InterGIS”. The glaciers of the Eastern Tien Shan are interesting as part of this transect, located in the desert and semi-desert zones. The literature mainly considers the dynamics of glaciers of the central part of the Tien Shan, in the Urumqi region. In the northern part of the transect, the glaciers in the Eastern Sayan (nival-glacial objects of the Munku-Sardyk range) are the most studied. The dynamics of these glaciers is represented for more than 100 years. This paper considers changes in the glacier at the main peak of the Munku-Sardyk mountain range (Peretolchina glacier) and the little-studied glacier at the highest peak of the Karlyktag ridge of a similar northern exposure. Assessing the entire transect, it can be noted that the glaciers of the northern part of the transect (starting from the Kodar Range) are characterized by a significant decrease in thickness compared to their area changes and an increase in the rate of armoring by surface moraines. Moraine armoring of the lower part of the Karlyktag glacier also occurs, but not as significantly as that of the Peretolchina glacier. A comparison of the dynamics of the Karlyktag glacier and the Peretolchina glacier from Landsat remote sensing data shows that glaciers are shrinking to varying degrees. The open part of the Peretolchina glacier from the finite moraine of the Fernau stage decreased both in area and length by about half. The Karlyktag Glacier has decreased in length by about 25 %. It was significantly reduced in length in the early 1970s to 100 m/year. The decrease in area averaged at a rate of 0.03 km²/year. Over the past 20 years, the Peretolchina glacier has been shrinking in area at a rate of 0.005 km²/year, and for the entire observation period since 1900—0.004 km²/year. In terms of length over the same period, the glacier is shrinking at a rate of 5 m/year. Anomalous changes were revealed in the glaciers in question in 2013 and 2021. Similar processes were noted in the southern part of the transect (Himalayas) after the accumulation of a snow-ice mass, a catastrophic convergence of glaciers occurred in 2014 (in the area of Khumbu and Langtang).","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69898086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optimization of resources for large-scale environmental monitoring activities is required. The paper describes and then tests spatial structure of Tyumen region research sites network. The network is based on principles of landscape approach, taking into account cost minimization. At the baseline of research, two testing sets of 40 and 105 points were determined. Proposed locations were evaluated using Random Forest (RF) method. The study accomplished in two stages for each test set. At the first stage, the model was trained; its capacity and indicators of additional diagnostics were studied. At the second stage, the trained model was used to predict the points formed of regular grid covering entire territory of this region (544 points). In conclusion, the obtained results were compared with similar point sets of the same volume but generated randomly. Primary Productivity Gross (GPP) was chosen as predictable variable because it is one of the major complex environmental indicators associated with carbon production in this area. The ability of an area to absorb or produce carbon is one of the main parameters that determine climate processes. As independent variables characterizing geosystemic processes, a set of indicators associated with climate, terrain parameters, and variability of soil resources has been selected. The problem was solved using Forest-Based Classification and Regression tool from Spatial Statistics—Modeling Spatial Relationships toolkit of ArcGIS Pro software package. As the result of the study, a high forecast accuracy and reliability for both approaches to research sites locations was obtained. The study was based on open source data.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69898206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moscow, being a megalopolis and the center of the largest European agglomeration, forms a zone of an increased level of natural and man-made risk for citizens, primarily due to spatial concentration and mobility of the population. The risks are especially high for the central part of Moscow (in the work considered within the boundaries of the Central Administrative District—CAO). The high business and cultural and entertainment attractiveness of this part of the capital contributes to the highest gradients of pulsations of crowding within the daily and weekday-weekend cycles. The present study is devoted to the qualitative display of these changes. To obtain the most detailed spatio-temporal information, the data of mobile operators on the localization of subscribers aggregated for January 2019–January 2020 were used. The paper tests the approach of displaying changes in the density characteristics of the population of the territory of the CAO districts by superimposing information on a pallet of 500 by 500 meters consolidated for fractional (30 minutes) time intervals of data (median population for all days of the year, separately for weekdays, weekends, and holidays). It was shown that for the central part of the capital, the gradients of daily pulsations on weekdays reach 220–320 %, and on weekends — 120–160 %. At the same time, in contrast to the sleeping areas of the city, seasonal fluctuations are much weaker here. The concentration of various cultural and entertainment activities in such areas as Tverskoy, Arbat and Yakimanka leads to pronounced festive changes in crowding, which are about 50 % stronger than the standard weekend pulsations.