{"title":"Moderate Muslims’ Views on Multicultural Education, Freedom of Expression, and Social Media Hate Speech: An Empirical Study in West Java Indonesia","authors":"H. The truth and validity of this presumption need to be proven empirically. Indeed, in this province, there are a number of hardline Islamic organizations with the members spread in almost all corners of West Java. The Wahid Foundation survey from 2010 to 2017 always put this province with the highest incidence of religious-based violence. Therefore, the study on the views of moderate Muslim leaders on freedom of expression, hate speech on social media, and the importance of multicultural education are deemed to be very necessary. The qualitative research data on 73 moderate Muslim figures in West Java was collected by direct interviews, via email, social media, telephone calls, and from their opinions in various media. The results showed that moderate Muslim leaders in West Java uphold and respect freedom of expression as one of the basic human rights, but they refuse if this right is misused to spread hate speech. They also agree with the importance of rules and law enforcement to overcome the problem of spreading hate speech, but according to them, the legal aspect is not the only approach. This analysis was developed as an effort to further explore the development of environmental awareness in Islamic education. The development of environmental awareness can be implemented through religious values with an environmental perspective in Islamic educational institutions. This study uses library research methods. The model is a plan, representation or description that describes an object, system or concept that is often in the form of simplification or idealization. Learning can be said as a result of memory, cognition, and metacognition that affects understanding. This happens when someone is learning, and this condition also often occurs in everyday life, because learning is a natural process for everyone. In general, the learning model is a method or systematic presentation technique used by the teacher in organizing the experience of the learning process in order to achieve the objectives of a learning. The study of farâ’idh includes interactive learning, card sort strategies, CTL (contextual teaching and learning), Al-Farâidh Android-based and lecture methods, questions and answers, memorization, assignments, discussions, problem solving, demonstrations, and constructivism methods. The science of farâ’idh or also called the science of mawaris is the science of the distribution of inheritance after a person dies or dies. This science regulates the problem of the distribution of inheritance for heirs in accordance with the provisions that have been written in the Qur'an. Materi pembelajaran yang disajikan dalam buku tersebut belum mampu menggambarkan kondisi nyata di lingkungan sekitar khususnya daerah Kudus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepraktisan modul ethno-edutainment pada siswa sekolah dasar berbasis islam di Kudus. Modul ethno-edutainment dikembangkan dengan model Borg and Gall yang dimodifikasi.Tahap pengembangan modul ethno-edutainment meliputi tahap studi pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan dan validasi produk, dan tahap uji coba produk. Pada tahap uji coba produk dilakukan kegiatan uji coba skala terbatas, dan uji coba skala luas. Uji kepraktisan dilakukan pada tahap uji skala luas dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV di SD IT Umar Bin Khattab. Kepraktisan modul ethno-edutainment dinilai dengan menggunakan angket respon siswa dan wawancara terhadap guru. Hasil respon siswa terhadap modul ethno-edutainment menunjukkan adalah 87,5% artinya siswa memberikan respon positif. Guru juga memberikan respon positif terhadap modul ethno-edutainment . Empowerment is meaningful as an effort made by the Yanbu'ul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School Arwaniyah Foundation in introducing, fostering and developing the values of santri entrepreneurship and increasing students' interest in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship activities conducted are expected to foster the entrepreneurial character possessed by students. Entrepreneurial character is manifested in independence and leadership. With independence and leadership, students are expected to become role models for the surrounding community. Exemplary not only because they are graduates of Islamic boarding schools that are synonymous with da'wah activities, but also exemplary in economic activities by pocketing the entrepreneurial provision they have. Another goal with the provision of entrepreneurship is to improve the life skills of students. With the life skills that are owned, santri are felt ready when they enter the workforce later. Students are expected not only to depend on certain institutions to get jobs, but also can open their own jobs. By opening their own jobs, it will certainly open employment opportunities.
