huge influence on bringing change of meaning. The preference of certain phoneme on a word may produce certain meaning inside it. Therefore, a singel word with different phonemes produces different meaning. This research based on library research, a research proceed by gathering some facts from various books, articles, and other literatures related to the subject. This research combines semantical approach and phonological approach with analytic description method. From this research, it is found that Arabic words use certain phoneme to express certain meaning; phoneme with heavy articulation oftenly uses to express heavy activity, and phonems with light articulation oftenly uses to express light acivity.","PeriodicalId":31824,"journal":{"name":"Arabi Journal of Arabic Studies","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89168366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The epistemology of Arabic language curriculum development in Thailand focus on the use of Arabic as a media for both oral and written communication. This curriculum development aims to understand Qur'an, Hadith, and many other religion books written in Arabic. The curriculum development in this school was appropriate with the vision and mission, to build the the good character through Arabic habituation in the school environment. The operational standard for implementing the Arabic curriculum development was determined by the school itself, without any government intervention. For example, memorizing Arabic mufradat. There were some obstacles such as the students who were not interested in memorizing mufradat and less of discipline to go to school. Arabic still does not become an important thing for students as well as its probelmatics that pay little attention to the different aspects of student competence.","PeriodicalId":31824,"journal":{"name":"Arabi Journal of Arabic Studies","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82375832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With regard to the material taught in higher education, the urgency of constructivism theory has not yet fulfilled in the success of learning. As a result, the theory becomes a necessity for the development of teaching material to strengthen their interest in developing language competencies. This study intended to develop Arabic teaching materials for students in Islamic Religious Colleges so that they do not depend on books sourced from Arab countries that have different cultures than local cultures. Based on the results of the needs analysis, the textbook product was produced, which is named al-Arabia li al-Hayah along with inputs from experts. The results of this book trial showed that this book was effective to meet the needs of students in improving Arabic competence through mastery of vocabulary in their environment.","PeriodicalId":31824,"journal":{"name":"Arabi Journal of Arabic Studies","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84919277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research is the first and second stage of the four stages of the 'Four Door' (4D) research model. The 4D research model has four stages: (1) Defining, (2) Design, (3) Developing, and (3) Disseminating. The \"Define\" stage includes analysis of student needs. Questionnaire was used as an instrument in analyzing these needs. The needs analysis questionnaire was distributed to students to identify their needs and targets for learning Arabic. Respondents consisted of Madrasah Aliyah students in the 2018-2019 academic year totaling 612 students. Data from the needs analysis questionnaire were analyzed using frequency distributions and percentages and the results were then used as a basis for designing and developing e-learning learning models that matched their learning needs and targets. In the 'design' stage, the flipped classroom learning model was used and elaborated with learning theories, namely the constructive learning environment theory (Constructivist Learning Environment-CLEs), Learning Management System (LMS), and Flipped classroom.","PeriodicalId":31824,"journal":{"name":"Arabi Journal of Arabic Studies","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81809731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is based on the letters that are added or deleted, the words that separates or connects, the Humazat “الهمزات” that are distinct, or the ones that are on one of the three soft letters. The spelling rules subject has received attention from various linguistic communities and specialized scientific commissions in the Arabic language. There have been numerous and various studies on spelling errors among students at different levels of study in a number of Arab countries. Students of educational institutions in Morocco are no exception to this phenomenon of spelling errors. The aim of our research is to shed the light on the types of spelling mistakes made in the Arabic language, how they are made and why. We used a survey that we analyzed using a statistical program to find out the cause of these mistakes, their intersecting and their frequency. Also, we suggest the establishment of a Learning Management System (LMS) based on the e-learning platform Moodle, to remedy to the problems of misspelling.","PeriodicalId":31824,"journal":{"name":"Arabi Journal of Arabic Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90194995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Writing errors of Arabic, in particular, are considered fundamental since they can act as significant data to determine the level of language proficiency, identify possible difficulties in student’s writing, and prepare further teaching aids and materials to meet students’ needs and problems. The objective of the current study, therefore, aimed to reveal the common types of errors and their frequencies committed by the students at University of Darussalam Gontor. The subjects of this research were fifteen students that were in the second year of their studies. The instrument utilised tests to elicit the primary data. The findings showed that the most committed error was idafa construction, followed by tenses and agreement. These errors were due to several causes, namely interference of L1, intralingual, overgeneralisation, and ignorance of rule restrictions. To cope with such errors, it is suggested that global errors and individual’s concerns must be taken into primary consideration by language teachers.","PeriodicalId":31824,"journal":{"name":"Arabi Journal of Arabic Studies","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84981916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although learning Arabic in Indonesia has been going on for centuries, learning listening skills and speaking Arabic still lacks adequate attention and focus. This happens because there is no proper language learning media available. Teachers rarely use and even never use media in learning Arabic, especially speaking skills. Based on the above problems, a solution is needed in the form of a variety of learning media that can be used by teachers and students in speaking learning, namely MVR Abbas (Multimedia Virtual Reality Arabic Speaking Game), an Arabic Speaking Game which not only teaches and trains related speaking skills only, but also has the contents of the material based on intercultural education considering learning languages will not be separated from learning the culture of the language.","PeriodicalId":31824,"journal":{"name":"Arabi Journal of Arabic Studies","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82190723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the context of corpus linguistics, the manuscript is a proof of the existence and dynamics of real Arabic usage by Indonesian speakers. This paper describes several classifications of manuscripts written in Arabic and their urgency as the material of Arabic corpus data in Indonesia in the context of the development of multidisciplinary Arabic research. Furthermore, the manuscript will be mapped based on seven types of Arabic corpus in Indonesia. Based on the mapping, it is projected that the majority of Arabic manuscripts in the archipelago are categorized as a corpus of scientific works, the corpus of Islamic studies, and corpus of literary works. For this purpose, it is necessary to process those manuscripts into digital text material to be analyzed with corpus processing applications through three stages: image scanning, image conversion into text, and manual text verification.","PeriodicalId":31824,"journal":{"name":"Arabi Journal of Arabic Studies","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86731160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
