Various parameters like, adiabatic compressibility acoustic impedance and intermolecular free length have been calculated at different temperatures and at 0.50% concentration. This study helps to understand the physio-chemical behavior of macro molecules with change in temperature and concentration.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81199215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current findings show that Phenobarbital pre- treatment significantly reduces the toxicity of toluene and trichloroethylene. Our observations Show that toluene is more hepatotoxic than trichloroethylene. It causes peculiar ultra-structural changes i.e. involution of nuclear membrane and irregular arrangement of mitochondrial cristae. However, using single high- dose levels of these solvents, a potentiating impact of Phenobarbital on the toxicity of other organic solvents such as methanol, xylene, and methylene chloridecould not be demonstrated. Because barbiturates are commonly used by industrial workers, it’s crucial to be aware of the possibility of synergistic effect from inhaling of organic solvents, as well as of potentiation associated with others.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84612375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Studies on assessing the prevalence rate and antibiogram of NFGNB is necessary for proper management of infections caused by them as there are high chances of regional variation in predominance and antimicrobial susceptibility pattern of NFGNB. Aim of the present study was to assess the prevalence rate of NFGNB along with antimicrobial sensitivity pattern revealing their drug sensitivity and resistance among the patients attending tertiary care hospital of varied age groups. A total of 1000 various clinical specimens were received in laboratory during the period of 4 months (August 2020-Novemebr 2020) and were subjected to processing using Vitek-2 compact system. Among 1000 clinical samples 328 yielded NFGNB i.e., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Achromobacter Xylosoxidans, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and Burkholderia cepcia. Pseudomonas aeruginosa (51.82%) and Acinetobacter baumannii (39.63%) were most prominent NFGNB isolates. Results showed that although NFGNB were found to be resistant against most of the subjected antibiotics but considerable intensity of effectiveness was also recorded against Colistin. Accurate, rapid identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing of NFGNB by Vitek 2, is required in early diagnosis, treatment and proper management of patients will reduce emergence of MDR strains of NFGNB.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"74 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82961328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a highly noxious, invasive plant species of subtropical America and quickly spreads almost in all climatic conditions of the world. The weed has been spread almost in every part of every state of India including Uttarakhand. P. hysterophorus was observed to spread from sub-tropical climatic conditions to the temperate region up to 2200 m asl in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. It has severely affected the habitats of native plant species. P. hysterophorus is an annual herb that starts to grow during March-April and remains till last of the November-December. The infestation of Parthenium has been maximum during the summer and abolished during the winter season. Regular field visits and surveys were made during the growing season (2018- 19) from foothills to higher ridges of the study areas. The highest density value (729000 ind ha-1 ) for P. hysterophorus was recorded at the Chauras site followed by Rishikesh (554000 ind ha-1 ) and the Badshahithaul site (417000 ind ha1 ) whereas, the lowest density value for this weed was recorded at the Ranichauri site (61000 ind ha-1 ). P. hysterophorus was determined to be the dominating plant species in most of the survey sites based on density, basal cover, and the Importance Value Index (IVI). However, the dominance of P. hysterophorus in most of the study sites is a signal of probable threat to the associated species. Plant species degradation caused by high anthropogenic pressure would provide appropriate circumstances for Parthenium weed to invade, presenting a major threat to the ecological balance of the region. The aim of present study to investigate infestation of Parthenium weed with altitudes wise in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80399854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Diatom samples were collected at 4 stations from upstream to downstream; TR1 to TR4 at regular monthly basis and preserved in 4% formaldehyde solution. The permanent mounts were prepared in naphrax and examined for recording the flora under the bright field using Nikon Japan 80i trinuclear research microscope. The number of diatom taxa decreased from natural to regulated section. The continuity was impaired in this stretch as only 42 of 116 species and 14 of 24 genera occurred at all the stations. The species richness was highest in the natural upstream section TR 1(96 from 21 genera). It declined at TR2 (59 species-18 genera) and increased mildly at TR3 (63 species-15 genera) and TR4 (69 species,15 genera). Four genera (Denticula, Hantzschia, Hippodonta and Adlafia) were totally absent in downstream section. Didymosphenia and Melosira were recorded only at the dam location, exhibiting restricted distribution. Dominant taxa varied and amounted to 4 taxa for TR1 and TR2, only 2 taxa for TR3. No diatom taxon was at dominant at TR 4. Cymbella was recorded as the most species rich genera. Species richness decreased from TR1 to TR4. Consequently, the assemblages differed in natural, impounded and regulated sections of the Tons R.Vast variations in the flora, species richness and assemblages suggest a severe impact on the Tons R. ecosystem.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"97 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74780107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study was conducted with the aim to investigate usagediversity of tree species. At farm level different tree species were counted, listedand recoded. The DBH of all trees and shrubs ≥5cm was measured. The average basal area per farm was 11 m2 (12 m2 per ha), with a range between 0.74 –59 m2 per farm (2.3–35.8 m2 per ha).Sixteen different usage typeswere identified, of which fuel wood holds the largest percent followed by both pole and medicinal use.Different 65 species of trees were recordedin terms of the mean important Value Index (IVI), of which Eucalyptus species ranked first (57), followed by Cordiaafricana (50.4), Croton macrostachyus (33),Erythrinaabyssinica (31.4), and Cupressuslusitanica (19). The IVI of these five species accounted for more than 30% of the total IVI. Usage diversity is well recognized in the study area but further studies of trees and use diversity in relation to soil fertility in particular and environmental Management in general seems important.","PeriodicalId":31687,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mountain Area Research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77688768","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
