It is widely regarded as an accurate determinant of scholastic accomplishments. EI has proven record of being a predictor of success in schools and colleges/universities. There is ample evidence in literature that, emotional intelligence accurately influences work success and management ability. Depending upon these considerations, this research paper seeks to determine the influence of emotional intelligence on scholastic success of university learners. Since the involvement of emotional intelligence (EI) in educational prowess needs more investigation, the objective of this research is to see if there is any link encompassing all four dimensions of EI (wellbeing, sociability, self control and emotionality) and academic performance among university students. In this study, 107 participants were randomly chosen from among students enrolled in a variety of Bachelor and Masterlevel professional programmes at the Chauras Campus of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (H.N.B.G.U.) in Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand, and the Maya group of colleges in Selaqui Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Participants completed a 30-item questionnaire known as the Trait Emotional In four domains—well-being, self-control, sociability, and emotionality—this survey measures emotional intelligence (EI). In our study, there was a lack of association between academic success and emotional intelligence, which includes well being, self-control, sociability, and emotionality.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90220667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The increasing prevalence of allergies has led to a growing interest in exploring natural allergens and herbal remedies with potential antiallergic activity. Natural allergens, such as pollen, dust mites, and animal dander, trigger allergic reactions by stimulating the immune system to release histamine and other inflammatory mediators. However, certain natural compounds derived from plants possess antiallergic properties. Many of these compounds exert their effects by modulating immune responses and inhibiting the release of histamine and other inflammatory molecules. Herbal remedies have been used for centuries in traditional medicine systems to treat various ailments, including allergies. Several herbal extracts and formulations have shown promising antiallergic activity. For example, extracts from plants like turmeric (Curcuma longa), stinging nettle (Urtica dioica), and butterbur (Petasites hybridus) have demonstrated anti-inflammatory and antihistaminic properties, effectively reducing allergy symptoms. This review provides a comprehensive overview of natural allergens and herbal remedies known for their ability to alleviate allergy symptoms.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84086217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper the microscopic nuclear structure model and resonating group method (RGM) has been described as a tool for such microscopic studies. This further helps in studying the scattering of low energy nucleons in the single channel approximation. Resonance calculation is one of the most difficult in the analysis of nucleus and can dominate the prediction accuracy of the nucleus analysis.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78496693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research emphasises the significance of animal domestication and its function in the socioeconomic life of the Gujjar-Bakarwal tribe, who rely significantly on cattle for food, clothing, transportation, and other necessities. Semi-structured interviews with pastoralists, focus group discussions, a basic information acquisition questionnaire, and observations of rangeland and livestock management systems were used to collect data for the study. The study's findings illustrate how globalisation and modernity have had a substantial impact on pastoral communities in Gujjar-Bakarwal. The study sheds light on management measures that can be put in place to encourage sustainable development among the Gujjar Bakarwal. It emphasises the importance of focusing on animal husbandry and management, such as enhancing livestock health and production and building market links for livestock products. The study also emphasises the significance of improving education and healthcare among the Gujjar-Bakarwal population. The current study adds to our understanding of the Gujjar-Bakarwal tribe's socioeconomic existence and the relevance of animal domestication in their livelihoods. The report recommends approaches to enhance Gujjar-Bakarwal sustainable development and emphasises the importance of policymakers considering the unique demands and challenges encountered by pastoral communities when formulating policies and programmes.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87388530","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Medicinal plants serve as a major source of income for high-altitude inhabitants in the Himalayas, particularly in countries like India, Nepal, and Bhutan. However, people here harvest huge volumes of medicinal plants indiscriminately, risking their sustainability and causing anthropogenic threats. The global market demands for Uttarakhand’s medicinal and aromatic plants are high, and several of these plants are exclusively found in Himalayan states. Himalayan states have a variety of agro-geo-climatic conditions that are ideal for medicinal and aromatic plants. Uttarakhand, being home to a diverse range of wildlife, as well as fragrant plants, has subtropical to tropical soils and agro-climatic conditions. The Alpine is a biodiversity hotspot with a diverse assortment of wild animals. But as a result of the low agricultural production, there is a lack of industrial growth leading to underdevelopment and poverty in such areas. Consequently, Himalayan inhabitants travel to the plains to take advantage of biodiversity to improve their lifestyle and socioeconomic status.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88925902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The KKH, also known as National Highway 35 (N 35), connects Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit Baltistan to Xinxiang as part of Chinese National Highway 314 (CNH 314). As part of CPEC, the KKH is currently undergoing extensive renovations. It connects China's Gwadar port to the landlocked Xinjiang province and is also slated to be expanded into an industrial corridor known as the Karakoram Corridor (KC). Through a well-developed network of highways, high-speed rail, and airports, Xinxiang is now well connected to the Chinese heartland. The infrastructural upgrade of KKH, CNH 314 with feeder links to other locations as part of CPEC has offered China with another route to deep waters, circumventing the Strait of Malacca and lessening reliance on the South China Sea. While CPEC covers a wide range of topics such as trade, energy, special economic zones, infrastructure, education, public health, and telecommunications, the scope of this article is limited to an examination of infrastructure development in the Xinxiang and Gilgit-Baltistan regions as part of CPEC.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87012619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These require for effective planning strategies with governance reforms along with adequate resource mobilisation which needs to be aligned with national developmental objectives. India, since adoption of SDGs has prioritised the implementation of the 17 indicators both nationally and locally. The country is becoming fast urbanised and SDGs for urban settings (as explained in Goal 11) require inclusive, liveable, safe, and sustainable progress. The real-time monitoring of programmatic interventions of SDGs, realisation with locally focussed results or developmental outcomes can deliver effective results. In this backdrop, the authors have attempted to study the SDGs intervention in the cities of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) to draw inference that such interventions can reposition urban agenda through sustainable outlook. The cities of J&K are increasingly urbanised and that necessitates huge pressure on urban infrastructures and urban local bodies to deliver services. The paper attempts to analyse the SDG indicators of some of the preceding years and finds that there is increasing trend and gradual improvement in J&K’s progress in SDG achievement in the cities of J&K post annulment of the Article 370.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"87 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76378568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
