Many attempts were made to overcome it. Basically, the Ambonese people have unique traditions and cultural symbols that can be a means of uniting them, but small emotional flareups still appear which cause further friction and conflict, therefore revitalizing the local cultural values is important. The revitalization of Ambonese cultural values and traditional symbols is important. Currently, the gap in communication and understanding of noble values, local wisdom, and the meaning of cultural symbols is the main obstacle in efforts to use it for reconciliation. This research reports the aim of finding a strategy for revitalizing cultural values and cultural symbols in Ambon, as one way to promote sustainable peace and rebuild Ambon's identity as a city that is full of local philosophy and cultural wisdom. The method used is a qualitative method with post-disaster management analysis. The research finds that a revitalization process strategy for reconciliation can be done by means of (1) Building integration of local wisdom and culture in public space, and (2) internalizing the local values and the marking of cultural symbols.","PeriodicalId":31698,"journal":{"name":"Celt A Journal of Culture English Language Teaching Literature","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80947131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objectives of this article are (1) to portray how Writing-A lecturers within such a short time preparation conducted the online courses to achieve the course objectives, and (2) to depict how Writing-A students perceived the implementation of this online course. The study is based on a half-semester small-scale study project employing institution documents and surveys. The subjects were 43 students in an institution in Indonesia. The results demonstrate the Teaching Presence which was the new challenge faced by the lecturers and the Cognitive and Social presence which occurred in the students’ new online learning. The significance of this study is the disclosure of how the encouragement of communities might contribute to conducive learning for both e-lecturers and e-students.","PeriodicalId":31698,"journal":{"name":"Celt A Journal of Culture English Language Teaching Literature","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89827198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the learning platforms that seems to be popularly used during the pandemic is MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). The present study aims to analyze the motivation dan demotivation factors of Indonesian EFL learners toward MOOC by using a qualitative descriptive method. In order to obtain the results, ten respondents were interviewed. The interview results were transcribed and analyzed using NVivo software. Based on the present research’s findings, despite relatively positive attitudes toward MOOCs shown by the majority of respondents, the respondents were demotivated by MOOCs because they can get easily distracted when learning through MOOCs, they get lack feedback from tutors and peers and unreliable internet connections. However, the respondents are motivated to join MOOCs because MOOCs provide diverse subjects, encourage students to be autonomous, and provide effective and flexible learning. The results suggest that MOOCs can be an effective alternative for EFL teaching and learning during the pandemic but MOOCs need to be provided with better interaction between students and tutors to reduce students’ demotivation and encourage more positive attitudes as well as motivation.","PeriodicalId":31698,"journal":{"name":"Celt A Journal of Culture English Language Teaching Literature","volume":"56 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90842398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Every student has a unique learning style. Some students prefer to auditory style, other students prefer to visual style, and another student may prefer the kinesthetic style. These are a few teaching styles, sensing– feeling (people-oriented), sensing–thinking (outcome-oriented), intuitive–feeling (intellectually oriented), and intuitive–thinking (innovation-oriented). This study aims to evaluate the correlation pattern between students’ learning styles and several teaching styles. The sample of this study is 133 senior high school students in Jakarta. The method used in this study is correspondence analysis. The result of this study shows that students with auditory type suit to the intuitive–thinking method and students with visual type suit to sense–the feeling method. Meanwhile, students with kinesthetic type have not suitable for any teaching method if the analysis is conducted by using correspondence analysis. Since vocational education has the function of preparing the workforce, they are required to produce graduates as the demands of the working world. The manpower needed is human resources who have the competence and skills under their field of work, high adaptability, as well as competitiveness. Previous studies have found that the curriculum is developed according to the demands of the working world and to anticipate developments in science and technology. Schools also involved creative actors in learning activities, intended to integrate various creative activities in the curriculum, especially in the C3 component of expertise competencies in the substance or teaching materials. Learning at SMK Grafika Desa Putera is presented in various competencies by integrating the important value of the creative economy for students. The learning model is presented and organized into normative, adaptive, productive, local content, and self-development programs to produce productive creative work. It can be concluded that the implementation of creative economy education aims to foster positive (creative) character, attitudes, and behavior as a form of realization of the Ministry Regulation No. 32/2013 concerning National Education Standards mandating that the learning process are required to be carried out actively, creatively, innovatively, and student-centered","PeriodicalId":31698,"journal":{"name":"Celt A Journal of Culture English Language Teaching Literature","volume":"47 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90974385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This condition initiated research to determine how the gadgets influence students' learning motivation and whether gadgets can manage face-to-face or not. The respondents were thirty-six addicted and seventy-four non-addicted gadgets of junior and senior high school students from five districts in North Kalimantan. The data collected was a closed questioner, and an interview was conducted virtually. The results showed that the gadget motivates the students since it enables all the respondents to practically access the material and minimizes respondents' anxiety in expressing the ideas. Discouragingly, the gadget could not take place in the face-to-face learning setting. Non-addicted and most addicted respondents claim that face-to-face learning builds direct interaction between peers and teachers, which cannot be found in online classes. Furthermore, the e-learning class supplies unmanageable assignments with the defective explained material. The class often holds asynchronously and gives fewer responses once the students ask for a detailed explanation. Furthermore, once the synchronous class is hosted, the internet connection distracts the class.","PeriodicalId":31698,"journal":{"name":"Celt A Journal of Culture English Language Teaching Literature","volume":"85 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90303053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