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69898763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Emphasizes the role of cartographic research methods in recreational geography, both in the collection of information in the field, and in the laboratory processing of statistical data. The Baikal position, high mountains, mountain rivers and lakes, deposits of minerals of decorative value, a plant species endemic to the southern coast of Baikal, a seasonal migration corridor of birds of prey, the non-freezing source of the Angara, the only river flowing from Baikal—all these are strong prerequisites for the development of various types of tourism associated with the natural environment. There are artificial objects in the region that attract the attention of tourists—the Circum-Baikal Railway, the closed Baikal Pulp and Paper Mill, which was widely known in the past due to environmental problems. At the same time, there are a number of environmental and socio-economic factors hindering the development of tourism in the region. Fluctuations in the water level in Baikal create a risk of flooding of tourist and recreational facilities and, in part, affect the development of the coastal zone. In a number of places there is a danger of mudflows. The socio-economic development of the region is taking place in the regime of severe environmental restrictions, determined by the Federal Law “On the Protection of Lake Baikal”, as well as the position of a significant part of the territory within the boundaries of the Pribaikalsky National Park. The local population participates little in the distribution of material benefits received from the use of the tourist and recreational resources of the region. It is noted that the contrast of conditions for the development of the tourism and recreational sphere (the presence of advantages and obstacles) requires special attention from regional authorities.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Krasnodar reservoir occupies a key position in the Kuban reclamation complex, so its transformations caused by siltation cannot be underestimated. Special attention is paid to the geomorphological aspects of the transformation of the reservoir bed in the process of siltation, which directly affects the morphometric characteristics of the reservoir. According to a series of bathymetric surveys, digital elevation models of the basin and maps reflecting the distribution of bottom sediments and the processes of morpholithogenesis of the bed were constructed. During the period 2005–2021, the volume of sediment accumulation in the main reservoir, excluding the separated Tcshikskoe reservoir and deltaic sediments of the dividing bridge, amounted to 127 million m³. The greatest contribution to geomorphological transformations is made by fluvial processes, with the participation of which deltas of rivers flowing into the reservoir (Kuban, Belaya, Pshish, etc.) and estuarine avandeltas are formed. So, for 2016–2021. within the mouth of the Kuban seashore, the volume of sediments amounted to 9.36 million m³ or 38 % of the total volume of the siltation body in the reservoir, and the increment of the siltation layer over 5 years reached 2–3 m or more. Within the zone of variable backwater in the open part of the water area, bottom sediments are distributed relatively evenly with an increment of the sediment layer over 5 years of 0.01–0.4 m. The lowest rates of sediment layer increment were observed in the dead volume zone—less than 2 cm per year. During the study period, a decrease in the average annual volume of situation was recorded, which presumably indicates a gradual attenuation of the siltation process as the volume of the reservoir decreases.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem of assessing the actual protective forest cover of territories is relevant. The solution of this issue allows you to identify the need, sequence and volume of forest reclamation work. The problem of mapping and assessing the protective forest cover of territories is closely related to the tasks of identifying the optimal forest cover of territories and substantiating approaches to the allocation of spatial-territorial complexes. The boundaries of the identified contours directly affect the values of specific indicators, which are the basis for the gradation of the need for forest reclamation work. The conducted studies demonstrate the possibilities of using the QGIS software package for the purpose of assessing the protective forest cover of the territory. The interpretation and creation of a cartographic model of protective forest plantations of the study area was carried out using QuickBird satellite images. The assessment was made on the basis of the calculation of specific indicators within the boundaries of landscapes for the territory of the Ilovlinsky District of the Volgograd region. As a standard for comparing the studied indicators, indicators of the protective forest cover of the “Kachalino” pilot farm were used. The application of the landscape-typological approach to the identification of territorial complexes made it possible to approach the issue of assessing the protective forest cover of territories in a more differentiated way than when using administrative boundaries. As a result of the study, landscape areas were identified, the protective forest cover of which is close to the normative, as well as those areas that need agroforestry measures. Cartographic work carried out in the QGIS software package confirms its effectiveness and allows us to recommend its use in agroforestry research related to the parallel application of various approaches to the allocation of territorial complexes.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The important task of creating a unified electronic catalog of lakes in the study area and placing it in free open access was practically solved. The studied quantitative and qualitative composition of topographic, cartometric, morphometric, hydrological, hydrochemical, hydrobiological, geoecological and other data on the lakes of the region made it possible to use in the catalog a number of cartometric and morphometric indicators common for all areal water bodies. For each of these indicators, a fixed set of values was determined containing information about various aspects of their state. In the procedure for describing and characterizing lakes, such parameters as their length, width, average and maximum depths, features of the bottom topography and its profiles, the length of the coastline and envelope, the degree of indentation of the coastline, the area of the reservoir and catchment area, the volume water mass, the degree of overgrowth of higher emersed vegetation, and others. Based on the analysis of the database of lakes created in Microsoft Excel application and desktop GIS digital mapping software product MapInfo Professional, a series of geoinformation and cartographic materials was prepared, in particular, maps that allow you to quickly obtain the necessary cartometric and morphometric indicators and geoecological characteristics of large lakes in the study region. Thus, by using the potential of graphical visualization of information from a specialized regional GIS in the MapInfo software shell, the possibilities of graphical representation of traditional statistical data of qualitative and quantitative cartometric and morphometric characteristics of lakes are clearly illustrated. The results of the work carried out, the obtained geoinformation and cartographic materials and significant amounts of information accumulated in databases of specialized regional GIS make it possible to organize and carry out a complex of full-scale monitoring studies of lakes for a large set of indicators, which is not only relevant and allows you to track the current state, but also to identify the dynamics of lake ecosystems within the territory of the region.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Determination of magnetic susceptibility makes it possible to estimate the concentration of technogenic magnetic particles in urban soils. Their sources in the atmosphere and soil cover of urbanized landscapes are emissions from vehicles, thermal power plants, and industrial enterprises. The non-stoichiometric technogenic magnetite-maghemite complex of minerals in urban soils has an abnormally high magnetic susceptibility and contains potentially dangerous chemical elements belonging to the heavy metals (HM) group in the composition of the crystal lattice of magnetic particles. Cartographic materials make it possible to assess the environmental risk for city residents, identify unfavorable areas and conduct a spatial analysis of the relationship between their location and pollution sources. The purpose of the research is spatial modeling of the magnetic susceptibility of soils in the city of Chaikovsky. The research area covers a section of the city with a total area of 22 km². Spatial modeling was carried out using geostatistical and deterministic methods based on 140 points. As a result of cross-validation, it was found that the most accurate interpolation method is “Ordinary Kriging” with the help of which the boundaries of the contaminated areas of the city of Chaikovsky are established. Within these boundaries, soil samples were taken, in which the content of nickel, copper, zinc, and lead was determined. According to the data obtained, areas with high magnetic susceptibility of soils have higher concentrations of heavy metals. To bring the research results to the administration and residents of the city, a Web GIS application has been developed, access to which is organized through the GitHub platform.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the local level of each farm or agricultural company, information on actual land productivity is differentiated relative to the information-mathematical 3D geometric and structural model of the field relief surface. The relief is represented by a system of homomorphic elementary surfaces, each of which is quasi-uniform in the vertical and lateral structure of natural ecological conditions and is distinctive in exposure and morphometric parameters. Homomorphic surfaces correspond to elementary agro-landscape ranges. Original algorithms have been developed for calculating morphometric parameters and exposure within elementary surfaces, the location of current lines, depending on the type of surface, the presence of special points in them and the type of structural lines limiting them. A computational classification of homomorphic surfaces by natural ecological properties affecting the processes of soil formation is provided—position in relation to heat/moisture-bearing flows, gradation of slopes, location within the slope. Algorithms and program modules of information—mathematical automated visualization of homomorphic elementary surfaces, representative points of agrochemical sampling and current lines are designed for interpolation of agrochemical analysis data on each surface; modules for calculating morphometric parameters of elementary surfaces and exposure provide calculation of solar radiation coming within their limits. Within the database, a diagram of relationships between elementary surface objects in a field system was developed. Systemic monitoring and analysis of the law of matter and energy redistribution within elementary surfaces with their corresponding soils, microclimate and agricultural crop, create the possibility of programming spatially differentiated application of biologically active substances within the boundaries of the field, predicting their rates in accordance with climatic trends.","PeriodicalId":31498,"journal":{"name":"InterCarto InterGIS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69899805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
